Might not be so much as jail-house legal advice as it was a strategy 1 of his original lawyers mentioned. But FWIW, you're 1 of only a few people I've seen discussing this. Seems like nobody else realizes it's part of his "plan".
From my understanding, he's doing everything he possibly can to throw the judge off track and cause her to do ANYTHING that could help him win an appeal.
And I believe the judge knew this, as someone mentioned she'd admonish him and remove him from court, but always stopped short of holding him in contempt. If she did (even if it was warranted), she was afraid he could use that as ammo for his appeal, claiming he didn't get a fair trial, the judge was bias against him, etc. So even tho it may have seemed like she was being easy on him, it may have been part of the big picture to make sure he never gets out.

He really seems like he doesn’t care about the victims, but he sure wants to control Erika. I noticed that when the gentleman that is a hairdresser testified, the one with a criminal past…Delay didn’t pull his meltdown stuff on him. So, that leads me to believe that he has woman issues. Erika testified during her 1st direct exam if she was in that SUV, and her response was (paraphrasing), “we came to Wisconsin together back in June 2021. We were only supposed to stay for a few weeks but we never left. We were staying with his mother but bc he’s not allowed to be around her, we just slept in the SUV…” So, if Delay cannot be around his own mother…I mean geeeeez!! He wants other ppl (in this case, the detective) to show him the courtesies he’s not willing to show them. Here, it’s being honest and completely transparent. In court, it’s expecting the judge to provide him with “proof” for every single thing, and being unwilling to offer a showing of proof when it comes to his rationale for asking a witness a question that she’s in between about letting him ask before the jury. And so on.

He called his mother to call and pay for the uber for him which she did but since he was on the move, the uber didn't find him at the location he was suppose to be so he had to borrow another person's cell phone to contact his mother again to give her his new location. She called the person's phone back to find out what was going on with her son but the person didn't call her back. These people who let him borrow their phones testified that he called his 'momma' to get him the uber and didn't call for the uber himself as obviously he didn't have any $ on him. When he was arrested, he had the sandwich the homeowner made for him as DB claimed to be homeless which was another lie. DB's actions that day prove he intentionally ran over the paraders and tried to escape the scene via an uber lyft and ditched his own phone so he couldn't be tracked. The red suv belonged to his mother and he told the detectives that he had a driver's license but didn't have a car and didn't drive whilst he was in Waukesha which was another lie.
