I have a 2008 M45 where the bolts you said to remove were welded in. The way you remove the taillight on this model and I believe the 2009 as well is by removing a black trim piece that will be between the lights and where the trunk is, after that the bolts can be removed from the other side of where you showed on your video. Hope this helps since I struggled a lot till I figured it out
Thanks for the video Ed. Replacing my tail lights today and this video was really helpful and makes the job look like it will be easy. Also reminded me to buy some extra plastic clips off amazon.
Ed, I have a 2008 M45 S, last week I had the passenger airbag recall performed. Since then, intermittently, sometimes days between, I get the radio turning on and off, lights on the instrument panel coning on going off, the trip miles going back to zero, and one time nothing happened when I pressed the gas pedal. Any ideas? Seems to be a communication error. Thanks.
@@Mike-og3xb Good to hear. After one of my airbag recalls, my radio was all static-y. It turns they had left my antenna disconnected. I was hoping yours wasn't a big deal; but if it was, the dealer should correct what they did.
@@EdBwoy I was worried at first, the service rep was saying oh no, no way the recall work could have this effect, but they pulled codes and it was battery. I was fearing for my credit card balance there for a minute...;)

What’s the bulb size for the tail light?
Just wanted to mention at least on my m45 on the passenger side tail light one of the bolts is hidden under a clip to a wiring harness
