  • Here’s a throwback video featuring the Infiniti M35 & M45 from the 2006 to 2010 model years. But the Infiniti M sedans technically don’t qualify as a flagship as the the Infiniti Q45 existed in 2006. See my video on the Lexus GS F here: • 2016-2020 Lexus GS F.....
The Infiniti M35 was powered by a NA V6 engine whereas the M45 was powered by a NA V8 engine which makes it very special. These M sedans were available with AWD and as a Sport model which came with some high end features which I talk about in this video.
This video was done by Kevin from Exhaust Sports Auto.

I have a 2008 M45, 16 years old, and it still looks modern, platinum silver. Only 60,000 miles on it and its just a great car with many features that many high end cars just added in the past 2-3 years. Bose audio, lane keeping, lasr radar spped control, voice recognition, rear seats with reclining, heated seats and a video player. I have to fix some body damages but I don't see any reason to buy a BMW, Merc, Audi, especially here in CA with the 2% annual tax. I love it and appreciate the video as this was the fastest sedan as rated by car and driver for that year. Plus, you don't see many on the road!

My first car was a 2006 M35 with journey and navigation packages. Absolutely loved it! Was great to drive and the exhaust note on the VQ was always great. Bought with high miles in mint condition from an elderly neighbor and sold it with 220k miles on the clock! Never had issues for me beyond 2 $40 sensors failing (which caused the car to brick up while driving - Infiniti faced a class-action lawsuit in the g35 models for the same sensor failures) You didn't mention it, but the M series also offered Lane departure alert and Automatic Radar cruise control back in 2006 / 2007! Absolutely wild, and a great value.... Unfortunately when I see one on the road today its typically ratted out :(.... but this era (2003-2010) was definitely Infiniti's heyday - I wouldn't be lining up to buy any new infiniti model today, which is sad to say as they were an industry innovator for quite some time in the early 2000s.

I had to replace the tranny once but other than that this car is a BEAST. One the highway the response on acceleration is crazy. To hear the engine start and rev is addicting. You can hear that V8 Beast under the hood. I thought about selling her after the tranny change but.....I can't do it. This car still turns heads and I get comments all the time about it. Came across a low miles 06 M35× fully loaded, black eith the most beautiful seats ever in a car, Peanut Butter.
With about 122,000. The only issues i had were just regular wear and tear. But i do have now, Vale Cover Gasket that need to be replaced. Which will be done very soon!
This will mostly likely be my last Infinit car.
Until i see something that will WOW me from Infiniti.
Switching over to the Genesis. Havent made my mind up yet between the G80 or G90.
But i will always love Infiniti. Probably the only luxury car that will last a lifetime with the proper maintenance.

"fleet" and even though it would be cool to have the V8 in the M (which I might do someday) it's cool to have a taste of both of these popular engines from the time period. Also, never knew the rear heated/reclining seats were an option either!

I actually still have my 06 M45. It has 160k Miles now. its gray with light gray leather and aluminum accents. Overall it has been a trouble free vehicle. I've had to replace a o2 sensor and a camshaft position sensor. I replaced the plugs and coils recently at 158k, along with all fluids. I did valve cover gaskets at 160k as well as the throttle body. It's always been garaged and oiled changed every 4k conventional. I've never had any major engine or transmission problems. Just general maintenance. The tech and v8 is a bit dated but everything still works. It still has the original radiator, water pump and thermostat. I also own a 08 Lexus ISF with 170k. The 5.0 and 8 speed are amazing. The M45 could benefit greatly from the 8speed, but none the less two total different cars.

We have the 2010 M35X, my favorite Infiniti yet, we've had Infinities since 1992. Had the transmission control module circuit board fail. Infiniti dealer wanted to replace the whole transmission for almost $9000. Right! I brought it home, read the code, dropped the pan and the control module, after cleaning it up, only problem was a cracked circuit on the board. I soldered a wire across to connect the break, reinstalled with new gasket and synthetic fluid, torqued to 75 inch/pounds, all for less than $100, took care of the problem. 70,000 miles later, still working great!
Sadley it seems Infiniti dealers assume their customers are all complete morons and believe anything they're told. I later met up with the sales manager while eating out, she said I need to upgrade my ride to a newer version. I told her the 2006-2010 was the best series made yet, she agreed and proceeded to share the newer ones aren't as good as the older models, she wanted mine because there's a good market for the '06-10 models...case closed.

Engine burns oil, dvd player in the center console stopped working in the past year. I plan on having it repainted in the next year or two due to some clear coat damage. Sensors for one. Check and change oil religiously. One thing I don't do that many people who have this car demonstrate is the speed. It is Z fast and if you love 0 to 60 driving it does get up. But it is a very luxurious car and ride and I drive mine as such. Every now and then I punch it and she jets but I do not treat it like a race car to take better care of it. Also as I said it uses premium gas which is the more expensive fuel and she loves to drink. It is not the greatest on gas. Not the worst but I imagine that if you keep that pedal to the metal you will spent lots of time at the gas pump. Take care of it and it will make your driving experience a very pleasurable one. Check and change oil religiously.

Nice video. I have a 2009 M35 S. Many people don’t know that the 2009/2010 model years have the updated VQ35DE engine with 303 horsepower and an 7speed automatic transmission. The updated engine fixed the timing chain guide issues, got more power due to dual intake tubes, new front and rear facias, new rear, yet slightly modified taillights and new side skirts for the for the sport models. Even the side marker lights on the fenders were revised, as well as updated wheel options!

Purchased a used 2007 M35 Base model in 2010. Happy with it at 164K miles even though it is showing normal wear and tear. The dashboard and the airbags were replaced by the dealer after a recall. Replaced the oil cooler gasket at 83K, the AC compressor went out at 126K, the radiator at 130K, and the head cover gasket at 150K. A couple of driver seat panels were replaced at 110K and may need to be replaced in a year or so. It burns about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Used regular gas for 14 years and it works just fine as a daily driver.

I would say the only good and bad part of the the drive train. 5 speed transmission. Cruising at highways speeds your reving 3100 to 3500. Major gas guzzler. And infiniti says premium fuel😂 💸💸💸💸
Active rear steer is cool. But best feature by far. Headlights turning the direction of your steering wheel. Rare option for cars of those years.

I liked this car a lot. 'Mine' was going to be an M35x Sport (lost the wood trim which I loved, grrr) with Tech and Jouney packages - but not the gee whiz rear seat stuff (did not need/want) Took several involved test drives at dealers and got to uleash it on some country roads after sales guys knew I was serious. It did almost everything right. Yes, the 'sport' made a difference! In the end though I just had to have a stick and so, BMW 535x with the twin turbo and about the same hp. Cost more, but I spec'd that up too, and BMW L7 sound system soundly beat the Infinity Bose even with the seat mounted speakers. Couple years later I came back to Inifiniti but they'd softened and cheapened it, and the flowing fenders didn't do it for me either. Infiniti, like Acura earlier had some great stuff, lost the way and is largely irrelevant now. [I had some small, swoopy sort thing (QX30?) for 5 days as a rental a year or two ago - underpowered, very noisy, and I didn't find it to be great handler either really - but then I hate most crossovers - Q60 might be intersting, but I'd moved out of the G35 size 10+ years ago]

I have a 2008 M45 Sport and a 2009 M45 sport. The 2008 I bought brand new 15 years ago.. it has 240,000 miles on it and is a workhorse. Has never been back to has never been back to the shop for any type of repairs other than standard maintenance type of items. In 2018 I bought a q70l and it was extremely disappointed. It's a very large car which I liked 5.6 l v8. The CVT transmission is a piece of garbage. Got rid of the car after 3 months.. I was actively looking for another M45 sport and Ryan across a black one in California and pristine condition. I flew out their drove it back to Chicago and had it detailed, play bard, and ceramic Crystal sealant on the clear coat. Then put four brand new continental DWS tires on it.. car is beautiful looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Very hard to find these V8s

I mean, this is my favorite category of cars. Mid size, luxury sedans, with big smooth V6s or V8s. Hey, if you can get your hands on a nice Acura RL, it’s a real underrated car that I never stop mentioning in these types of videos.

Yea I love these types of cars the most as well. I think they are perfect for street driving. I think I will make a vid dedicated to the RL soon!

Love it when Americans say this is mid-sized. When its absolutely enormous.
      It's a foot longer than a bmw 5 series.

@@antonyaiken a full size sedan is a 7 Series, or an S Class, etc. This isn’t on the “land yacht” level, which is ok because those are 99% unnecessary if you’re just a normal daily driver.

That’s correct S, 7, A8, LS and the Bentleys/Rolls are the true “land yachts” Infiniti M just happened to carry the torch after 06 of being the flagship for Infiniti when they dropped the Q45. M45 really competes with and is sized like a 5 series, E class, etc

@@MeynMotorGroup what do you think about that weird class of German cars called the 4 door coupe? Those CLS or A7 types of things. Those are the ultimate cars to me, but they’re such a tiny category, it’s basically non existent lmao. So that’s why I just stick with the classic sedan as my favorite

These were definitely cool but IMO didn't have the presence of the much less produced, seen and recognized 03'-04' M45, I had an 03' M45 back then in diamond white/tan interior and the long sharp/chiseled body lines without being too busy or overdone is almost more at home today in 23' then back then in that era of more rounded and melted body styling being the look, it had an almost refined muscle car like aesthetic and nobody knew what it was except people into cars, it stood out in traffic and came standard with 18" rims and the RWD 345HP V8 which for the time felt like a rocket for a car of it's size, it was a head turner and fun to drive for sure, also the interior with a few standout features I remember like the air conditioned seats, electronic height adjustable Xenon headlights controlled from the dash in 03' was unheard of amongst some other cool features but the design of that car still just looks so good even 20 years later.

Still drive my m35x loaded with Bose stereo in seats, and rear sunshades. 110 miles on my 18 year old car.

Had '11 M37 - still regret selling it. Might get m35h/q70h if good deal surfaces...
