Thank you for the video. Did this yesterday 3/11, on my Infinity M35. BOTH Belts - the main serpentine and the AC belt. You do need to loosen up the pulley nuts first, so the pulley can slide up and down the rail tracks when you loosen or tighten the long adjuster bolts. once you tighen up the adjuster bolt and the belts are tight, then tighten up the pulley nut. #14 for the pulley nut, #12 for the adjuster bolt. No need to take the pulleys apart, just a few twists to loosen them. I had a problem with the AC pulley, the adjuster [long] bolt was seized up from rust, so I dismantled the AC pulley, sprayed the long nut with WD40, viced it up and kept tugging at it, until it was good. easy re-assemble. ALL in ALL, $13.99 for the serpentine, about the same for the AC belt. Mechanics, around my way, want to charge 100-150/hr for the same job, plus parts. pfft. P.S. for the serpentine belt, get the # if still visible, so they can give you the correct part at the auto parts place when they cross reference it. my serpentine was original factory part from when the car was built... cause a bit of confusion before I finally got the right serp belt. .
Awesome video I got same car u helped me bigtime I been looking all over for tenor so many videos not finding it your video perfect dude. U made it look soo easy 2 min repair omg Awesome bro!! Love the gloves black latex now I need flex connecter video lol
Hi, I was replacing the belts and like you said, the tensioner bolt on the right side is being a problem, it doesn't want to slide down. I don't want to put too much pressure on it because it might break, if you had this problem, how did you go about dealing with it?
I made sure to spay it good with PB Blaster. WD 40 will work. Mine was super stuck too. Hold socket good with 1 hand. Have a pipe or deep socket and extension on ratchet for better leverage and steady smooth turn. After a 1/4 of a turn, mine was then easy to back down.
Great video! Replaced the serpentine and AC Belt on mine a couple weeks ago. Question, do those Belt Tensioner Tools work for our vehicle? I see a lot of folks just pressing the tensioner pulley down to relieve the tension.
May I ask for help so how many belts are their and my car only Sqeaks when I start it up and run for a min it stops is it one whole belt that controls the alternator or different belts I have a infinit fx35 2007
This is not how our FX45 is at all. We have a gigantic rad fan, and it's tiiiiiiight inside a housing so I can't see how I can maneuver the belt around it to remove the belt... how in the world do I get these belts off with that?? I tried removing parts to get to the fan... spilled coolant out of the top hose (messy fak) and just... couldn't.... see how to do this?? I've done these belts on my Silverado; easy peasy... I get the process... but I just don't understand how to get this fan off. 2005 FX45. No videos exist that I can find. Any ideas?
Yep he's right...an Infiniti technician was nice enough to tell me that you have to loosen the pulley lock nut first because it holds the tension adjuster bolt in place. After you loosen the adjuster bolt, torque back it down the after the belts are on. Thanks for sharing the link also..
I wouldn't think so. But, If the belt is dry. It could be slipping. In that case the belt wouldn't turn over the alternator to charge the battery correctly.
Yes it could. Mine came on and I was told my alternator was bad by Infiniti. After going to a third party mechanic he told me it was just the serpentine belt which I paid for him to replace and haven't had any problems since
Yes, either a bad belt or a locked up pulley.. remove belt - all pulleys but the big crank shaft one should be able to turn by hand - some easier than others. My 2008 FX45 was flashing all check lights in dash at random.. idle pulley was locked up and froze in place. If that's the case change belt while you're at it- it's damaged.

Yes I forgot to loosen the pulley nuts hopefully people read your comment and this helps them. Thank you
Thank you for the detailed info. I’m going to try this tomorrow. Mechanic wants $250. That’s just for labor. I already have the belt. Thanks again!
much better video than the guy who removed the tensioners. Thank you!
Thank you. I think i forget to loosen the pulley that has the adjuster. That's why mine was so hard. I think someone made a comment.
Thank you for taking your time to educate us . I will jump on this task this upcoming weekend 🙌
Thanks! Lots of room and super easy compared to other belts I’ve replaced!
Good video, thanks! Just ordered the same two belts for my M35X, AC belt broke, I always change all belts at the same time. Tight lines!
Thanks for the vid, very straightforward. I’ll be changing my belts on my ‘08 M35 tomorrow.
Was it just as the video said? Anything different?
Excellent video. I can do it now on my 2007 infinity M35
Thanks you to your video it save me a ton of money in this time.
Your welcome

Great video, I have a Q70L, QX70, and G37. Plan on getting it done.
Thank you brother! Excellent video. It made changing the belts a snap!

You have to lose the 14 mm bolt on the idler plly
Is this similar to the QX50 2016 with the 3.7L V6 ?

Not sure. I don't guess I've used one. Some tensioners are spring loaded.
Thank you!Have to change my alternator but I'm a also change my belt.God Bless and have a blessed day.🙏🏾
Thank you for the video. Much needed info.
Check bearings on tensioner pullies when the belts are off.
Good stuff. Concise, well illustrated. I appreciate the video!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thank you!
Whats under the tarp?
1991 Nissan 300ZX
This is very differnt from the 4.1L V8 97-01 Q45...anybody got a video on it?
How much should a mechanic charge to replace?
Very easy. I wouldn't pay over $100
May I ask for help so how many belts are their and my car only Sqeaks when I start it up and run for a min it stops is it one whole belt that controls the alternator or different belts I have a infinit fx35 2007
Sorry. I don't have that car anymore.

You should pin the comment about loosening the pulley bolt!!!
Right...
Subbed how about q70
Before you turn the adjuster bolt, you need to loosen the pulley nut.
? I've never heard of such a thing. Why would you loosen the pully nut?
@@packwoodperformance4x474 I noticed that also. www.justanswer.com/car/1a2cw-change-belts-fx35.html
Well I'll be. Maybe that's why the adjustment bolt felt gritty.
@@packwoodperformance4x474 Possible. I don't know because I haven't changed them yet I was just doing some research before getting started. Lol

Would bad belts cause the brake and battery light to come on?
I wouldn't think so. But, If the belt is dry. It could be slipping. In that case the belt wouldn't turn over the alternator to charge the battery correctly.

Forgot a step for each tensioner. You must loosen the pulley nut before you’ll gain any slack when you loosen the tension bolts.
At how many miles did you change the belt?
Not sure. 185,000 maybe. But might not have been original. I could just see cracks in it.
Thank you
Great job, thanks
Great video I can save a few bucks
Good job pal…
i have a fx35 an everyday i turn my car on it squeaks like hell an i’m pretty sure the belts an pulleys are the reason
