Thank you for the kind words! If you own an M45/M35, check out my Y50 playlist. It contains a lot of vids & instructionals on reapairs & features that might not be very common to evwrybody
I had the job 90% done while down there for something else..., then I thought of my M people. I did a quick search and found no videos for the M, so I knew what I had to do.
Thanks E!! Just got the Sentra replacements( $67 for both brand new) and gonna repaint the grills while I have them off. Thanks again for taking the time to do these videos!
Always glad to help Ant. Hit us up if you run into any problems. Also, someone on the forum said they shaved a bunch of time by just pulling the grilles backwards - might work for you as well, but I have had bad luck with broken or loose tabs in the past, so I go the long and sure route.
Grills off but broke the top clip closest to fog light that has the slot in it. I'm sure it will be fine without it...lol! I'm gonna re do the black and gloss it up. Video was very helpful, thanks again!! I'm Sixlegs on NICO btw...
Ultimately on the side that broke. I couldn't get that clip with the slot in it to release, that part was not in your vid...lol! Once I had it off and could see what I needed to do, the other side was a snap.
Hey Ed thanks for the vids. It's hard to find M45 info online. I have an 08 M45 Sport with 97k on it. Everything is awesome except that it has randomly shut off on the highway twice already. Everything stops working and the steering gets pretty heavy I coast over to the shoulder and turn the car off and back on and its like nothing went wrong at all. Took it to dealership and they said nothing is wrong. It seems electrical. It's not showing any codes like crank sensor. Any ideas in your experience?
Actually, those symptoms were mostly crank and cam sensor related. The problems usually come on at later mileages, but I would not discount it either. Does anything else happen with the random shut off - shuddering, RPM bouncing etc? Does the radio and AC also cut off?
No shuddering, steering gets tough, car coasts easily, all the dash lights light up as if you put the ignition into the second position but not start the engine. It was a tense moment so I don't remember if the radio or ac cut off or if I turned off the radio while trying to figure out what was going on. Once the car stops rolling I put it into park press the start button to turn it off and then again to start it up and it starts instantly. I have a OBD2 scanner connected and try to see if the Crank or Cam position sensor codes pop up but they don't. I think I'll replace them just to be safe. Thanks for the answer. Found you on NICO forums.
I brought up the radio stuff to see if your alternator could be acting goofy (not common). I don't like spending money with no explicit diagnosis, but since you might end up replacing the sensors down the road anyway, replacing them is a smart move. Plus there is that road safety aspect - can't gamble your life over the price of 2 sensors. Keep us updated, I do what I can to document my knowledge of these cars.
I have a 2007 infiniti m35x. The signal lights, high beams all work except the xenon headlight. This is just for my passenger side..Is it true that I have to replace the entire lamp for this??
That doesn't seem like a reasonable option to me. You dont have to replace the whole assembly over a single light not working. How about you swap the passenger and driver HID bulbs first? That way, you'll eliminate a bad bulb as being the cause of your problems.
Hello Again Ed, As Always Thanks For M45 Help. My Question Today Is How Difficult Is It To Remove And Replace Front Bumper Cover. Mine Is Not Damaged But Worn Out And Chipped Clear Bra Near Impossible To Remove. Cheaper To Buy Painted Bumper Cover And Just Replace Under $300. Is This Hard? Can I Do This In Reasonable Amount Of Time? Any Special Tools Required?
It can be done in a reasonable amount of time. It requires removal of the front wheels, but I think all I needed after was 10mm tools and long screwdrivers. Seems simple enough that none has documented the procedure in details. - forums.nicoclub.com/2006-infiniti-m45-to-2008-m45s-bumper-changeout-t502888.html#p5930101
Hey Ed, great videos. I need to replace the passenger side ballast on an 06 m35. Do I need to remove the bumper for access, or can I lift the car and just turn the wheel?
Yep! I believe that is a bumper out, headlight out service. I don't think you can access them any other way. Might as well try by first removing the fender liner
Thanks EdBwoy. I forgot to mention, mine is a M35 2006. I had replaced the driver side with "Sentra" assemblies, and I saved the passenger side assembly. Murphy’s law applies as The driver side is lens is now busted and ai,will be buying another Sentra pair!
Hey Ed quick question,I have an 09 m35 when accelerating the rpm needle will drop like its losing pressure then shoot up,I’ve changed plugs, air filters, maf sensor, cleaned throttle body and still does it..any suggestions
Sadly, I haven't had to. Would this link offer any ideas?ruclips.net/video/I-HgA6LHr3A/видео.html When I get a chance I'll look, but you probably have to massage it in like the glovebox. One side probably has a longer leg
@EdBwoy Hey! I know this vid is a few years old, but I am hoping someone sees this and can help me out. I am swapping out the broken fog lamps on my '07 M35x for the '07 Sentra lights. I found them for a decent price online BUT the fitment chart is indicating that the fog lamps will fit an 2004-2015 Sentra and 2008-2010 M35. Will these lamps fit my '07 M35x? I am nervous ordering them because if they don't fit, I'm in Canada and will have to ship the lights back to the States. Lemme know :) Thanks and great video
@@EdBwoy What got me was that the '07 Sentra lights are compatible with the '07 M35.... So if the lights I want to purchase are compatible with the '07 Sentra.... In theory right???? LoL. It's so strange. No matter how many times I search for the '07 fog lamps I am always given search results for the '08. I recently purchased my M35x after it was in a minor accident. This is the last piece I need to complete the front end and it's just completely throwing me for a loop.
what year is it? I need a replacement for a 2006 M35, most of the replacements I find say they fit 2008 and later like 06 and 07 are different from the later years

At least the grille came out eventually.. Did you use the "yank at it" method? Lol

Great video and explanation! Gave me faith that I could do it myself as I also cracked mine on the highway. Thanks a lot!!
Thank you.
You got this! Remember to cross-shop with Nissan Sentra fog lights, there probably are more optiins these days.
I see them continental tires look like extreme contact dws plus 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿crazy grip

That is correct. Just turn the bulb after removing the electrical plug

Thanks man .. actually ..thanks a lot !
You're welcome my friend
thanks a million. Awesome video man. Just follow your instruction on the video a waalaaa.
Perfect! 👌
The fog light assemblies are often sold in pairs. Are these interchangeable? Or are they specific for right and left side?
They are position specific
I think the Y51 fogs are the same. ruclips.net/video/ox5kOtaOP-Y/видео.html

I would try resetting the ECU first. forums.nicoclub.com/reset-ecu-accelerator-throttle-idle-t595740.html
Naw no codes, thanks I’ll try that..
I changed my bulbs to LED they are super bright i wish i could get the same look and output out my headlights
VLEDS have really top quality LEDS for our cars. Pricey but the quality is amazing. I bought license plates lights from them.

Hey Ed have you replaced the license plate lights on an M45? Does the trunk liner have to be taken out to get to them? Thanks.
Yep! It's that simple. Remove the fasteners and then the liner, and you'll see them right there.

Damn! Thanks for the vids, do you have a link for 07 m45 sport fog light replacement . These links here aren’t working. Thanks!
Which links? And the 07 is pretty much the same as this video
I mean a link to buy the fog lights
People usually buy them as Sentra fog lights. You can get a pair from ebay or Amazon pretty cheap.
Okay thanks man
Thanks for the knowledge!
Thanks Tobias. I hope it helped you get the task done faster.
Hey how do I change the fog light on a 08 sport

I meant to text you today. Did you need the right or left one?
I need the left passengers side

But free from my parts box in the garage
Funny...I have a cracked fog light lens on the driver side
