RTW GSXR 1000 Rebuild - She's DONE!

- The last part of the GSXR 1000 rebuild, we tackle the seized shock mount and do the final bits to get the Beast ready to get back on the road!
The BEAST is my Suzuki GSXR 1000 which I rode around the world from 2012 to 2014 in a trip which started the whole TeapotOne journey I'm currently on. I last rode her around 2016 and she's sat in the garage ever since, slowly decaying away with over 100,000 miles behind her.
It was a CRIME to leave her like this, so I contacted my mate Ollie Lewin from Premier Motorcycle Service & repair and we're going to get her back on the road!
Check out Ollie's website at premierbikerepairs.com

was an honour to be the one that recommissioned the rtw gsxr, had fun doing it, any others i can do?
Well done Sir. Proper 🎩-Tip on this professional rebuild.
Really enjoyed this series, something heroic in seeing an old worn beat up super bike be brought back! Just please treat her to some fresh rubber
Good work Bruce! All that blood, sweat and tears back into building it again. Good job you had Oli to make the teas for you. What a guy.
The one and only, Bloody Legend Bruce, Cant wait for some content :)
Great series of videos. Love seeing the beast resurrected whilst retaining what Antiques Roadshow would call 'patina'!
Awesome! Can’t wait to see it in the road!
Now I want to pull my suspension and lube the bushings and bearings on my older bikes.😮
So when we having a Gixxer ride out! I'm coming over if cake is involved!
Brilliant bruce the beast is back
Bruce have you thought about having the plastics repaired? I bet it could be done with a bit of fiberglass on the back for structure and then clear coat everything to make sure all the patina becomes permanent.
Gotta protect it, been around the world you know!
Mon the Gixxer!. Always been a Suzuki man, guid tae see the auld girl back on the road.
Great job and it still looks like it's gone around the world!
Look forward to the green hell lap
Man’s a legend
Awesome video series Bruce. Like giving a new life to an old dog
Incredible that it is already done, that wasn't nearly as much work as I thought it would (or could) be. I can't wait to see a couple videos now riding this instead of the new Tractor. I'm curious what you will say about riding it after all these years since the last time you've travelled on it. I bet you're really excited Bruce.😃👍
Bloody love that bike 😎👍🏼 I'll come to the ring when you go 👍🏼
Brilliant! Great wee series to follow!
Ollie's done wonders.
A test ride to Mr Fish's BOS would be good, love to see the old beast.
Tell Mrs T to add walnuts as well, yum yum
Massive well done to olly, and congrats on getting the beast back out. Cant wait to see you riding this bike again Bruce.
Brilliant😊enjoyed all the episodes
Fantastic, I'm so happy for you.
It seems the world is now a better place for some reason lol
Ha Ha, yep… all is right once again 👍🤣
I’m actually excited for you🎉🎉🎉, fantastic to have it back mate to life in its original state
Thanks bud 👍
Blister-Bruce and Teapot-Bruce even have the same hair-doo 🤣
🤣🤣
Loved watching the Beast being bought back. Looks reasy to go round the world again.
Great watching this series. Something I used to love doing and then one day went into my garage and found I had lost the urge completely and have never found again. WD40 kinda works but IMVHO you can't beat Plusgas. I'm so OCD I woulda been in amongst the back end with Vulcanet wipes cleaning those' never to be seen again' places!!
Stopping talking about getting around ‘rings’ 😊😊
Nice to see the beast back as every garage needs to have an old school sportsbike. Well done Olly and you Bruce 😂
Been waiting for this final installment and it was worth it Bruce. Brought back some very happy memories from past yeas too, so thanks for that as well. Looking forward to seeing you both out on the road 🤘. Till next time happy safe riding 👍...
Mate this is iconic!!!
Corroded head studs easy. Screw steel nuts onto threads and Mig weld the end off the studs going into head. The heat of the steel expanding in ali head with squirts of WD 40 makes the most stubborn rusted threaded bar unscrew easilyand loads less chance of snapping.
I think Clan members should be invited to watch at the ring Bruce ! 😊😊😊
Amazing how well that engine sounds. Can’t wait to see it back on the road! Well done guys!
nice work!!! needs a jet wash now!
now that it’s done….Worth another lap round 🌎
Should have named that blister TeapotTwo
Amazing man who could repair the Beast.. against all odds
She's ALIVE!!!!
Top job 👏
Great to see the beast is done! Can’t wait for further videos! Round the world again?????
Great watching two technicians at work 😊
You're very easy to listen to!! Ace vid
Thanks very much 👍
Superb, I feel excited for you. So, will there be a round the world trip Part 2?
Well done gents. Looking forward to seeing it being ridden again.
Ta 4 the vid! Don't throw the parts away: auction 'em & donate the profit to the org(s) you were running the bike for in the first place. What do you think of the idea? Either way, bless you, your team & especially Mrs Teapot.
Fantastic work Gentlemen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great to see the Beast Back up & Running 👍🏻🏍️💨
I bet it feels awesome doing all this Bruce and the tension of riding it again👌......Great stuff. Regards Glenn👍
Awesome !! Love the way you've kept some of the battlescars.. er... i mean petina... 😊
Brilliant to have it back properly 🙂
Absolutely loved watching this series
Glad you got her back and going 😎👍
Saving this to watch back to back
Great series and great to see the beast back! First time you ride it in the rain though, all that 'round the world petina' will come off! 😜
Your old buddy is up and running, next the test ride and mot 👍🏻🙂
Brilliant work, glad the beast is up and running again. Maybe auction the broken parts off to your viewers?
Cracking video - absolutely loved this series. Can't wait to see it with a ticket on it!
Heading into Germany with a bike, well, the German plod will have a field day with it. 😂
Great you got it finished Bruce now look forward to you first ride.
A finger sander is very useful for confined spaces like the linkage, not as quick as a grinder but less aggressive and a bit more controllable, the bike is looking good 👌
I have loved this series, thank you for sharing it with us 👍🏻👍🏻
I love these litle monsters
Super stoked to see this done! Way to go bruce
That shock is WELL passed it.
Used oli a few times he is a proper technician knows his stuff my vstrom rode like new once he'd showed it some love❤️
Looking forward to the MOT test and first ride video !!
Now I expect you to come over to the ABR Festival on the Beast! And maybe get on the trails with it? 😏
I’m not at the ABR this year sadly
@@teapotone sad news indeed! It's nice though you didnt say no to the trails on the beast 😉
This was a bloody brilliant series 👍!
Big hammer, every time!
🤣👍
Bruce, what's your plans for the panels, fairings etc? Keep them the same? Respray them? Buy new ones? Or prep it all over and wrap it with your teapotone logo?
Thoroughly enjoyed this, I wonder how much Kwik Fit would of charged for this work haha
Awesome mate 👍 👍
The ocd in me is screaming clean all nooks and cranny as you go😂😂😂
Nurburgring trip you say? I'm game! 😎
Awesome job. Be grand to see it on show over the year , WW24 for one ? Great to see 🏍👍👌
I think she needs to go back around the world up the other way round. 😂
Congrats Bruce, you must be so chuffed! 👍😜
Thanks bud, can’t wait to hit the road with her again 👍
Like all your stuff but really enjoyed this Gixxer rebuild, glad you didn't overtart her up.
Got any other old bikes that need a fettle?
Love iiittt pity you couldn't of cleaned some of your bits 🤣I didn't know you was a total mechanic proper job haha. If I was thinking of doing that I would take the bike around the world you know. Just an Idea. 🤣🤣🤣🤔
well done :)
Cheers 👍
The fact he got those header bolts off is mind boggling. I spent days of blood sweat and tears with snapped bolts on my old R6 😂😂 his methodical approach was just not happening, wreck it Ralph approach doesn’t work by the way !
Oh for a bit of grease eh? 😎
Great video as usual. Slightly off topic question. I notice you have clothing hung up in the garage. Does it get fusty or do you have heating to keep damp off? I always worried about keeping clothing in my garage.
I look forward to watching this in full later today .
I thought it was a 600 . Do you ever look back and think , I took the wrong bike are was that part of the adventure?
Don’t bin the parts removed, I bet you could auction them for charity, particularly the tail piece, it’s seen some action! Binning it would just be wrong
Superb - just been out with the dogs in a hail storm. Spent a not insignificant time wondering if I need a GSXR 750...
If you were only allowed one bike forever more, would it be this one?
Ahh, the life cycle of a GSXR. Love, race, adventure, abuse...restoration.
Although it looks like you might have WD-40 sponsorship…
Have you tried Plus Gas as a releasing oil I’ve found it loads better.
Be interested to c how much more mileage you can get outa the old girl in normal day to day running and track days etc. It’s a bit like an old taxi that gixxer lots of mileage clocked in a fairly short time and not so many cold starts they do big miles
The bolt has seized to the bush… the rear suspension is going to be a pain in the bum
Some bike hope a see it , bring it up Inveraray in the summer ya big s××××bag, bet ye canny
Another how to clean your bike vid imminent 😅
“WD40 give away coming soon”
Get yourself some BDX penetrating lubricant instead of WD40 works much better
