i am a first time rc boat buyer ... new to your page and a new fan . I subscribed.. Your channel helped me alot the past few days. Me and my son are starting to upgrade all our toys and are moving up to faster vehicles. I have the 2nd boat and was blown away by how good it is. I took a punt not really expecting much because it was so cheap but the brush less bit got me and I bit lol glad I did. Great vid hope, I would love an atomic that looks the "bomb" 🤣🤣👍

Love the videos guys and this helped me decide. I watched your other boat videos as well but I think this cheaper one is for me to see if I will like the boat portion of the hobby. I am all ground vehicles now slow and fast but we will see how this goes.

Now I have 3 boats within 2 months. I own the Vector SR48, the Proboat react 17 and the Proboat River Jet boat 23.
I prefer by far the SR48. Can't wait to buy the SR80 or the sonicwake 36 or the miss geiko

I am going to get a sailboat and a jet boat at the same time for a project I would like to do. That’s why I was writing those things 😂 I think at one point I wrote (attempted) a super short story or something. To name the boat if I remember correctly.

i agree... this boat is a very nice brushed rtr bang for the buck... if you don't like it at all then boats are not for you... i remember my first brushed boat back in 2005 was bigger cost $100 and was much slower...my first brushless boat was a aguacraft super vee which cost me around $300 without batteries or remote...

I made a comment on the sailboat before and giggled when you brought it up. It'll be nice if the maiden sail was your first video of 2020! If not, at least the first boat video. Whenever I decided to take my FT01 1 out again I found that I still had the battery plugged in, and the charger starts flashing when I turned it on. Did forgetting to unplug the battery ruin it then? Or can it be saved? I tried using just that balance to charge it and the charger still was flashing.

Hi, I know this is an old vidio. Just wanted to mention I have the Feilun ft012 and a Deerc2104. The Feilun was $84 and got the Deerc on Prime day for $79, $20 off.They are about the same speed but the Deerc seems a bit better made and a bit faster. The cool thing about the Dee is it is completely self rigthing. You can bash it with tight turns at full throttle. Through rough waves and it will keep going. Also has led lights,low battery alarm (works great) and was completly dry after several runs. It also is brightly colored to see from far away. Nice remote also. Could you do a review some time? Love your vids.I think the Deerc is the perfect buget boat.

New to rc boating. Retired, downsized and.fortunate enough to have a three year old grandson and a large pond. Browsed and purchased the H-101. Then saw your “2019 best of” video. I’m 70 and looking to pursue a new hobby. My question is: speed is nice, but reliability is more important. Is the Barbwire XL2 the Best Buy for the money? Your input is more important than the dozens of gear heads.
Well first of all David, congrats on being retired and for picking up a new hobby! It's always a blast getting into something new, especially RC 😃 You know, every boat on this list really is the best of its class and price point. If your budget allows for the Barbwire, go for it as you will Not be disappointed. I will say, that even the best will require tinkering and wrenching at some point. For example, even our Barbwire boats have had a miss hap before. Prop fell off on one of our five barbwire boats just a few minutes into running it. We could have prevented that by checking the prop nut before the first run. You mentioned in your latest “best of” video that the Barbwire XL2 is made and supported in the US. I’m having great difficulty accessing their site. I’ve only gotten parts information. I’m looking for retail outlets without success. Ordering on line has given me trouble as well. I’ve preordered through a distributor (King Cobra) in Florida, but their chat service can’t even tell me what year I might receive this product. In the meantime they’ve got my money. What should I do? Is there a retailer I can access, or am I at the mercy of the internet?

Generally speaking, yes, the water should be fairly calm. Lakes, ponds, calm rivers etc. Few rc boats will run in coastal conditions. If you live in a place where the lakes or rivers have a tendency to be a bit on the rough side, a boat like the Proboat Riverjet 23 is a good choice. Pretty fast and a lot of fun to run, and it will run jn the rougher stuff.
Rc sparks. Talking about Rapids.. check out his channel.. he use thrasher boat. Its large jet boat for Rapids. The inside got pump to pump water out the inside hull.

We won't yell at you for not finishing the sail boat Nate. My MTZ is two years in the making, so I think I've lost any and all rights to comment on the procrastination of a fellow RC brother lol. Hopefully she will be ready for sea trials this spring - sporting power patches and other cool bits of go-faster livery:)
And now that we know we get 2 kool points per sticker and 5 point per patch, the next important question beckons. If the boat runs 85-90 mph without stickers, how much faster will the same boat be with three power patches + four stickers? It will without a shadow of a doubt be the coolest rig on the lake based on the sticker count, but the speed increase is just as important. And we all know that stickers and stripes make all cars and boats go faster.
