I have done some boating, if u remove the rudder motor, use the existing mount for steering servo, then u can screw it in the bracket, instead of glueing, more permanent👌🏼 and if u do the same with engine mount and esc/reaciver u can get all screwed in place, good luck and have a nice day :)

You should put brushless in it just for fun. Maybe a mba micro? We actually use those Walmart boats for fishing we run our bate way out between trees and stuff that you can't cast to it's pretty fun. We even have one that we just have a line and hook on and actually hook fish and bring them in with the boat. I use those cheap 60 dollar Chinese dual motor 3s boats allot of fun. You should try it's fun trying to bring a fish to shore with a boat. 👍🤙✌️
Surface-piercing props aren’t cavitating, but rather they are entraining large air bubbles to prevent tiny air bubbles from forming from the pressure drop across the prop blade surface. The roostertail is just bonus. Whether one has to worry about cavitation at 1/10 scale is not so clear to me. But I love the surface piercing prop on my brushless Rio.
P.S. Most boat ESCs are full throttle whenever under power, they just dump the extra power that’s not going to the motor, is my understanding.

In its current state you couldn't get going fast enough to sink itself on a iceburg. Actually a iceburg might outrun it.

I bought 3 of those (they were a slightly different style and color) from the Clearance aisle at Walmart for $19.99 each. Mine go at least twice as fast as that. I was impressed for what they are. Wish I could post a vid on my reply.

given any boat you get from walmart is geared toward kids dont expect to do anything fancy out of the box. you can always swap out all its original electronics and possibly the motor too for some hobby grade. kinda interesting not alot of RC boat uses a gear reduction.

I had one of those and I sank it bc I upgraded it it did a nose dive then broke and sank
Make a video upgrading it like put a hell of good system in it but first put like a Chinese cheap system and then put like a really good system

It is no wonder kids are not getting into radio control as much as the industry needs to sustain themselves, if I got that I would not go for anything RC, I started with clockwork then remote also a Tamiya or two but were to fragile for my clumsy lack of driving skills and did not bother until I saw a TRAXXAS T-MAX and E-Max but broke them every time I used them probably because I put the most power I could find the T-Max got a huge nitro heli motor the E-Max got a couple of brushed 720 motors.
So nothing until I happened upon a 5th scale off-road meeting in Germany, I blagged some cash off my father and what I had in my post office account and bought a FG Marder 23cc gas buggy, but then had to wait another couple of months to get a stick transmitter and receiver and a receiver battery, then syphoned the 2 stroke lawnmower of it's petrol oil mix and annoyed every neighbour in a mile radius of home as there was a big woods not far from home. Eventually my parents used to take me to tracks and leave me there all day, the rest is history, but the cheap toy grade nearly put me off for good. Even when first I tried to race rarely got passed practice or qualifying due to breakages or and bad driving but thanks to all there I got loads of help and hand down parts and then I raced, I have found the 5th scale guys not so serious as other smaller scales were and it is still like that practice qualify barbeque beer sleep out of the tent and repeat they did not take themselves seriously but once on the track different people and that was my kind of racing.

Bought this a week ago…The box that holds all the electronics got water inside. Now it don’t work. Waste of $30…I’m going to see what happens if it drys out.

Props CAN cavitate under a boat.....that’s what all the old RC boats had........which is why surface piecing prop systems are the rage for the last 25+ years😎
$30 more you can have a real proboat jet boat. We have a fleet for racing in the swimming pool......it’s a real toy boat.
Great boat for kids I bought a hundred dollar one on Amazon and it broke in the first use.
Could make a cheap rescue boat for the real boats that break in the middle of a lake.

Cool looking boat. Even if you don't increase the speed much, it will be much nicer to use with proportional control.
I bet it would be easy enough to bodge a bigger motor in, though. Maybe a 390 from someone like a wltoys...

Those little brushed motors just don't have much thermal headroom!
I tend to go to brushless for stuff with motors this small to avoid the issue. A little 280/370 size brushless motor and esc are dirt cheap these days and they have way more performance AND much better thermal properties. Chances are you won't need the throttle EPA to be 100% either which will further help heat matters.
It might sound a little elaborate but those little brushless motors are way tougher and better performing and you can always move it between projects.
