I'm older, like 61 and I never thought the glorious days of the late 60's and early 70's would be back. As a child looking at the 68 coda and chevelle and those big blocks wailing was the best. I'm getting me s dodge charger rt with the scat pack! Fml, I'll never go back to a Honda civic again!
I'll be 60 later this year and I felt the same way...thought the days of true muscle cars was over. But I picked up a 2019 Charger Scat Pack and based on that car, this is the real muscle car era. My first car was a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and the Scat Pack makes it seems like a Pinto. The engine is much better, the transmission is much better, the brakes are much better and it even sounds better. I can't imagine how stupid fast a Hellcat is, but the Scat Pack is more than enough car for the street. If you are a muscle car fan and need to seat more than 2 adults, the Scat Pack is the car for you.
I'm debating between getting a truck or the Scatpack. By the way...I also drive a Honda Civic...lol!!
@@pierre-richardromain6708 I promise you that EVERYTIME you start that Scatpack up and drive it you will smile ear to ear!
@@MrPhuctard I bet you I will...lol! I saw an Indigo Blue Scatpack in my area for $37K. Not bad!
".....like 61"....?
are you sure youre not 13?
The sound of a Hellcat going flat out is hard to rival.
Excuse me, this GT350R would like to have a word with you. Also, the Lexus LFA has the greatest exhaust note ever made into a production car. Everyone knows that. ;)
@@Gltokensp06 LFA is V10.
@@Gltokensp06 - exhaust note is only part of the equation. The scat pack in this review is really only exhaust note, but the hellcat with that supercharger is a whole different beast... and the addition of the supercharger whine is exceptional. It really is on the list of the best sounds, fighting for top honors. ;)
@@Gltokensp06 I agree those are good too...!
I'm sorry but as an owner of the kat and skat ..... no the exhaust is awful. Sounds the same the whine is amazing that's about it. The low growl is weak. The ford is greatness and lexus .... I dont know about that... lexus... ha hahahaha no.
gotta appreciate that 2020 wide body design
Am I the only one that got a bit hypnotized by watching the optical illusion of the wheels going backwards?
I traded in my 2015 Challenger Hellcat for this 2020 widebody charger Scat Pack. I loved the Hellcat, but I absolutely love this widebody even more. I know it's down on power, but this widebody is so awesome and drives and handles so much better, that I'm not missing the Hellcat at all. This is a much more fun car to drive, you often had to work at keeping that Hellcat in check.
I traded in a Charger R/T on a Charger Scat Pack Widebody and I felt every bit of difference in power and handling - the difference is so amazing that's it's Definitely worth it to me!!!
Im a Z06 owner and rented a Scat Pack and fell in love with it....(regular body)
I bought this car in black last year. Best decision I made in a long time. The car has the most bang for your buck. So much power at such a low cost. The V8 engine is so robust and refined. As long as you baby it and maintain it. I will last for a long time.
Straight and to the point review without goofy background music. Perfect.
The charger is the f150 of big sedans. The charger has multiple options, multiple engines, and trim levels. Plus the car just looks menacing no matter what trim you get. Pretty much this a 4 door muscle car.
indeed
Except the f150 looks ugly lmao
Hahahah this is every vehicle model produced ... the hell is this comment even mean?!
Not aluminum.....
Family muscle car
Definitely one of my top choices, too!
Another great review! Thanks Alex!
It’s beautiful. Love everything about it. You’re right, I want the non-blown version with the suspension flared fender option. The stripes and carbon fluff along with the deck spoiler is not what I’d have on this beast either.
It is an excellent platform, and love almost everything about my Challenger SRT8. Internally it's still stock, but I have done a lot of mods to it and has been a great car all around
ill be getting one of these, man am i excited.
Those widebody chargers are so nice!
Well done sir. Quality analysis.
Fantastic review....thank you!!
Just went a reserved a Go Mango wide body with the dual carbon stripes just like this one! The orders go out in Jan. So excited!
As always, Alex with the clean reviews.
Wish I had some of these 305's on my 2019 scat pack! Mine came stock with 245's and believe me, those do NOT hold traction.
And yes, the sound is intoxicating.
William Elliott I’m so confused as to what dodge was thinking when they put 245s on the scat pack. I can’t even pull out into traffic in the rain without getting sideways, it’s literally impossible unless you’re in eco and driving like an old lady.😂😂
305s with the widebody are a great combination! but I've heard those Pirelli tires are not so great.
I have the Dynamics package on mine with the 275s and I don't really have any issues with traction. The Pirelli tires aren't the best but they aren't terrible either. At least for a daily.
I'm looking to update my 245's too. Luckily the stock rim will hold a 275 but the fact that they put 245's on it in the first place is nuts.
I just bought some "Factory Reproductions" Hellcat wheels.
Fronts are 20x9.5 +15 offset and the rears are 20x10.5 +25 offset. This allows me to run 275/40 tires on the front and 305/35 tires on the back. Looks amazing on my Chrysler 300 but the same set up works on the Chargers.
I’ll take the American Muscle all day long.
❤
Made by an italian group. Yes.
Bob Outélama owned.
@@boboutelama5748 the same group that also owns freaking Ferrari!
@@DR_Bloom86 Not the same price tag. This one is probably more created by the legendary Multipla and Brava engineer. Start searching the carbon fiber and the evolved aero shape if you don't believe me. You won't find them.
Aside from the MDS system (cylinder deactivation) liking to destroy camshafts, this option tends to be very reliable overall because it's so old. Most of the kinks have been worked out by now. If you don't care about modern interior design, these are a great option, even if you only get the base 3.6L. I'm no FCA fanboy but if I had the option to pick one of their vehicles, this would be it. The ZF trans is unbelievably good as well, regardless of which engine you get.
Great video! Lots of good info, Thank you
Dodge managed to keep an ancient platform relevant and fun while outselling the competition in the process. It's something about these Chargers and Challengers that puts a smile on my face; they remind me of the "good old days". 👏🏻
Changed my mind. It's growing on me.
great review
I know people is going to say how unreliable FCA cars are, but my 2016 Dodge Charger Scat Pack has been very reliable... I haven’t had not one issue with my car and I have 120,000 miles. This Engine and Transmission combo is a tried and true design...I am now going to get a widebody Scatpack... I also know that the interior is old and some bits are cheap feeling, but it’s also a very functional and easy to use interior. I probably wouldn’t buy any other FCA product not unless it has a Hemi and a ZF 8 speed...
I have a 2011 SE model with 218,000 miles on it. I've only had an issue with the starter. I'm so pleased with the quality I just bought a Scat Pack too.
120k miles on a 2016???? HOLY SHIT!!!! Makes me feel better about my 99k miles on my 2010 Lol
Hindsight Is 2020 yeah I drive 60 miles a day each way to work and I bought it Sep 2015
@@windanthonystream Holy shit. Any issues other than maintenance? Drivetrain issues?
Good video man I like your cameras while driving
Badass car I want that... that's a real car with rear wheel drive and a real motor 👍 real American car
Hi Alex...I thoroughly enjoyed your review of the 2020 Dodge Scat Pack Widebody, I was wondering if you intend to give out some scores as you usually do for Acceleration,Braking,Handling , etc..would be much appreciated.Regards
I listen to a lot of car reviews, but urs is no doubt are always the best one. Keep up the good work man. 👍🏻
Very detailed & informative review.
I agree you you 150%!!
Would you be doing a full review of the scatpack? Would love to hear your thoughts from a few days of driving.
Looks great.
Embargo lifted! Release the Hounds!
Alex, thank you for mentioning that golf clubs could fit. Much appreciated.
Its nice to see a scat pack review. Its seems 90% of anything challenger and charger related on youtube is about the demon or hellcat. I have a 19 challenger scat pack and absolutely love it even though its not a wide body. A scat pack is the sweet spot. You can get into it and not be afraid you'll end up in a ditch like you can a hellcat. If you can't control the power or would be afraid of it then whats the point?
Hands down LOVE the new wide body 2020 Scatpack . I’m looking forward to finishing school and getting one . Only thing that gets me about this video is why did he compare this Scatpack to the Toyota Avalon ? It’s like a night and day difference lol ..
This particular segment
I'm so happy to see this review! I've been thinking about getting a scat pack 😛
I had one - I enjoyed it. Sounds amazing but wished it was super or turbo charged because you only get access to that 475hp at 6100rpm - which also sounds like thunder because exhaust is so loud. Really think about that - you only get your power at redline. How often do you drive around town redlining your car? Never... Hopefully never. When you do the exhaust is so loud you can hear it a half mile away - That part annoyed me as someone that doesn't necessarily want a ton of attention. If that doesn't bother you, it's fantastic. Back seat isn't as big as you'd think but it's fine. The hellcat is too much - absolute nonsense in a 2WD car, I don't mean that in a lame way either - the Scat Pack will try and kill you on turns enough, the hellcat wants to take you into ditches constantly.
Simply a great sedan, nuff said.
For this sexy beast in 2020 I'd like to say thank you America
I love the Daytona.
Really working hard for a 2020 charger widebody it’s beautiful
Good Luck🙏 Get that 🍞 bro
Not worth it
@@MR_FN509 especially when the 797 version is coming the year after
@@jrodzilla24 they havent announced about for a 797 in the charger just the challenger. Also if you are looking at the Scat Pack the hellcat at 707 or 797 is a whole different level.
Wait about 5yrs, the market will be flooded with these, save up a decent down payment and you’ll be able to get a nice low monthly payment, I wish I had waited I’d be driving a scat pack instead of an R/T, don’t get me wrong the R/T is fun, affordable and decent on gas but the scat pack is the best bang for your buck
I love this car
And I need to order one.
I would by another vehicle before than Charger. A Giulia Qv maybe, but that kind of vehicles are living out of my list. That's the principal reason, I don't need a four doors sedan. I'm prefer a big cargo part, like one Suv even though I don't like to much the suv, s, but loving the mountains where the winter is cold I don't have many crazy 🤪 car's on my list that Challenger, s, etc. (only one to have on my garage and be a gentle ride during the summer wich can be ridiculous to have on my garage during 6 monts per year) but in 11 months I will have the answer.
Nice and prudents reviews !! Be safe😋
How did the MSRP as shown jump down to 45,995? You said 54 at the start of video
One day I will own one of these bad boys
This is the only vehicle I must have it Alex.
The Hellcat is extremely awesome and I love it, but if you aren't on a track all the time and you want a fast muscle car just to launch around town, this is probably the option. This car is by no means tame, but I would feel more confident driving fast without immediately losing control like a hellcat.
Just bought one, a 2020 with the Dynamics package so it has 275s. It's awesome. Question for my brothers and sisters here... some have said the Pirelli's aren't the best. What did you guys go with when it was time to replace them? What didn't you like about the Pirelli's? Thanks.
Awesome I Love it
2019/2020 Porsche Macan S review please
As much as I love the charger, I'm going for the srt Durango. Just because I need the room
Get a Divorce !
My local dodge dealer has a HORRIBLE reputation for service/honoring warranty and quality of work completed. Great car tho. I'd love to have one.
I saw a 2019 Toyota Camry TRD for $40,000.00 and this car is almost the same price with a bigger motor. I would Definitely get this car.
jolawil
And you’d be buying American Power👊
The scat pack for me is a budget 540i or m550i. Sure the bmw is nicer but is the delta between both the dodge and the bmw worth 60-30K?
I love that Mango Orange (go Clemson)!. I'm 6'2, 250, worried about those narrow looking seats- any larger guys have any insight?
@ottobaby0815 appreciate the feedback
This car is worth the good and bad that goes along with owning it. Nothing competes.
Heather Pope thinking about trading in my 2018 impala for it lol
With those crazy- wide front tires, what is the turning radius? Could you make a u-turn in that parking lot?!!
Mig Y with all that power im pretty sure a sharp turn + a stab of the throttle you can beat any normal turning radius 😂
Best channel on RUclips, bar none!
Great perspective since I’m actually considering an Avalon or a Charger. Sensible comfort vs thirsty V8 fun...🤔
There is also the 300, somewhere in between sensible comfort and "bat shit crazy"®. 😀
CLplusP get the charger. My dad has a scat pack and the fuel economy isn’t bad at all.
Charger all the way!!!
Looking at this and the 2019 g80 5.0
Coming from a Genesis owner it's simply luxury vs performance. Not to knock the G80's performance; it's just not a Charger lol
Should I get this after my IS F?
charger all day long!!
Was this Charger in Torred or Go ManGo?
Alex don't compare this with the Toyota Avalon but with Maserati which shares many interior parts
CHARGER!
I love this car but why does dodge need a while 1.4L more than the coyote 5.0L to have slightly hire figures?
Can you get this cheaper with a v6 300 hp engine???
I like this. It's like a Stinger except I can keep my mullet.
Oh No! A just sweared. 😂😂That Dodge Charger do it to you all the time.
Your videos are amazing, Alex. You review a vehicle that I would never, ever, ever consider purchasing and by the end of the video I'm thinking, "Hmm...well, gee whiz, maybe I should look at one." Get thee behind me, Satan. :)
Def trading in my scat pack challenger for a charger. My kids are going to thank me.
My Scat Charger gets 16 mpg city 23 mpg hwy. 70 mph on the flat with the A/C running. Those are my real fuel burn numbers for daily driving.
The sales numbers cited are inflated because of fleet sales (rental/police/government).
Is this Go mango orange?
If Dodge ever got the quality issues pinned down... Dodge has style and yank ready to go.
Low key this car as a coupe would be hot
What performance car doesn’t have some issues, whether it be paint, drive train, electrical? Honestly we’ve had 3 scat packs in our family and they’ve been great.
@@gymratt42 I'm glad you've enjoyed your scat packs. I like those challenger scat packs myself
Rilly Show thanks! I like all three (camaro, mustang and challenger). Was torn between buying any of the three, but the challenger/charger are so dang daily driver friendly because of the big interior room and huge trunk.
They Should have kept the srt 392 Interior 🤦♂️
If you were to make the charger a 2 door it would fly off the assembly line as fast as you can build them I'm old school and I would like to have one myself
Is that a go mango color
I will say your more on top of it than TFL.. I'm pretty sure that guy just completely wings it lol!
Maybe it’s cause the Avalon is boring?
Don’t talk to me about reliability. I’d rather blow my brains out then have to drive one of these horrible Japanese econoboxes.
I don’t care for Toyota Avalon last 400,000 years and 1,000,000,000 miles. Life is too short to drive boring cars
@Daniel Hernandez and for those people who don't like speed there is choice of a v6 Charger. No reason to drive and crash because you fell asleep driving a boring car.
Amen Big Truck!
FCA isnt that bad..its usually just annoying little fixes..
are they under the same insurance tier? I wonder how much fun stuff you can have with extra cash in the packet if you live in the city where this can run you several thousand dollars, but of course, if you live in somewhere insurance cost under 1,000 a year then go for the biggest, baddest car...
@Ian LOL Prius is another extreme
I do not understand the whole "I don't have traction with these skinny tires" in the scats. Is it fanboyism? I test drove one last week and it wasn't impressively fast and traction wasnt an issue. And I was gunning it
Comparing a Scatpack to a Avalon?🤔
Alex .. is "bat sh*t crazy" a technical term? 😂😂😂
Please, does anyone know what the top end on this beast
allan knight 190 , if tuned with a couple mods 205
So the dash board and all the doors have extra leather (double sticked leather) inside car... starting this year. So I dont understand why u say the inside isn't different. The car now has the amount of leather as the 300c which The charger has not ever had. Wthat about the carbon fiber around the instrument cluster, Alcantara steering wheel......all of that is new???????🤷♂️
I crossed shopped the scat pack charger against the stinger gt2. I'm a huge fan of v8's, but the twin turbo 6, awd and arguably more refined and better looking interior of the stinger sealed the deal for me.
Good choice same here I have a GT1. The charger is a cheap car with a good engine. The stinger is all around goodness
Might be nicer because it's newer🤷🏾♂️ but damn sure ain't faster
@@RamblingOmarr it's only 3/10 of a second faster which is on a prep track with a professional driver. in the real world I bet you with a normal driver with normal road conditions The awd stinger would beat the scat pack 10 times out of 10 Both in a 0 to 60 and a quarter mile.
@Living Life which means it will be reliable
@Living Life if you think Dodge is more reliable than kia then there's no help for you. It is one of the worst brands on the planet
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Which is better, Scatpack Charger or Challenger?
Or it’s it just based on personal preference
Personal
If you have only one rider the sleek lines of Challenger are way cooler, I have a 392 Challenger & the back seats are nearly inaccessable, good for stuff but not ppl, I love it, runs like bat from hell, looks swell
The interior is a deal breaker for me and I waited for the 2020 widebody i cant understand why FCA, wont do something with the nerf ball looking interior it’s the same as my 2015 SRT challenger I owned.
Ryan Roberson i agree but look at what the Korean’s are doing interior wise I’m talking just a little tweaking it’s not 1970 you can’t live in the past forever.
Ryan Roberson I LMAO after reading your reply the soul is geared toward a select few not my cup up tea either but look at the rest of their lineup as far as interiors. but like you I’d take a little plastic over some of the crap they putting out. The trunk the size of your backpack LOL.
I hope this stays for 3 more years because that when I can actually drive with a license
What makes you think it’ll be gone in 3 years?
Clit Commander I’ll saying it should stay for 3 years and also people might want a new design
Must be rich 16 and you get a scat pack brand new! god bless you, but you're not ready for a 06 rt.....
F8 KAT 2015s are going for $27k
In 5yrs the market will be flooded with low mile used cars still under warranty, there will be tons of scat packs and R/T’s for sale
Are fleet and police sales included in those sales totals?
Yes. 70,000 of those are rentals/police.
@@andrewkennedy9704 I have to say it takes a Dodge to catch a Dodge
@@mopar3925 not hard to catch a dodge. Most are at the repair shop.🤣
@@andrewkennedy9704 I have to say try not to hate the Dodge Challenger and charger is a 5 star vehicle get over it and accept it
@@andrewkennedy9704 I can believe that. Last year my friend ordered a nice 2019 392 daytona charger in that nice dark green color. The car arrived to the dealer with a big, all the way through the paint scratch on the driver's door. That was the 1st fix before he even drove the car. Whatever- happens. It took them a week to fix. Finally, we picked up the car, drove it 11 miles to his house and the thing shut off. Tried turning it on. It would turn on but sounded like was choking and kept shaking. Back to the dealer on a tow truck with 11 miles on the odo. For 10 day they didn't know what to do with it. At that point he wanted his money back which obviously didn't happen. Fun experience! Crysler corporate did give him I think 5 free oil changes for all the "excellent" new owner experience but dodge dealers still only honor 5 quarts free and make him pay for the rest, about $50 for his "free oil changes".
Since then the car has been fine with 7k miles on the odometer now.
U r the bast
The car is so huge, why is there no AWD option? I would love to get one of these but I live in the northeast and my place is on a hill where cars are regularly abandoned on when blizzards occur.
@@cen21brokr Not true, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has 707HP and AWD. You can get the Charger with the V6 and AWD, but the ZF 8 speed with AWD doesn't fit on the platform with the HEMI engine. They would have to reengineer the firewall/floorpan of the car.
Mitchell Rusk true. Only police can have awd hemi
They have a police package on the rt which is 385hp n awd
ihateshysters snow tires are amazing....
I live in the northeast. You’ll be fine
Nice review and I think a great value for an American V8 muscle sedan. Better enjoy em now with the cheap gas because one day they will be long gone and you'll have some kind of electric b.s. to drive around in.
Avalon?
What am I watching?
I love this car and I want it. Don't care if it's old or the interior is cheap.
DangerousDan exactly the interior dash is cheap but it’s functional and easy to use... I’m all about the power and the sexy looks on the exterior!!
