This is a sad thing. Challengers are so busy being admired thieves forget they were going to steal it before they get noticed 😂
Stay aware of your surroundings and be prepared to defend yourself and Hellcat at all times. If you carry a blicky with you, make sure you know how and when to use it appropriately.
With the way you type I bet you can’t shoot
Yessir can’t be driving this cars with no straps
if you call it a blicky you deserve to have it stolen from you along with the hellcat

I found this data on a mopar forum and did the math. 23194 Charger Hellcats produced (estimating 3000 for 2023) , 6128 stolen from 2020 through 2022. That means that about 26% of all Charger Hellcats produced were stolen in that time period. Damn...
Damn indeed!!!
Wow!!
If they're stealing, they're committing other crimes. Four doors are more convenient than two, when behaving badly. Just my guess.
Took the words right out of my mouth 💯
It’s really not that hard to figure out. It happens to be a certain demographic of people’s favorite car. They are the kids who stole your bikes when you were a kid all grown up.
@@andrewsmith5512
Certain Demographic?
Black guys!!! THERE, I said it! LOL😄
No lol their taking them for the engine and parts
@@EPICYELLOWHORSEbetter check the stats mountain people are number 1 in all crimes including car theft rape murder ect.
Best theft device I've found is the AK and Glock
I like those options too but they don't track where it's going after they steal it in seconds. Good to have other options as well. 😊
Easy fix: 25 years for auto theft over 50k. Nation wide Bait car taskforce. The end!
Over 80, most of them go after high trims
Don’t disagree with you, but you can option a GT to be over 50k
@@btcu11iqan68 More jail time for them LOL. Laws are suppose to deter crime not invite it. We went soft on crime and now look at the country. But your ass cant run up in no bank tho LOL.
It is scary. I just recovered my charger scat pack. Never thought it would happen to me but it did. I’m just glad the car came back with minor damage.
Glad you were able to get it back!
Wow how did they get it back ?
How did they steal it? Was it at your house?
I wouldn’t even. Want it back
Drive your Truck to the mall, grocery store and work. And only go to the root beer stand in your 70,000 $ MOPAR.

When you have 4 people it's easier to rob a bank or rob a store get in and out then you can in the challenger. You can haul your Boys around.😂 Great video RacerX! 😁👍
No wonder my insurance has increased! Dayum!🤦🏿♂️
Rt and sxt owners who put hellcat badge they will remove it lol
Pandora makes car and motorcycle security systems. The top of the line system has 1) Alarm 2) Starter lock-out 3) GPS tracking
the chargers are more targeted because they are a 4 door, and they can put more homies in the car.....
Sad that people have to go to such measures to protect their cars. Thanks for the video.
It definitely is
Huge fan of your channel man , I gotta say yeah it’s almost scary to own one here in TX , my brother’s 2017 scatpack was stolen and it was a charger too as well and worst part is it even got stolen from his job site and they had gates with pin pads and security system and car was taken by young thieves and they were driving a mopar as well , me myself I own a challenger scatpack 2019 and I’m scared to even take mine to the grocery store .
It's the value of the Charger that gets it stolen. They're after the money from stealing the Charger rather than getting an actual job to make regular money.
literally yesterday in my charger i was in my passenger seat installing lights and someone tried to break into my car while i was in there
wtf!
Wtf that’s crazy
Damn
My sons friend just brought a 392 charger had it 3 months before it was stolen and used in a shooting 😢just insane someone work hard for something just to have someone take it

I believe that the best theft deterrent is a manual
This comment makes me LMAO!
@@allengregory4067I'm in a Mopars owners Facebook group and the amount of times someone got their car broken into but couldn't take it just because the car was manual is fuckin insane. So "LMAO" all you want, manual drivers truly have the upper hand lol
@@StuntmanDanHemi I still think it is hilarious. Over 80% of the car people I know know how to drive a manual. In recent years I've personally known 9 people who have had a vehicle stolen. Six of them where manuals. The three autos where 2 pickup trucks and a charger. In my area manual cars are stolen left and right many later to be found and the only thing missing are the wheels, and were damaged from joyriding. So they definitely weren't stolen by professionals!
@@allengregory4067 that's the thing, chargers are hot right now solely because rappers keep putting them in videos. So you can be sure anyone who steals a charger specifically, is not Memphis Reins lol
Hi RacerX, i cannot wait to see your fresh new ride..!! Looking forward to it..! If have another question, can you perhaps show me what is needed to update my Dodge Challenger software because in Europe it is kind of a problem to fix that.. Downloaded the softeware according to mijn vin number but as soon as i plug in mij usb stick it wants to connect to a satelite.????? Why is that because it doesnt connect where i live..? Is there a fix for perhaps.?
Here I am a few hours after my challenger scatpack widebody was stolen 😔
I disagree with you when you say it isn't Dodge's fault. It is their fault for making them so easy to steal, and then not acknowledging and fixing that problem. Owning a TRX, this is 100% manufacturer fault in my opinion. Obviously this doesn't excuse the nefarious acts of theft, that is on the individuals, but they could step up and make some software or hardware changes.
Thank you for the awesome videos. Keep them coming bro! 👏👍🤝
I wonder if the Challenger being available in manual helps keep the numbers down. I know lots of people cant drive a manual any more.
I was thinking the same
These comments make me LMAO .
Well, only 3 employees at my local Dodge dealership can drive the stick cars into the shop. I think they have at least 25 employees.
I had to learn to double clutch for my 41 Power Wagon back in the day so I'm covered, another skill a lot of people will never know.
I was watching a zombie show with my girlfriend and the most realistic scene was a guy gets into a car, notices its a stick and then gets out to take his chance on foot, lol.
He’s not lying, some guy in Tampa Florida was finally caught n is linked to 18 stolen hellcats. He caught up to 20 charges for it
Good don’t let him out
Great content brother! 😎🤙
Awesome content buddy 💪👍🙏
Thanks for the Heads up!
Fellas, get a killswitch, and most of all, KEEP IT IN THE GARAGE!!!!! And get some tint, not only will it help keep the cabin temperature down, but you wont be looked at too much!
I believe they want the Charger more because they can fit more of their buddies in it and with the 4 doors they can make a quicker exit if they have to ditch the car and run.
For many reasons, I don't have to worry about my 2014 Mustang GT being stolen. It's a manual and it has an actual key, plus it only has two doors.
Yeah I have to beef up my scat packs theft deterrent stuff
it is a cultural thing and rap has a huge role to play. when rap GLORIFIES something, it puts it on the radar to be stolen. When some people who look like me see something thats pumped up in the hip hop community they steal it. think about every trend in hip hop. Those items become high theft items. And lets not pretend that one demographic isnt the majority stealing these cars. we need an honest conversation on this.
was looking for this comment... Jordans, Air Force Ones, (old reference but w/e) designer clothes... it's a big problem. DRILL music doesn't help either. but if you bring it up, you're racist, but bruh, BLACK PPL admit this amongst ourselves! lol just be real lol
@craighutchinson5045 100% I'm black and I've been black for almost 46 years so I've got no issue speaking the truth. I was actually going to mention jordans in my original comment but I was like nah watch someone get butthurt 🤣🤣🤣. People forget the movie new jersey drive. It's literally about hip hop influenced thieves stealing cars like acuras and lexuses which were popular at the time. Now hellcats are the thing. Haha
@@craighutchinson5045every race has their issues😂🤷🏾♂️ them Hispanics and white folks steal them just as much but ain't talked about lol of course
It’s a popular platform. Four doors, lots of room and fast. Historical vehicle design and post pandemic, jealousy, makes money and probably more money for black markets. Good video!
One fact to keep in mind X is that every Charger Hellcat is an automatic!
The 2023 challenger hellcat manual is on 717hp and it’s not a redeye jailbreak widebody
@@andrebiddle1250he talking about the charger
@@andrebiddle1250can you read?
Yup! And the Charger is a good platform to swap everything into a 300 C too.
I just bought a scatpack charger a week ago, and already thinking of selling it bc of this. Can’t even park the car at the mall or gas station without worrying about it being there by the time I come back
Mines Been broken into twice, just buy a brake lock and a car lock
It all has to do with the fact that you can have 4 people go to break into the car, jump in, and drive off easier in a 4 door vs a 2 door. They can also escape out easier if they’re caught too. This is why I’m glad I’ve got a Challenger Scat Pack 50th #69 out of 70 parked in my garage and not in my driveway. My husband and I love your videos and subscribe to your channel.
It's because the alarm on the chargers will not respond. When they break the back window out, it doesn't work, so they break the back window out on a challenger. If they break the window, the alarm goes off.
In the 90"s fox body mustang convertibles were too ez" you could unscrew take the antenna & pull back the top enough to pop the power door lock" or cut your top" later ones had a tighter thicker cable that runs along the top edge of the window, just FYI" put a remote start / alarm/starter kill, on both the 68" SE , but that lojack system w alerts, is a valuable asset
Hey Racer X. I have a 2023 rt 5.7 charger and want to put the 309 diff in it, but some people say it won't work because my axles are 220mm and the scat is 230mm and others say it won't matter. I know for sure I habe the 262 open diff because my build sheet says so, but I want the 309 diff badly but don't want to pay 12 to 1,400 and find out it won't work, is there anyone that knows for sure? Thanks for whatever help you can give.
The article said Hemi powered R/Ts are Hemi powered as well are they included in that stat or is it just 392s?
I've lived this. Twice in 90 days in the same location I was almost shot for my Hemi Charger. BTW it happened in Daytona Beach Fl.
bro are you serious? they tried to pull you out the car?
The Charger Hellcat is stolen the most bc not only is it more valuable but mainly the-hugs can quickly and easily fit more of their the-hug friends to go commit other crimes against humans.
Speaking to what happens in south Louisiana. Alot of the time these cars are stolen for the take overs. That's young guys who want to show out and bring their boys for the ride. Then they dump the car.
I had enough issues with my Widebody Scat Charger.. I got rid of it after a road trip to my fathers in LaQuinta Ca.. 3 break in attempts … absolutely dumb. I was also carrying a pistol. Thats pure stupid to have to deal with that… I’ve owned 2 Trackhawks as well.. no issues with those. Great uploads brother! 👊
just saw a video the other day of some guys trying to run down and steal a trackhawk by crashing into it on a highway. they were too dumb to know what a trackhawk was. now its becoming more known.
@@GuerrillaSMI bought my 2018 early.. then ordered the 2019 in March 2019. Never an issue
Not legal to be carrying a gun in CA, with a few very very narrow exceptions. Glad you didn't have to use it because you could have easily been the one in jail the way CA laws work.
@DefinitelyNotYouBurleyFurLick I don't doubt it. It's really only concentrated to places like Atlanta Chicago Detroit Memphis etc. Take what you want from that. But if you live in a decent city or town that doesn't have high crime you're probably fine
Wow I have a house in Rancho Mirage, ca that’s down the street basically . That’s good to know
I was recently seriously considering upgrading from my 2023 Charger GT to a HEMI powered RT. After seeing this vid I think I'll keep my beautiful V6 powered Charger GT!
Nothing wrong with a v6, they’re clean asf either way
I’d get the Rt they’re prices are pretty good right now honestly I overpaid when I got mine
@@Jakes5.7they’re like the same price as the camaro ss and 5.0s??
I have less than 300 miles on my 2023 Charger GT PLUS in Sinamon Stick. The thousands I'd lose in a trade just makes no sense for an extra 70 hp , an increase in gas consumption and higher insurance rates. I admit I'd love that V8 sound, but since I'd be using it ( mostly) as a daily driver in my suburb, that decission isn't cost effective.@@Jakes5.7
@@Itslexii43 absolutely not, they are much cheaper then their counterparts
This helps explains why there are many more Hemi Chargers driving "exhibition" style in my rough and tumble neighborhood than Challengers.
What’s really happening is that there’s a black market where people steal hellcat and scat packs and sell it to chop shops where the strip it down, sell it for parts or scratch off vin put new one and resell it overseas
Hello racer x I have a 2015 Dodge charger Rallye package it only 8900 miles on it is it worth keeping I inherited it from my dad it's it's in the garage what's the best way to keep the battery charged and I take it out once a month and try to put about 20-30 miles on it I've been doing that for the last is it worth selling or should I keep it it has every option except the sunroof
It’s your dads.. I would keep it and enjoy it for a while. Start it once a week at minimum and let it run for a few minutes.
It makes it much harder to steal when it’s parked in the garage.
4 doors on the charger all the goons can load in for a night of horsing around !
Owner of garage kept redeye HC charger.
I use faraday keyfob case (to block my keyfob signal) + metal plate installed ontop of neutral release pull strap as another deterent. Lastly working to restore my 2A for full peace of mind.
Usually only take the car out if I am going to be staying in it actively driving lol I rarely leave it parked out anywhere.
Super beat having to be so cautious :/ but shes a beaut !!
"WHO'S Stealing them"...yeah We know.
Nobody asked who lol
I guess when they're doing donuts they can have 3 guys hanging out the windows with the charger
Most of these Hellcat Chargers that are stolen are parked outside of the garage that is full of stuff. 😂😂😂
But it can fit the wife’s minivan.
😂😂😂👍🏻
Must be a certain way they are defeating the stock security system. My jeep was stolen and recovered. I put in an immobalizer that requires a key to cylinder thats hidden. I doubt they could get it again. as they have no idea why it wouldntnt start. If they ant get in and on the way quickly theyll just abandon it. Stayig stock or with devices that monitor the car are not preventng theft but aiding in recovery. A high speed chase etc. perhaps the charger is easier to defeat the security in. i suspect they are being stolen for the motors more than joy riding.
The light in the aerodynamic
How about the charger scat pack, I keep mine in the garage when I’m home and when I’m not I have full full coverage on it
Hellcat or scatpack in widebody !! I am going used. Will I regret not getting the hellcat ? Racer x thoughts ?
I got a GT v6 is that attracting anyone since it looks like a RT etc!?
to all hellcat, scat pack and RT owners, get the IGLA and compustar system, and dont forget the Neutral release switch cover!!
If you’re good with computers and electronics modules, and have the equipment and knowledge to hack them and track the devices, it is very easy to steal cars nowadays
My buddy and I designed our own anti theft devices. Impossible to steal out Hellcats. They can’t even turn the car on. They would have to drag it away.
Owners of Dodge vehicles should get free security upgrades asap from Stellantis
I personally think they’re stealing chargers more just because they hold more people, idk abt y’all but the challenger is more clean than the charger
What about the Durango RT? That is my daily driver. My Charger scat pack sits in the garage. Thanks for the information about a system to prevent theft.
No body is stealing that
@@katyrebel18 I know its like a family fast getty up suv
@@katyrebel18I agree, even though it’s fully loaded and I paid a lot more for it than the charger. I don’t worry about leaving it in a parking lot. It’s not a target.
Its a 4 door, easier for them and their homies to escape when PoPo catch em.....
Makes me feel a little better about having a Challenger Scat Pack. lol
Also, the Charger Hellcat is like the hood lambo.
Does this apply to Quebec, Canada? The most stolen vehicles here are all SUV's. I love the Charger Hellcat !
I can't say why but you nailed it with culture and rap enjoyers.
These vehicles are stolen because the parts are interchangeable with earlier models. That's one of the main problems with having a 10 plus year platform.
This was problem for the 80's mustang also
I was in my gt in Detroit n I couldn’t even go to the park , and if we went to the store or to get food someone had to stay in the car it was intense , I could hardly sleep that night at my hotel .
3 Main Reasons:
1. The Hellcat/Scat Packs are some of the fastest sedans while simultaneously being the most affordable and common. They'll most likely be stolen because of easy accessibility and how fast those cars can be, especially while running from the police or participating in various crimes.
2. Poor security measures. Compared to other cars, the Hellcat is very easy to break into and start up. If it was the opposite, then obviously the number wouldn't be exponential compared to other cars (or at the very least, the number would be lower).
3. Going back to reason 1, a high abundance of cheap luxury sedans that are quite fast, such as Chargers and Challengers in high crime neighborhoods, would just make these numbers go up significantly more than say a rich neighborhood. It's a brutal cycle of buying, driving for two days, and then having it come out stolen.
Well, the other part of the equation is do we need to make changes to the laws covering this type of crime. Like any minors involved to be processed as an adult. Also, extending the actual jail time if convicted. Maybe eliminating the possible early release with good behavior.
💯 I’m all for extreme measures over it but you’re far more reasonable with your proposal. They need to be punished for this or it’s never going to stop.
If they aren't stealing V6 Chargers that means they want the Hemi engine not the body panels or interior
I don’t have a hellcat charger but I do have a 2013 charger SRT. Should I also worry as much?
My scat pack challenger was stolen in front of my driveway worst part about it i had it locked down 2 different ways steering wheel big metal lock and foot pedal they still got it pass never again these cars arent worth it
same here bro they took my scat (charger) i lost mad bread around 30k and you’re not lying the cars are not worth it. im going full bmw now maybe m3, m4
Well, I’m looking on the bright side, I have a challenger hellcat, lol I always make sure I put my steering wheel lock when I go into a store or anything just as another deterrent
I also have a challenger hellcat and the Tazer by ZAutomotive and a neutral strap cover are a must.

you can load more friends into a charger 😂, also I wonder what the % is owner fraud. My next door neighboor's older hemi charger was stolen, he found it thankfully.
They can probably pull more out of it to sell. Like watching your videos.
I know you didn't mean to, but you're never gonna get that toothpaste back in the tube
Well here’s a thought. Ford and Chevy dont make 4 door sports car that u can outrun a cop with your homies in the back seat and escape out 4 doors if needed. As a dodge owner I am thankful for your video and my husband and I are both huge fans. Ordered my gps tracker and also other things put in place to prevent thieves.
All the chargers scat pack and up are getting stolen regularly now almost all my nabors gotten rid of them after having them broken into
I had my 2020 charger r/t stolen 2 years ago. Walked into the mall, 15 minutes later walked out and it was gone and never found. At the time I didn’t think newer cars could be stolen so easily…. Now I know.
That sucks
got my scat stolen like two months ago, i felt the same way
The look of the charger overall is beautiful
This doesnt look like a delivery video for the Demon, Mr.X 😅
I had challenger hellcat wide body for 4 years and always parked outside, nothing happened (in LA)
I always put cover on it
Not only the Hellcats also the Scats and R/T's, not as often but it happens. If you get a Dodge just be aware you will get a lot of attention sometimes not the kind you want.
Hey bro long time no talk! How ya been?
O4 doors 4 windows we are seeing them rolling down all 4 windows to shoot out of or its easier for 4 guys to get out of 4 doors to do a rip or rob a store!
...The Charger Hellcat drivetrain and interiors can be basically bolted in older chargers or cheap V6 models. I have heard old Chargers wizz by with a supercharger whine knowing it has a Hellcat engine in it!!!
Hi I'm a law enforcement officer as first-time Mopar Owner 2020 smoke show Hellcat charger. And we get calls a lot for stolen charger and some car jack Chargers. And one of the reasons I think it is charger is stolen more is just the appearance along with the charger is a four-door so a lot of the people that are going to steal them are going to Joyride them and are going to want to be able to pick up several friends which makes the 4-door charger a lot more practical is Odd as it sounds
Thugs like the Charger in 2023 like the pimps, playa’s and OG’s liked the Cadillac back in the 70s! Just keeping it real!😉😎😎
It is much easier to steal a charger than challenger. When u bust the little back window the alarm does not trigger. Also, a manual is a natural theft deterient. I beat almost all the challengers stolen were automatics.
Maybe the chargers are less likely to be garage kept vs the challenger variant?
It's the social media glorification causing this.
That and they're fun as hell...
I think it is because it has 4 doors. If they are being pursued by the police. It is much easier to exit the back with 4 doors vs 2 when they have to make a run
How are they bypassing the key fobs to steal the car?? Also, all the newer Mopars come with SiriusXM Guardian, 3 yr free trial ... you can track the car with that and have it disabled.
The Dodge Charger, especially the Scat Pack and up, are absolutely unique in the market. Dodge made an in your face hot rod like no one else has the courage to do.
This car attracts all walks of life. Some love it because of its uniqueness, 800 hp grocery getter, c'mon man. Some its status. Either way, the Hellcat, and even Scat Pack Chargers were instant icons.
Then we have the ancient technology in terms of theft prevention. It's just too tempting for those disposed to that type of behavior.
Just do your best to make ot difficult. Make sure your insurance is paid up and you have gap if your making payments. Most importantly, enjoy the heck out if it! Don't waste time on the gloom and doom stuff.
Your new Demon puts you at risk too X
Yes even more so unfortunately
I mean…I have an R/T Daytona and I have no idea if it’s in danger lol it is pretty loud so I’ll hear it start
