Fun fact 2 yrs ago I watch this same video. Fast forward 2022 in April I finally got my hands on one and I’m only 23. I’m saying this to anybody reading this bro do not stress ya self be patient as long as you focus on your goals you can do it. I appreciate it you brother for the info once again 🙏🏾
Racer X bro the way you break s*** now you like a freaking scientist just everything you say make sense I'm Fanning out your knowledge on cars I like I like how you explain things thanks for another great video.🔥🔥🔥💯👏👏👏
Great information for new owners.. love the channel.. I feel like the diff brace is right up there with the driveshaft. But I can’t agree more about the 275s... it’s fun but if you aren’t use to the car It WILL get away from you.
I’ll probably never even take my hellcat to the drag strip. Just play around on the street. Would like the better tires and was wondering if a demon or redeye drive shaft be a bolt in procedure. Mine is a manual. Don’t know if the drive shaft would be different. I know the demons and redeye only are auto. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks !
Lewis Shepard .. you won’t be able to go with the demon or Redeye driveshaft since they are a different length than your manual car.. get you a DSS driveshaft and you should be in good shape
Rule #5 tho I must detest a little! Hehe. One thing you got to keep in mind is your car has 1000 hp too. So your manual shifts in 1st and 2nd are like twice as fast as mine. Getting the best 0-100 times I find manual shift on the street easier to get traction. Typically I short shift 1st gear around 4-4500. And then stab second once I’m at about 25-30 mph. One thing I will say from a roll when it’s cold outside.. just put it in all automatic track mode at about 40-50 and just nail it. I’ve noticed it must sometimes cut a little timing when your in M shifting from a roll.. Because the car is definitely faster from a Roll in track mode just stomping it in auto. Not just because of how it shifts. It’s literally making more power I can feel it in the pull.
matt someone with an SRT .. under stock loads if your really precise you might be able to gain a slight amount but if you miss it can definitely cost you.. as long as your confident that you can hit that shift just right definitely rock it.. the great thing is that these auto never miss 👍
Great info. I do not know much about wrenching and performance when it comes to these babies. I do learn from watching these types of videos. I've always wondered about all of the extra torque when it came to the stock driveshaft. All of what you said makes complete and total sense. Thanks for the info.
I remember when my 1998 Ram SS/T was just a few months old, I took it to Music City Raceway (1/8 mile) to see what it would do bone stock. I had all these plans for hot rodding it, and haven't yet. Anyway, it ran two 10.33's in a row and a 10.34. Slow, but I should have bracket raced it. This woman, who had a 1997 Ram 5.9 short bed with a Mopar Performance ECM and aftermarket exhaust, came up to me asking me what I had done to the truck to run those times. Being the smart mouth I am, I told her I put 92 octane in it. She then asked me what RPM I was shifting at. I told her I didn't know because I put it in "D" and let it shift when it wants to. Apparently, she had been column shifting it around 5700 RPMs which is beyond that engine's power band. I told her to try putting it in drive and put the pedal on the floor. The next pass, she improved her 10.56 to a 9.97. All that to say you're right about letting an automatic do its thing.
GLHS592 .. lol absolutely my friend.. and nowadays these transmissions are incredibly efficient! That’s one of the biggest improvements in modern cars is the automatic transmission 👍
And I bought my Challenger T/A with a 6 speed manual. LOL! I know the automatic is faster, but the 392 Hemi mated to the Tremec 6060 is just way too much fun!
I just sold my Daytona yesterday in preparation of buying a Redeye or a low mileage wide body hellcat. Looking at a few this week to see which one I’ll like the most.
Racer X as usual great video. It's cold up here and snowing today. But as I said to you if not for watching you I've learned a lot from you it's never thought you could teach an old school guy something new but I come from the day as you know of 69 Camaros with big block Chevys there is no comparison. And you're 100% right 275 on a Hellcat charger can lead to catastrophic events even at a 65 mile-an-hour roll punching at the pass the car will get away from you. So I'm glad I got that advice from you long before I got insane with it. My next video which will be done this week is dedicated to you I've hit a milestone 2 50 subscribers LOL. I noticed one of the commercials on your RUclips is for til Valhalla project to help prevent veteran suicide. I am one of the founding members. Stay tuned for my video what should be done this week. My upgrade list because I want to keep the warranty. Mid muffler delete. Drive shaft. Differential brace. Mfer-1 active exhaust valve delete. Twin 450 fuel pumps with stock pulleys 305 Mickey Thompson Street strips on 20 by 11 Hellcat forged wheels. By the way I think the fuel pumps even with the car stock will improve the performance did a lot of reading on it. But it will lower the mpg. but my logic is if you got a car like this you can afford the gas. God bless u EX look for my next video I'll probably have it done next weekend
I just finished breaking in my Charger 392 Scat Pack according to the manual, with 1500 miles being the last limit. I took out it out try the line lock and launch control for the first time. I put it in manual and 2nd gear for line lock and forgot to shift. I hit the rev limiter (RL) for a few seconds, which made me feel pretty stupid. I found out that if I shifted to 2nd in manual and then put it back in auto as you suggest, before I use the line lock, it would start out in 2nd gear, which will be what I will do in the future. Need to upgrade the rear tires, though. The 245s might as well be bicycle tires with the 392! 🙂
Thank you! I learned a lot from this video! I honestly think I’m going to keep my car stock or maybe just add a cold air intake amd a mid muffler delete.. I’m just worried about voiding the warranty with those 2 small things.
Love your videos, you deserve way more subs. I have a 2017 Challenger R/T I plan on getting a Scat but I’m not sure if I want a Challenger again or go with a Charger. Anyways keep the videos coming.
Good stuff as always, just got my 2020 challenger hellcat and couldn't find anything on them making any improvements to the DS, it would make sense because they went from 707 to 717. I want to get DR but also don't want hurt the DS, no track for me, yet at least just driving on the streets.
Great video, I got myself a new Torr Red Hellcat for Christmas! Already got the Nittos on it. And the JLT oil separator and the cold air induction kit. Per4mance diff braces are on there way for both the T/A and the Hellcat. Hellcat is a beautiful 2018 that I got out of Upper State N.Y with only 840 miles on her! Thanks Bro! I'm following you and B. Mason, Speedys Garage. Guy's that are the real deal.
I have a custom welded exhaust called a tunnel ram .. it’s a full cat back system and it’s aggressive but sounds fantastic.. no cats. I have not lowered to the car at all.. I need all the weight transfer I can get at the track 👍
I have an 18 scat and can’t wait to burn through the 245’s they put on them! Still trying to decide on the 275’s I should get. I live in FL so we get a ton of rain.
What car is that exactly? I love the exterior and interior. Did you get all that from the dealership or did you have to go to other places to customize the car?
Great! Hah I like how you made tires rule 1 and what you said. It’s funny I say the exact same thing on the forum. Those 275 p zero are dangerous. Your absolutely right too, you can blow them off at 70 or 80 on stock power. Not only should you get bigger tires I recommend wheel replicas for about 1000 bucks I got 10.5 all four corners. And staggered 285f/295 Rear Michelin Ps4s. Great all around traction on the street.
Great info RacerX. I bought a 2019 Charger Hellcat in November and wanted to know if it’s really safe to run the 305/35/20 Nitto 555R’s like you have in the rear on the stock Hellcat wheels? My wheels are identical to yours. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Wow really good tips I might add 1 more, Don't race unless you can afford to pay for what breaks.
Definitely a good rule of thumb for any car enthusiast 👍
If you have a hellcat you’re most likely gonna race it at some point maybe don’t race it at the strip
More like 5 things you must do to your Hellcat.

I guess so you can rotate tires to extend the use of them rather than keep replacing the rears, but i do agree with you.
It’s nice to be able to rotate them the thing just makes too much power.. definitely can’t use the power with the stockers on there 👍
