The plot twist reminds me of the theory surrounding the passing of JonBenét Ramsey where they say the brother killed her on accident and the mom and dad covered for him

Personally I cannot take the film seriously after that plot twist where is the original blood test of the original movie was actually good this was over the top and just silly like a Scream movie which is okay for scream that's supposed to be comedy
Scream is supposed to be horror comedy and this was just silly they might as well have been joing forces

Great reaction! Orphan was a hidden gem of a film and I found Orphan: First Kill to be surprisingly twisted. The plot twist took this prequel to a whole other level. Isabelle Fuhrman as Esther creeped me out even more now that she is older.
Technically she's supposed to be YOUNGER,though.@.@
That last shot of Esther’s face with a tear running down her face, knowing she will never be a free person because of her physical condition. Waiting to go to yet another unwanted family. That kind of made the whole movie for me.
You know a movie is great when you atart rooting for esther! Great plot twist!
Gunnar seems to be the Golden Child his mother will protect at all costs at the expense of her poor dead little girl!
She avenged Esthers murder.
That family was terrible minus the dad.
I liked this better than the original.
I guess, but I doubt that's what was going through her head when she was hunting them down. We have to remember that leena is a cold sociopath, she doesn't care about anyone but herself and her survival.
This is why I like the film. It had a plot twist that came out of nowhere.
Same, I thought my eyesight was f'ing up. There was a haze..maybe it's for hiding the age? Also the 'adult' actors wore platform shoes to make Ester appear as a kid. There's a photo on twitter. Pretty cool

I know Elena as Esther gets killed off in the original. But I mean it’s a horror movie. The killer always comes back right? 😭
@@Angel11a that's what I was saying they can make another timeline where it's based on the alternate ending. They're thinking about maybe doing orphan 3 if first kill is good, so if there is a orphan 3 then another timeline should either by based on the alternate ending, or about Esther's biological family.
The producers are actually thinking of a third movie and Isabelle Fuhrman wants to come back but it depends on the success of the film.
Thye can just say they never found her body in the lake at the end of the first movie.

there is an episode of Law & order special victims unit about a girl pretending to be the lost daughter in a home with a dark secret, it's like this movie, girl you chose the wrong family, the big sister knew she was a fraud because she killed the little sister, the detectives barely saved the imposter, and the big sister said something like "she was so annoying that I had to kill her twice"
Exactly. When the mother killed the detective at 1st I was like:"WTF???WHY???O____O",then I thought of that episode _and_ ep 1x04 of"Wolf Creek"and thought: "OOOOHHH,WAIT!Maybe _the mom_ killed the real Esther!!😱"and when it was revealed it was actually the brother I thought:"Well...close enough.😝"and I also thought of"The Good Son"movie.(ALSO the scene where both the mom and"Esther"were hanging and the dad had to save them reminded me of"The Good Son".)

One of the best horror sequels that I've seen in a minute. I think ester is definitely more evil and bat shit crazy than in the original. Another amazing reaction from cody and bridgette.

this was my reaction too when I slowly realized the plot twist. haha. didn't expect it tho.
Actually I roll my eyes in the movie theater because unlike a good plot twist it felt more like if you were to take a horror movie that's supposed to be comedic like scream and you put a plot like that from Scream into orphan
Yes it was far fetched the original but it was also kind of serious at the same time it didn't feel that way

Love the reaction guys. Also fun fact: I don't know how they did it but them being able to create the dwarfism on Isabelle Fuhrman is great. When she did the first film, they actually thought she wouldn't get to a much more height after reaching her teens but she actually did so they did really good on the effects on her dwarfism look.

You all should check out “The Good Son” with Mcaulay Culkin. It’s a thriller from the 90’s. The ending reminds me of this movie.

The room with the dolls reminds me of the Cutie's Orange Commercial with the little black girl and the little white identical twin girls who dress like Esther and all the dolls and the strangeness of the twins freaks the little girl out. She has her mother take her home right away. The twins stand in the yard like the Grady girls in "The Shining" and wave at the girl.
And the house is the murder house from American Horror Story.

Fun prequel, but maybe would've worked better as a sequel? I don't know how you explain away Esther somehow surviving the events of the first one, but look at the bullshit they pulled with Halloween Resurrection lol. Not sure if the intent was to turn her into the antihero here or just have the audience sit back and watch these two crazy women go head to head.

I watched this in cinema with my family and we thought it was crazy, but still likeable you know. I did like this film quite a lot.
They used forced perspective photography to make Isabelle Furhman look small compared to her co stars and used a little bit of CGI to De age her to make her up look 12 years younger.
isabelle said they used no cgi, it was all forced perspective and body doubles
There was CGI, but not for the de-aging part. Judging by the fire CGI, I don’t think it would’ve looked better than the practical effects.
also the actors used high heeled boots to give an illusion that they look taller than esther.

The Orphan films are great. It won't win any Oscars but they are damn enjoyable. That being said, in both films, Isabelle Fuhrman is a fucking good actress. She was great when she was literally a kid, and just as good in her 20's. I really believe if she were in some critically acclaimed films, she would have a well deserved bigger career.

Seriously this was right up there with the first movie,of it had a bigger budget this would have had that extra polish,and would be just as good as the first, the actors weren't terrible,the plot twist cught me off guard I was expecting another prequel/sequel that has all the predictable tropes of movies and games these days kind of why I don't watch a hole lot of movies anymore and I'm picky out of the almost 500 games I have on my ps4 because again I'm picky, but there are those few titles regardless that always leave a lasting impression I remember watching the first one years ago and loved it an a couple years ago I was like damn what was that movie I can't remember drive me crazy for a bit lol anyway watched it again and was yeah this movie is great and same for this though lower budget I saw rotten tomatoes gave jt a 67% I was like ok we will see but definitely deserved it if not a bit higher given the budget nevertheless this is another cult classic already lol

i was disappointed with this film i liked the original better it was just worked better and you didn't know the twist until the end unlike in this one you know whats really going on like 30 minutes in the original just worked better for me because she was really a 12 year old girl unlike here being 25 trying to pretend to be a 12 year old i respect that people really liked this one and iam happy for yall the twist just felt really generic shes really a cold hearted killer in the original then the kind of soft side we se of her here only killing when she's cornered too but the dads last line in the movie had me dying lol if this film took place in the psych ward it totally would have been my jam i was more on board with her in the psych ward rather than her getting out and getting the movie we got but oh well apart of me believes ester is still alive and even though i liked the original better that's one i have a hard time seeing through again once you know the twist it kind of deflates for me the film is great the 1st time around lol but since the first film we seen films the like the orphan way too often now!
