If I had a time machine, this is one of the movies I'd go back to see in theater, I bet the audience reaction was priceless with the twist! I'm so glad you guys are starting the Saw series. They are so well thought out and worth the binge!
Me an my friend were bored so headed to the movies, had no clue what this was about but nothing else was on of any interest so we got our tickets to “Saw”. We were in serious shock by the end credits lol😂 it was an incredible and shocking experience. I had to get the bus home alone after so that was extra special.
So many people who hate horror or gore watch this & end up loving it for the ongoing story. I just watched a reactor yesterday who never had an interest in this because they always thought it was more of a slasher film. By the end, she wanted to watch the second one immediately lol
@@d3l3tes00nwhich one. I think I might have an idea. If it's an older reaction. It's hard finding good reactions. I won't watch them if they're short reactions - less than 28min - prefer over 30min.
"Awake already, Jeff? I need more powerful tranquilizers next time." I love that Jigsaw was using random victims to test how long he'd need to be sedated and unconscious in that bathroom for.
I don't think people talk about about amazing Leigh Whannell (Adam) is for having written so many of the Saw and Insidious films, plus Cooties, Upgrade, Dead Silence, and The Invisible Man (2020). Like, his acting was hilarious in this movie, but his writing is stellar.
The 3 franchises I will never get tired of is Saw, final destination and Scream . I’m so happy y’all are reacting to these movies! I also find it so interesting that John Kramer is the only serial killer whose not really a killer technically , he’s never physically killed anyone but uses the traps as karma for the people have done him or other wrong. Like a lot of the people in these movies are horrible people and deserve it
I think the reason the wife didn’t shoot Zepp when she had the gun is because if she killed him, she never would’ve found out where Lawrence was being kept
One thing that I think the Saw franchise does better in general than most horror movies is endings. It’s far too common in horror for movies to peter out in the end, but with Saw movies, even the not as great ones, it feels like they were all made to lead to the endings, which always leave you on a high. I think 2 and 6 are the best ones, with the original being third. People often say Adam had no chance and his whole thing was just to be there to die, but I feel like the idea was he was also supposed to cut off his foot to get away.
I forget if it's mentioned in another movie or one of the commentaries, but Adam got double screwed by Amanda. She was supposed to attach the key to him, and she fucked w/ the tub by tying the stopper to his ankle.
The way this series evolves into an indictment of the health care and insurance systems is nothing short of exceptional. A truly great franchise. And anyone who says they saw the ending coming is full of it.
Thank you guys for doing this. This is my favorite horror movie/franchise (tied with Scream) The perception of what people THINK the Saw movies and what they actually are are two different things. So it makes me happy when people get on board the Saw train. It's like a horror soap opera and the consistency in the cohesive timeline is great. I hope you do the others.
Also Saw X is set in between Saw I and II. So definitely recommend those two pre-Saw X. But there will be other easter eggs from later I'm sure that you can catch afterwards
This and the Alien franchise are my two absolute favourites. Campy, silly, excellent special effects, good cohesive stories- absolutely the most fun to rewatch once or twice every year, more if I can help it 😅
Yesssss!!!! Can't wait for y'all to go down the Saw journey before Saw X comes out! I'm currently rewatching all of them as well. Tobin Bell is completely underrated as Jigsaw!!!
YES! This film blew everyone away when it came out. I remember being thinking, "Damn...that story was actually really good!" Not so much for the rest. lol
*What a movie, guys. It's still Over The Top. The plot twists, the camera work, the editing, the very solid cast. And, for sure, a hell of a screenplay. Not to forget the remarkable Original Score [ incl. the SAW theme ] by famous Keyboardist, Composer, Record Producer and Remixer Charlie Clouser [ Known for working with "Nine Inch Nails" and Trent Reznor from 1994 to 2000, he also worked with the band "White Zombie", ROB ZOMBIE, Mar1lyn Man5on, Snake River Conspiracy and also with the German Eurodance project "Real McCoy" on their 3rd album "Another Night" (1994).* 🎵🎹🎵🔥🔥🔥 🎵🎸🎹🥁🎸🎵💿🔥🔥😈🔥🔥
BTW, the close up shots for Amanda's trap were done in extra photography, and the hands shown weren't Shawnee smith's, they were the directors, James Wan, he painted his nails to match her hands
Fun Behind the scenes fact: The first 6 days of the 18 days they filmed was pretty much all the bathroom scenes. So they almost didn't have time to film the ending. And if they didn't get it down, they would have to move on. But luckily, with only 2 cameras, they were able to nail the ending in one long take.
Fun fact the first saw was made in 19 days and it only had a 1 million dollar with so little time and budget this became one of the best horror movie franchises
Like I always say, most of the "victims" are the actual villains in these films, and Jigsaw is somewhere between vigilante and antihero. There's only a few participants that are actual victims that don't deserve it.
Yeah I can definitely see that but Gordon was less of a jerk and abuser to Adam compared to Walt with Jesse lol but as someone who ships both I see the comparisons.
Something I find so unneccesarily funny is that every reaction channel I've seen watch this has said something to the effect of "Underhand! Throw it underhand!" everytime they see Lawrence throw anything to Adam 😂😭
I always got very defensive when people called Saw torture pxrn, 'cause it's really not. Is it brutal and gory? Certainly. And the rate at which the films get more brutal/gory is ~ exponentially. But they ARE horror movies with lots of unique ways to let people test their will to live. HOWEVER, they are more than that, too... they're social commentary and stories of morality at the center of each one. And amazingly, the first 7 are so tightly written and plotted out, perfectly connected and well constructed.
Can't wait to watch you guys watch all the rest of these movies Also Detective Tapp doesn't die in this movie, there are two games that are canon to the films and the first game you play as Tapp after he was shot in the first movie and was put into jigsaw's games. At the end of that game you get to choose the ending and the main ending has him leaving and never capturing jigsaw and he just goes back to his apartment and shoots himself in the head.
After the first watch for years, I only remembered that 'corpse' is Jigsaw and the doctor cut his leg off. The rest of the journey is still so enjoyable on re-watch
This is the only one I watched in it's entirety - I caught bits of some of the others on TV but didn't really care about anything I saw (I think they were 2, 3 and 4, not sure) This one I caught at the movie theater the day it came out, and I jokingly guessed the twist ending the second the whole scene was presented and that pissed me off. Still, I liked the atmosphere and the suspense - watching your reaction, I apparently still do. I'm now thinking about giving the others another go and skipping parts that get too torture gore-y for my taste...
Parts 1 and 2 are easily the best, but I must admit that I love this franchise. The only one I don't own is Saw 3D (which admittedly is pants). But despite their flaws, the others are great fun and I watch them...many times 😃
@@JeshuaSquirrel I think 3D is bad but I also don’t agree how everyone says targeting the wife is out of character for Jigsaw. I mean, in Saw Zepp’s test is literally “would you be willing to murder a mother and child”, who were completely innocent. Turns out Jigsaw has always been a jerk. As for the Saw franchise I actually think Saw 6 is among the very best. I think 2 is best, then honestly 6, then 1
i wonder how much influence this movie had in the making of squid game, the plot twist at the end is just like the one on squid game, the master mind was there with them all along
I think most of us can agree that Charlie Clouser’s music is one of the reasons why the films were as memorable as they had been. Even with some of them being crappy, Charlie’s music is still gold! Best prime example is Hello Zepp. Without it, it wouldn’t had worked. Looking forward to seeing what he’s gonna do for Saw X.

Saw 2 is a legitimately great horror film. When people meme on Saw, I always tell them that, while I mostly agree, Saw 2 slaps.
