When he choked on the eyeball ppl were horrified in the theater. I busted out laughing and the whole theater started laughing. 😂😂😂 That was classic Evil Dead to me and it was hysterical.

Unlike most who read the books, at least Danny tried to stop it at first and you can see the look of almost instant regret on his face.
As in: "Oh shit, what did I just do?" Of course, his sister did try to tell him not to read it. But hey, they're kids who don't really know any better. Unlike say... Eric or Ash.
If I'm not mistaken, Ash was a teenager as well. Regardless, I don't know why people read these scary ass looking books. I most certainly wouldn't
@@mikankitsune0440 Ash was a college student when he first read the book. Yeah, I for sure would not tempt fate by reading these things. What bothered me the most was that in the 2013 film, Eric sees CLEAR warning signs not to read the thing but still does it anyway! Like... its right in front of your face with words even telling you NOT to do but you just said fuck it and do it anyway lol.
@@rodgill9376and then to make matters worse, Eric takes NO RESPONSIBILITY!!! He tells David he read the prayer but then shit talks him calling him a coward when literally everyone’s suffering and deaths were singularly HIS fault! Eric is the worst character in ED series.
@@caitlynslusher8703 out of all of the ones who read the book, I disliked Eric the most. Ironically moreso than even Scotty. Actually… I much as I couldn’t stand the two, I have to say at least Eric does own up to his mistakes and does try to fix it, Scotty on the other hand? Not so much. It’s kind of the lesser of two evils in this case I guess!

Yeah well, I saw this one twice.. One for sneak preview 2 weeks ago and the other for the premiere last week!! Twice the fun the 2nd viewing.

Absolutely, this and Scream 6 was something i was most excited for, but Scream 6 dissappointed me and i was worried about the Evil Dead. But it delivered as always, gotta be my favorite horror movie this year so far.
The movie has been named as loudest sound system and very effective. I couldn't even hide anywhere because the sound wave hit around my body with the action. Really cool though.
Alyssa Sutherland was incredibly creepy as deadite possessed Ellie. She absolutely made this movie.
The actress that plays the Mom has a creepy face to begin with. She's perfectly cast for the role. Just like Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin.

The dark liquid came out from Bridget's nose was tattoo ink when her mother attacked with that needle. The white liquid is referenced to demon's fluids.
Idk if you noticed but this version of the Necronomicon is the hardest to deal with. The record says just to run, when in other versions you could dismember them and in 2013 you could also bury them alive or set them ablaze. Also, I fw this movie a lot more on rewatch. Probably least favorite of the franchise, but still a 4/5 imo. The shot of Bridget floating over Danny in the kitchen is just *chef's kiss*
but if u destroy the body . The entity will only find a new one so.... best way is dismembering or bury

i saw this movie in the theaters with my boyfriend. first evil dead movie he’s ever seen and he has non-stop talked about it. we loved it! when it came to choking on the eyeball, i got so nauseous. every scene in this movie was perfect. alyssa sutherland *chefs kiss*. y’all have to watch The Mist show with her in it.
The stupidity of the kid who got the book and ignoring alll the things happening really got me pissed if he would have survived I would be sooooo done 🤣

Bruce Campbell did make an audio cameo in the movie. He was the voice of one of the priests. Besides Beth saying the "come get me" reference it also appears at the bottom of the pizza box. And the business was called "Henrietta's" a character in Evil Dead 2.
I saw that title sequence at the theater, front row. It was Heavenly. \m/.
The screen was so big and the sound so loud, it was like a blood splattered sensory overload.

this movie was great lol im so glad my friends and i rented at home cause we were CACKLING. the woman who played the mom really just carried the entire movie on her back. fantastic. also yes that title sequence was absolutely amazing. hats off to whoever's idea that was

I saw this one in theaters and man, what a freakin ride. Loved every second of it. I personally say that the 2013 is still my favorite, but this is an absolute second.

Absolutely epic follow up to the 2013 release and definitely a great way to bring the films together by referencing the three Necronomicon books as shown in The Army of Darkness, but spoken through the vinyl recording as well. I definitely rate this up there, but it's still Evil Dead 2 favorite, Evil Dead 2013, Evil Dead 1981, Evil Dead Musical! (Yes you read that right) available to stream on RUclips, Evil Dead Rise, and The Army of Darkness. Honestly though, they all stick for me and the rankings will definitely shift as they all get better with a rewatch.

I’ve always thought the Book of the Dead has a mystical lure about it that preys on natural curiosity. That’s why whoever finds it ignores all the warnings and red flags.
One of the best horror movie openings of all time in my opinion. Although i did enjoy this movie very much it still ranks number 5 out of the Evil Dead franchise...but still loved it

Yeah the eye swallow was from Evil Dead 2 when Henrietta is in the basement trying to get out and they slam the basement door down on her head her eye flies out into the country girls mouth across the room, and she swallows it LOL!

Had to put this reaction/Kill count off for a month until I watched the movie but oh man, you two never disappoint.
Play Slayer's Raining Blood at the minute mark 39:10 and it makes this so much more exciting. Maybe try it out?? I wonder how it sounds while actually watching the movie lol

Nice reaction/critique..Bravo! This movie is textbook over the top Evil Dead trope. The female centric angle is nice..and creepy. I will never view my cheese grater in the same way again. This stayed in the cinema far too briefly. My audience was very reactionary...lots of squeals and gagging notes over the crunch of popcorn and milk duds. I will be viewing this little gem on the Halloween video-fest ,this year. This film showed lots of imagination...with all the same dumb,real world action. Why do these people ever just leave..or run..or just stop and think rationally. If, I were in these movies..it would only last about 5 minutes...because I'd be gone at the first sign of weirdness. Again...stellar reaction.

My mom went with her coworker/friend and her 11 yr old daughter to the movie theater to see this movie. the movie theater had recline seats i think. Seems like it would be cool. that was a cool the shining thing blood elevator part. the mom and daughters together gave me The Thing vibes. I've never saw Resident Evil so idk

I was never into the Evil Dead movies, but I went and saw this movie yesterday and I enjoyed it. This is far my favorite movie out of the Franchise. Loved the reaction guys! Much love and support. Happy Mother’s Day Bridget, hope you have a great Mother’s Day!

This movie could’ve been great if they didn’t hold back on the mean violence and gore. The 2013 movie made me squirm way more.
100%. I watched 2013 before going in and it felt pretty tame in comparison. I wish they'd hung on some of the shots rather than quickly cutting away.

just came from seeing this on max and loved didn't think i would but i did loved it and can't wait for a sequel if there is one i love how they made Beth the ash character the only critique i would give it is how everybody that gets posessed makes a baby or mother pun towards beth it was a little tastless for me!

I only watched 2013 version before this one, if judging Evil dead rise on itself, it's quite good on gory scenes, but if compare to the 2013 version, that one is a masterpiece for me, and this one doesn't really make it up there. I love the opening scene though! When the title came up is brilliant!

I saw this in theatres a few weeks ago and I'm still confused about my thoughts on it. I liked it, but I didn't think it was anything special. I enjoyed the first 3/4 but thought the ending scene was both predictable and sort of a rip off of The Thing. I still to this day don't understand why the cabin opening/closing was there. Yes I understand the new possessed woman leaves the apartment and goes to the cabin, I just don't really get the purpose of the scenes when it comes to the overall story. I really really liked the female lead (Mother) but didn't really care for the sister or any of the kids. I guess to sum it up I'm sort of 50/50 on the movie as a whole although I'd probably rate it closer to a 6.5 or 7. Good but nothing to write home about.

it's soo scary i tried to watch it with my mom but she's too scared to watch it
I really liked this one. The apartment was a perfect way to expand the films.
However. After many watches, I still think the 2013 version has
1- a better title sequence
2- way better demon battles/kills
3- a better set up with Mia trying to detox.
Outside of those points, the acting, the way this film was shot, having deadites spreading through an entire apartment building, all ultra cool, perfectly in tune with the source material…it’s shocking that this was meant to just be an HBO deal.
But. The way the 2013 one is paced. And the brutality. I asked my younger bro “so…. Is it as good as the 2013 one?” And he was like “…..well, yes and no, but it’s well, we’ll worth the watch.” He was right 100%, so if you’re an old school fan who wasn’t sure if you wanted risk a bad evil dead film, no worries, not as intense violence, but emotionally insane. And the practical effects are particularly terrifying in my opinion.

The "ultimate" form deadite kinda confused me, it's slower, less agile, and overall less dangerous than if they remained all individual. But as a setpiece final boss of the movie it's pretty fucking cool.

I thought it was gonna be kinda like the 2013 version where Mia came back to normal. No one did in this movie, so it made me sad that that little girl lost almost her entire family. Other than that, this movie rocks!
