    Hey Mitch, I commented a few months ago that I was looking to get into the HVAC trade over in Perth, and just now have started as a mature age apprentice! I kid you not, your videos have helped a bunch in having a basic idea of how aircon units work (especially mini splits), which has helped give me a nice headstart in my first couple weeks! Love your work and your vids mate.

    Hey Mitch love ya videos been watching for ages I use to hate the trade but you and a few other things have really made me love the trade again quick question though. I see on your high side you don’t have a Schrader depressor for your vacci-stat when you put the unit in positive pressure do you find that the gauge gets oil/gas in it and you have to clean it often or have you never had a problem. Cheers mate lots of love from a high quality split/ duct basher

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  4 месяца назад

      @@tomcridland9422 thanks mate, I appreciate it. So you’re not the only person who has asked me this. I tried to make the most simply setup I could. By simple I mean, as little fittings as possible that could potentially be a leak point when pulling a vacuum. That’s why there is no depressor. When I unscrew the cps vac stat, the schreader pin goes from being pushed in to not pushed in. I personally (and am happy to be told I’m wrong) don’t see how it could let in air or moisture that quick. The pin goes from being pushed in to not pushed in within a second of me unscrewing the vac stat. Any way, like I said, you’re not the only person to ask about this or point it out so I decided I’m going to do a test and put 2 vac stats on a system and see if taking one off ruins the vacuum. I’ll keep you posted man. Appreciate the input. Cheers

    I’m going to fit a ducted underfloor due to my asbestos roof. Doing all the mounting etc so I can just get my electrician and ac guy in for the final fit off.
    What’s the best setup for the return air when underfloor .My
    Plenum has twin 350mm intakes , I’m 600 off ground and want max cooling in se qld , heating is not as important as cooling.
    Should I just run some sort of boxed flue inside up a wall and a grill upto near ceiling height so it draws the hot air in from the inside instead of just ambient air from under the house ?

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  6 дней назад

      @@jasonhall5101 how big is the unit in kW? I’d just put the return air vent where ever it’s possible. As long as it’s big enough it will be fine. Being an underfloor setup, you can only do things under the floor unless you’re building bulkheads or something like that. As long as you have sufficient airflow, I’d be more concentrating on where to put the supply vents.

    You guys need to give the condenser more clearing if you are truly a professional the condenser is too close to the side of the house and the height a little bit too tall should be 8 feet at max buddy. Come on you guys do nice work, fix clearing up the condenser between the house, please

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  3 месяца назад

      @@mikehill5678 Daikin specifies a minimum of 100mm clearance at the back and on all my installs it’s 150mm clearance at the back. So according to Daikin, it’s fine. What clearance do you recommend? I’m still learning so I’ll take what ever advice I can get.
