Hey mate, Have a 14kw daikin that had a c1 fault, Blown A2P board Replaced both boards & fan motor, ran for a week and now the a2p board has blown again a6-11 error Popped the lid off and found grey cable from fan control plug had worn through to copper from sitting on distributor Ever come across anything like this?
Insulate your indoor unit, it’ll sweat on humid days and cause water damage without a 2nd drip tray
Hey mate, in your experience, do all these Actron Units sound like an air compressor when running? My neighbour has one and everytime it's runnings it's extremely loud (like an air compressor). It's very loud when outside and can be heard while inside my house, even with double galzing and sound proof insulation. Just wondering if this is normal or not.
What a fkn useless video
Amigo, envíame un paraguas de esos chulos a Berlín 😊
Order of preference: Daikin (because I worked for them in the past and know how they are made, and I have installed a ducted), Melco, MHI, Fujitsu General (because I worked for them in the past and know how they are made, and I have installed a wall split), LG (because I worked for them in the past and know how they are made, and I have installed 2 wall splits)...
Legend response.... Did you look into the liq line and find he leak and the cause of the hole in the pipe?
I have always loved a quality fastener application.
Nouice install.... You should have included bird spikes with the install..... I would have gone straight down with the trunking, to the left side of the OU, and then routed the piping and electrical behind the OU to the right hand side. Cleaner install and 2 less tight bends.... Now the client has a new roust for local native and exotic foul....
Nou-ice install Mitch!!!! 100mm for an unrestricted 2.5kW OU...Fine.
Good video ! Protect your knees Man ! I Put Down 2 Moving Blankets Folded twice on the Ground To kneel on. i use Knee pads - For other moving around situations. ( Knee pro's ) are good knee pads. For You - At Least Use a Foam Pad to kneel on. You Only Get one set of Knees !!! Don't Wear them out !!! Been doing this 40+ Years and Hurts to kneel on the knees any more without padding. Wish i Used a Pad the First 20 Years --- Knees would not be so worn out. take care.
I don’t miss up and down ladders, carrying hundred's of tools and bottles back and forth...but I sort of do..lol. Well done Mitch.
We look forward to the compressor replacement :)
Are those isolators not double-pole over there?
Yea real interested an each to understand an good an you real on what you ar doing an you good to go good job Hard working
Hello matey I watched your videos but none are from indoor to outdoor & none of you personally connecting it to the electricity ? It would be good to see you do one on a new not existing or replacing especially a Daikin since they the most popular cheers brother 👍
Thanks mate. I’ll keep that in mind.
Hey man, does that system actually use a tablet as its control unit?or is that just what the homeowners chose to do?🤔
i’ve also diagnosed a very similar misti electric with the same issue. if you disconnect the s3 wire (dc communication) and flick power back on, you should have a fluctuating dc voltage from the s3 terminal to s2. if you don’t have this at the outdoor board with the indoor disconnected, it’s a bad outdoor board.
I have a Daikin, R35 runs a champ I service it by myself as a home owner with lots of knowledge only had to replace a pipe once and that was 4 years ago!
Not to sound like a jerk man but why didn’t ya just take the pipe straight to the flare connection on the unit , just 2 more possible places were it can leak ?
@@johngaunt2734 The outdoor unit is a different pipe size to the indoor unit. That’s why it has those reducers. So to answer your question, I couldn’t go straight to the flare connection on the unit.
Your just a "cowboy" Mitch. No spirit level for your sticker! Pffffft!!
Nice easy job for a change :)
hey mate, any chance you can send those drills bits to New Zealand?
If that was my house I would of got ducted instead.
This helps me with my ac job
You don't see many of those up firing compressors now days.
Did you get rid of the soft start as well?? Lol
Nice job Mitch. 5k superheat is the sweet spot 👌
Thanks man
@ Actron just celebrated 40yrs in the business. Cheers to another 40.
Geez for the price of R22 these days im surprised they went with a repair. That being said, they certainly dont make systems to last like they used to
Yeah I agree mate. For what ever reason, they wanted to go the repair route. Regardless, I believe this thing still has many years left so I’m sure they’ll be happy with it for many years to come.
We've had one for about 3 years, cooling only. Works well, no issues. Makes me laugh, how the installers can't even get the foundation for the unit to stay level.
I’d say it’s more to do with no crank case heater. Specially if you’re near the coast. I have seen it on temperzone packs with eev valves too, crank case heater is set ridiculously low and basically never turns on,
With regard to the electrical and various comments ,the electrical supply to an outdoor unit should be totally independent and switched with isolation a max of 1.5m from the machine it supplies and not via any plug inside or out .Also the power supply should be protected by a type c MCB. Great videos and very neat .
@@colinscott8650 thanks for that info mate. I appreciate it.
Had an old LG ducted system replaced this week. They took apart some roof sheets and a mini hoist to get the old unit out and the new one in.
Great job man, cheers from the U.S.🎉
@@Knightransport thanks mate, I appreciate it! 🫡
Hej man, what camera do you use? is that just a regular gopro?
@@testvienas4611 mate it’s just an iPhone 16 pro haha. When you see shots that look like a go pro, im using my Insta 360 go 3 camera
Not sure putting your fingers and hand in line of possible high pressure leak, is a good idea.
A little bit of age, That old girl is over 20 yrs old! With a fixed speed compressor & It’s done its job & it’s time for a new efficient & quieter one or they are just going to be spending money chasing repairs.
Hey ..Love you vid ..Very interesting stuff . I have 1 question. I had to have one of my splits regassed due to leak on installation.. there was a bit of oil leak where the gas leaked from..When you regas does that also replace the oil .. Or is that amount of oil leak insignificant..
I don't know why so many people struggle with the concept of cleaning filters,or that doing so avoids potentially costly service/maintenance.??🤔
@@danielelise7348 you and me both haha
Hopefully it works out for her nothing you can do if u recommend a new unit and she decides not too. Itll probably hold just fine you did a great job
What these guys in the comments dont realize is these older units are much tougher than the newer shit
@@jhatfield2755 thanks mate. I appreciate it. I agree with you 100%. I told her it’s a lot of money to invest in a new unit but if she doesn’t have the funds then let’s do the best repair we can. I agree these units are soooo much more reliable than the new stuff. If she replaced that outdoor fan motor, I’ll be confident this will run for a long time yet.
@@maracservices yessir I’ve never seen that brand of air conditioner across the world in Kentucky. We mostly have trane, carrier, Lennox over here. Phasing out r410a this year! Still have plenty of r22 systems out there though.
We’re just transitioning to R-32 and 454b in the states, how long have you been using it for? Go team Red!!! Milwaukee all the way!!! Suggestion add some Nylog to the flare face and threads for a good seal and ease of tightening.
We had problems with those white insulated line sets in the states too something about the chemical reaction that happens when they sweat they leak internally. There’s a class action suit against the manufacturer
Sorry for all these comments, but that controller is very interesting. Would it be possible to do an exclusive video showing the kit and how you go about installing it along with any ancillary items that it needs ? I think it's genius.
Did you also install the sheets of board in the roof space under the indoor unit ? If so, what type is it and I'm assuming you get it to size to be able to feed it through the return air cutout yeah ?
I haven't done installs in several years now and am wondering if that "black" paired coil is new and is better than the pin hole leaky stuff of the past. Who stocks that ? Actrol ? I don't recall seeing it at Kirby.
Hi Mitch, I've run into a E26 error code with the same system (Actronair ESP Platinum) of my CRV3-17AS outdoor unit a few days ago (two weeks ahead Christmas, timing is impeccable), which according to the troubleshooting guide is a VSD Over Current issue. I could not get anyone to look at the fault yet, extremely hard to find anyone available at this time of the year, so was wondering if you ever came across this fault and if it would be a complicated problem to fix (I guess it is hard to tell, the guide lists a few things as possible underlying issues). Would greatful for any suggestions. Thanks heaps!
Cut the insulation at the low points to let the water drain out .
Fix crap and what do you get? Fixed crap!

Very nice repair and recovery of an R-22 System. Just curious, noticed the compressor is 3-Phase, is this residential?
