G’day Mitch, what’s the most common reason why the internal circuit breaker trips!?? Other than ceiling filters… cheers thanks legend!
use 20mm saddles
G’day Mitch, I’m happy to report that it has been smooth sailing since you left our place. We haven’t tried the ESP setting as yet - we might give it a whirl this week. Can’t thank you enough - your time here, along with your diagnosis, has given us complete peace of mind. Thank you very much!
Very nice work. 👌🏼
Just fyi, at 6:03 you forgot to say “That’s not going anywhere.”
@@salvatoregiovanni8967 haha I thought it though haha. I just didn’t “say” it!
All Mitsubishi Electric minisplit indoor units open that way, old and new. Newer ones have detachable corner pieces, which makes it much easier to open
@@moisander8858 ah okay. If the sides detach, that’d be easier!
@@maracservices Yeah, on older ones if they are not going to be re-installed, i just hammer or cut the corners so i can get my fingers under
The music isn’t helpful. Would be nice to hear your thoughts on the units and hear them.
this motor, from inverter Daikin?
Winter in Oz and a clear blue sky, you wearing shades, shorts and a t-shirt, meanwhile in Ireland its 11c , raining and miserable and its the summer😢

Worth paying the little extra for quality. Mitsubishi electric for me!
Great stuff as always. Thanks 👍🏼
Hey mitch. Not a big daikin man, but I've heard warranties being knocked back by their agents for using the blue interconnects. You hear of this?
@@MentalLapse09 I haven’t but to be fair, I do my own Daikin warranty so i just do what I want and it’s no questions asked. If I got someone else to do it, maybe they would question it. I have heard that using 3 core and earth cable isn’t ideal so I should probably change cables but I’ve never heard of anyone actually running unit Daikin warranty problems. It wouldn’t surprise me though.
Just found your channel mate, great informative videos, have already learnt afew things (and ive been on the tools for years) thanks, keep it up
I use a cable tie to unclip, slide the "head" of the tie behind the unit and pull
@@craigladewig3158 that’s a good idea mate
You could always measure from centre to exit hole. Then use stud finder. This will save a little time also and not have to drill then move
Thanks Mitch, Do you know how to confirm if its the ourdoor PCB problen or indoor PCB problem?
A nice neat job Mitchel, as always, i did miss Tom operating that lifting hoist 😉 😉 👍
I keep an offcut of solder in the toolbag bent into a little hook for unclipping the bottom of those indoor units 🤙🏻
I use two tie-wraps.

Hi Mitch, I'm not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but the ESP mode is external static pressure mode , so the board will have sensors mounted in the supply and return ducts to measure this pressure difference and then controll the fan speed to maintain this setting, my thinking on this would be with all zones open the fan is moving more air easier so to speak , max duct area available, so the ESP is lower , ie difference between supply and return duct pressure is say , 0.3 inches of water column we'll call this the setpoint, and full air volume being moved. When a zone is closed , the difference between supply and return duct pressure increases , say to 0.5 inches of water column, due to less area available for air to move thru, say 75% available as it's only operating on 3 of the 4 zones. The board now sees the 0.5 water column, with a 0.3 setpoint , so it reduces the fan speed to reduce the ESP back to setpoint. This then reduces the air volume across the coil and causes the unit to trip on HP. I wonder is this a newly installed unit or possibly your first visit?. You were correct in shortening the ducts and making smooth bends where possible, I think the unit is oversized for the ductwork, or another way of saying it, the ductwork is undersized for the unit. You hit the nail on the head with your diagnosis.. Is there variable speed on the outdoor unit fans?.. Great content, keep it up...
Good jobs
Just seen this, sticking your leak tester up the insulation would have shown you the leak straight away.. This should be part of any leak test before you get to the pressure testing stage. however we have had loads and loads of linesets failing . Cheap Chinese copper is to blame.
@maracservices Hey mate! The 7 on the remote is actually a T for test! With an e5 fault the high chance of compressor seizure with your failed board, good call with the condemn of unit Would have been good to see if you had a strong insulation resistance reading or not
How do you go with the cover he he.
Hardest part of the job 😂😂
if there is 45 dc and 0dc then is it the indoor bord faulty and if it 10dc then 0dc is it the outdoor bord faulty ????
It depend If that happen then you probably have to check indoor and outdoor board check the fuses it could be both board that’s bad but usually outdoor bad board are the common one
Not sure if you have one but the most valuable piece of hardware you can have for checking Daikin residential equipment is the Daikin Transmission Checker (I don’t even know if they sell it anymore). It hooks up to 1,2,3 terminals and it tells you all the indoor data such as sensors and requested capacity sent to the outdoor. On the outdoor side it tells you sensors, outdoor fan data, compressor hz etc. If it doesn’t pick up the indoor or outdoor on the transmission checker it generally sends you in the right direction to go checking.
Interesting, I can’t say I’ve seen one of those. Sounds pretty handy!
How do u get the fan barrel out of those Fujitsu models
The evaporator needs to slide up to get good access to everything. You don’t need to remove the board on the side which is good.
Thats an old pup.
My Daikin sounds like that and has for well over a decade. Still works fine tho so we never fixed it
@@maxd4968 this actually still worked fine as well. It was just annoying the customer to much.
@@maracservices Nice work Mitch, it’s an easy one for a rookie to trip up on as it can sound like it requires a new fan motor when all they need is a good clean out . The cleaning bags and portable pressure cleaner have been game changers since coming on the market. Unlike the old days of pumping unit down, disconnect, remove from wall & clean out etc. 👍❄️
That would do my head in listening to that frequency, sounds like an A/C in a computer server room that’s been running 24/7 not stop .
@@AussieHVAC it dose run a lot and we are just so numb to it now we don’t even notice it.

It's a very easy-to-understand explanation. There are so many types of multimeters. If there is a particularly recommended multimeter, I would like to see that video someday.
Cant go wrong with a Fluke - Costly but well worth it, you could be risking your life using a cheap tester
I recommend the fluke kit that’s designed for hvac. It comes with the multimeter you see in this video and another one that can measure amps. Cheers mate
