    Hey mate!
    The 7 on the remote is actually a T for test!
    With an e5 fault the high chance of compressor seizure with your failed board, good call with the condemn of unit
    Would have been good to see if you had a strong insulation resistance reading or not

    The two screws floating around in the bottom of the board enclosure are meant to attach the heatsink to the board along with thermal paste, if the screws aren't installed and new paste wasn't applied that replacement board never had a chance.

    • @J.k313
      @J.k313 16 дней назад +1

      The top right screw had seat sink on the threads. How the previous tech didn't see that is wild

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  15 дней назад +4

      As soon as I saw those screws I knew exactly where they were from. Like you said, they’re the ones that screw the board down to the heatsink. You make a good point about the thermal paste, there is a good chance it wasn’t applied and even if it was, it probably isn’t a good contact. I replaced that unit today so I actually have this old unit in the back of my van as we speak so I can see if thermal paste was applied.

    Friday also had an RX50 with E5 error code - no refrigerant in system, windings measured fine - compressor had seized.

  • @craigladewig3158
    @craigladewig3158 15 дней назад +2

    Problem with this scenario , you now quote client on new inverter PCB because compressor windings measured good. Client gives go ahead for new inverter PCB. You install new PCB only to find compressor has seized. Now Daikin wont return the PCB as it has been installed and client has to fork out the cash for compressor. At this stage it would have probably been more cost effective to install new unit with 1 year warranty. I always quote replacement of compressor + inverter PCB vs new unit.

    • @dalebaker1529

      I would do the same thing Craig
      You never get any thanks from anyone by faulting the pcb then ordering them come back to replace the part to find out it’s another part that’s in fault also
      Would always advise to replace the whole outdoor unit which comes with warranty

    • @glenjones4404
      @glenjones4404 10 дней назад

      Very true with all inverter compressors as damned if you do damned if you don't its a proper catch scenario
      I would quote for new out door as long as you can get the outdoor as they change to a new aircon model so then it's a new whole install and like he said it looks like it's had a new board in it's past or someone has been looking at it !!!
      I prefer working on refrigeration to be fair and only installing air-conditioning because even advice off Daikin and they say it's the board but it could be the inverter compressor wtf as you have to tell the customer ffs which doesn't sound reassuring 🤬

    Hi Mitch, how many years is warranty for changing parts.pcb board etc

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  15 дней назад +1

      I honesty don’t know what the manufacturers warranty is. A lot of manufacturers don’t warrant it once the packet is opened and I’m not even kidding haha.
      I think they’re covering themselves from hacks incorrectly installing parts and incorrect diagnosing. That’s not the consumers issue though because if the part doesn’t work from incorrect diagnosis then the air con repairer will wear that. So it’s important for the repairer to be pretty confident before buying parts.
      I think most air conditioning companies give 12 months warranty on their work.

    just swap out the outdoor unit. This board swapping is the road to hell. I've got a 2016 12.5kw unit with a bad board and I won't just swap boards. Its new condenser or nothing from me..
    Been bitten too many times by Daikin to play those games. Esp when the price of parts+ time+ no warranty fitting matches the cost of a new outdoor unit with warranty.
