As a a complete beginner I started learning this three months ago thinking it’ll take me at least a year . Today as I was playing this whole piece on my piano I was overwhelmed with joy and in awe of myself . Thank you Brennan for providing this tutorial as I still don’t know how to read sheet music and this made it so much easier for me 😅

I played piano for a year and then dropped it for 2 or 3 years due to school's getting hard and my university exam getting closer. Then after my university exam has finished I kinda want to get back on piano but I don't really have the courage to just learn all the things I forgot. Then when I was searching on the web for a piece that I can work on I came across this magnificent tutorial on such a beautiful channel (which is my favourite piano channel from now on) and I decided to learn it. I'm thanking you for making me gain my courage and motivation again. And I'm pretty sure this is by far the best tutorial of this masterpiece on RUclips. So thank you for this tutorial and all your other tutorials. You deserve millions. I want to thank you with this but couldn't get anything more because of currency in my country. Stay safe.

I'm learning this now. It's day 3 for me and I'm 17 min into this tutorial which is part 2. Although it looks easy, you really do need to listen to this song over and over so it makes musical sense. Can't wait to learn this whole piece ans perfect it!

I've been playing the keyboard on and off for about 7 years now and wanted to play this song since I watched the movie in 2017. Never really got the hang of it except the main easy part until I found this video 3 days ago. It's been 3 days and now I can easily play all the major parts very well and it's all because of this video, thank you so much for making this and helping people like me learn this masterpiece, you really made it very easy to learn. This is the best tutorial that works for me... I am 14 and a beginner.... I also memorize the notes instead of using sheet music just like you... Your follow along clips have really helped... Currently completed half the song with great practice, took me just a week with 30 mins to an hour of practice everyday.... Looking forward to completing the whole song... 😁

Edit. Dear teacher. I'm at 23 minutes part. Right hand separate E stuff was bit difficult but I did it finally with alot of practice but left hand ABC simultaneously with huge gap is sooooo difficult and I'm literally dying to learn it.

I'm going to record my progress here in the comments. I am fifteen years old and I've been playing the piano for one year. 🎹
- DAY 1: I've learnt the intro and it's quite easy. I'm gonna keep practicing.
- DAY 2: I can play the intro pretty good. I'm learning the right hand of the part 1 and it seems impossible, but I'm gonna keep practicing it.
- DAY 3: Today I joined the right hand and left hand of part 1. After hours of practicing I can play the song until the end of part two easily, but always with some mistakes.
- DAY 4: I made it to the first variation of the main theme! I'm really proud of myself.
- DAY 5: I've learned the second variation and I have to practice it. I also took a look at section three and I can do it slowly.
- DAY 6: I can play the variation 2 good and I can play the section 3 faster. The variation 3 of the main theme is really hard.
- DAY 7: Section 3 is easier but sometimes I make little mistakes. Variation 3 continues being hard.

You don't know how helpful this was. I always wanted to play this piece because of how beautiful and mesmerizing it is. This is by far the most detailed tutorial and the one that shows variations and the proper way other ppl play it. I searched everywhere and u came like an angel. I learned this and played it for my family and also played it in a piano store and wherever I saw a piano. Amazing, this is truly underrated

I just started learning piano at 28, and this is one of my favourite pieces to learn. With my other piano courses online, practicing this song using the sheet music and lesson you put together keeps me going! I have a question, do we use sustain pedal during the song? And where?
Awww thank you!!! Good question, for the pedal it generally follows the left hand so whenever you change chords/keys you lift off and push back down on the pedal. But you can play around with it and see what you like best :)

I started playing the piano 3 months ago and this song was the reason why I bought one. It is really hard for me to learn this song as some parts are really hard to remember as the melody is not so obvious. I can’t think of a better tutorial than this one. I keep practicing until I know the song. Thanks for all the hard work. I think I need a lot of time but I have about 40 years to go in this life 😁

this is probably the best tutorial. im a beginner but most of the beginner videos are too simplified. this one has more depth and is more fun to play when you atart to get it.

I started this tutorial today because I finally felt ready to learn this song. I’ve played some piano before, but not much, so I call my self a beginner. I’m already 13 minutes in to the video and can play the whole intro on day one. I really hope that I will continue until I can play it all! ❤️ The only problem is that I don’t have very much spare time.

Have always wanted to learn Interstellar theme &I am definitely working on this from TODAY.
Day 1 : Watched this in full. Getting acquainted w the "sound" on home keyboard.
Day 3 : Watched entire arrangement play out everyday. Section 1 done (bit off tempo). Right hand picks up quick, Left hand is slow and both hands is slower.
Day 6 : Watching entire arrangement everyday. Section 1 done (still needs smoothening on left hand work), Section 2 in progress
Day 9 : Listened to the track, Not playing sections, practicing individual pieces to get them memorized (individual hands).

The variations are really nice and I´m not forced to learn all of them at once or in correct order, that´s the best thing of this Theme, it has so many variations.
Currently I´m struggling with section 1, adding the E in right hand. Don´t know why... But practice is the best way to handle it right? :) The Main Theme and variations are easier for me.
