The music came before the movie: Christopher Nolan gave Hans Zimmer a letter and asked him to compose something inspired by it. Check out the full story and dive deeper into this lesson on our blog >> www.pianote.com/blog/interstellar-theme-tutorial/

When I got the beginning parts I just cried. I’ve wanted to play and have loved film score music my entire life and never thought I’d get to a point of being able to play the songs I love so much. I’m 26 and never played the piano but I bought a piano back in June and the realization that I actually CAN learn this made me emotional. Thank you for your awesome lessons!!

I started piano 2007, had to stop cold turkey when diagnosed with M.S. in 2008, i felt like the very thing i desired for myself was snatched away from my memory and fingers. I heard this song 2 weeks ago for the 1st time and something awoke within me with this song. Ive been on my keyboard determined to learn this song for myself. Im now 46, its been a rough 20yrs with this disease but im going to get it.
Thank you for making it much easier to learn.

Interstellar / Cornfield Chase from Hans Zimmer is my absolute favourite composition. Even broken down in lesson chunks it sounds sooo beautiful. The way Lisa is explaining it all, I’m very much a beginner and feel like I could actually learn this with time and practice. A couple of weeks back I had no idea what an arpeggio pattern was and thanks to Lisa, I incorporate arpeggio pattern in my daily practice and they sound so pretty!! 😍✨🎹✨

I left playing the piano for 6 long years and almost completely forgot how to play. Always loved Zimmer's this music score and wondered if I could ever play that. I've started playing again this year and just playing along with you felt so comfortable it was like I never stopped playing. Being able to play this music feels so beautiful and emotional at the same time. Thanks for this amazing video, this has been a GREAT help!

Thank you so much for this tutorial 😭😊💞 Interstellar is my all time favourite film & score. I just have a keyboard, I usually play by ear. But lately I've been struggling with depression so I haven't played it. I decided I should try to learn my favourite, the cornfield chase, to motivate me, but I don't have the energy to play by ear like I normally do- I just need someone to show me how so I can more quickly feel some joy from playing it. This is perfect! And you emit such joy as well, it makes me smile. Thank you.

Not only is this tutorial more extensive on the members area, there is also an additional video by Cassi Falk going through the needed technique to practise the specific parts of this track. Very good for warm-up and technique training days.
I've been a member for about three weeks now. Did not think twice after two or three days to get the full year package. I do need to slow myself down a bit to give my wrists some rest between sessions and I'm recording my whole progress from day one. I do have a funny personal goal; In one year I'd like to play on a public piano somewhere (airport, trainstation) and be able to play at least 3 to 4 pieces from memory. (this track is def. on the short list to play!)
So; thank you! It took me about 2 years to start while having a keyboard staring at me every day, collecting dust , and now I can't stop!

Thanks a lot! I already fiddled around a bit with the melodic and harmonic idea of this fantastic piece earlier on a synthesizer, which was lots of fun. Hans Zimmer's music is so minimalistic but loaded with emotions from another world (perfectly fitting these kind of films) ♥I'm just starting to learn the piano and after watching this I found myself googling for piano teachers in the neighborhood 😆Can't wait to be able to play such pieces! I'm so grateful I got back into music after a long break (I'm almost 40 now but I I'm pretty sure this rediscovered love will last this time), and to all the very helpful and inspring content of all sorts that is freely shared on the internet 🙏

I had piano lessons at school for some time (4 years) and it did improve my playing, but I never even learned how to read sheet music and when I stopped, I watched RUclips lessons instead, to learn songs and not just theory.. And I always wanted to learn this piece but it always seemed so hard in those "falling notes" tutorials. Then when I started watching actual lesson videos, I learned primavera by Ludovico Einaudi in just 3 days. So I realized I can do this with interstellar too and wow.. just wow. It's one of the most emotional and cinematic pieces I've ever heard and when I learned the beginning.. it already sounded amazing.. now I'm just practicing it so it flows smoothly. Thank you so much. I love that you separate each part and that makes it way easier than trying to play it all together before knowing the parts. ❤️✨🦋🌸 I'm totally gonna learn more songs from you

Very very good teacher , knows exactly what the students stuggle on, very good feeling to teach , and always shows the more difficult parts very slowly and alternative tricks for using only 2 notes instead of big split hands . Very nice . thank you for teaching us :=)
