- Over the weekend I got to play the Terratech Worlds demo and honestly It was one of the best gaming weekends I've had in ages! After recording this video I spoke to the Terratech team and now have access to the pre-release build after the demo is closed so I may cover the pre-release again before the full release later on! Really hope you enjoy the video! :D

About Terratech Worlds: "TerraTech Worlds is an open-world, PvE survival game set on an uncharted alien planet. Explore, mine, build, craft and battle your way through natural hazards and dangerous enemies, to harness the power of your environment. Play solo or up to 6 friends via online co-op, and get ready for adventure!" Игры
Update - I would like to apologise for the video quality. The issue is RUclipss compression when uploading. I could have done more to easily prevent this with how i rendered/recorded the video but i havent had this issue in years! The video file looks fine when viewed but looks blurry especially when moving on RUclips. Any future videos on Terratech Worlds i produce will NOT have this issue.

👍
Loved terratech and seeing what you'll do in this new series is just the best. Cant wait!
Awsome
Thank you! I've been waiting for this.
This game is literally just "TerraTech if we made it with the budget we earned from TerraTech"
And I guess if Terratech was more of a survival base builder than an open world sandbox?
@@NeonWilderyou mean because this game focuses more on base building than the original?
@@NeonWilderidk I’d say this is a terra tech but we want more world building and with an actual main goal or goals
@@NeonWilder The differences are there, but a vast majority seem to be a direct cause of the more complex base mechanics.
the original TT used Unity, TT worlds uses Unreal Engine if I'm not mistaken. That also seems fitting.
Just noticed the comment in the video of saying silicon differently, just wanted to tidbit in that silicone is actually an entirely different thing from silicon, silicon is a natural resource used in a lot of electronics, and silicone is a man made rubbery substance, using silicon as a primary component, which is why they are spelled so similarly, just spreading a bit of knowledge i dont think many know, thanks for the content all these years, hope you keep making content for years to come
Damn I never knew that, thanks for the neat tidbit
Minor nitpick. Silicon (Si) is an element, not a natural resource, the natural resource would be silicates (silicon oxides). You will rarely find elemental silicon in nature.
It's English name is also somewhat weird, it was first proposed as Silicium (a name which is used in a lot of other languages), -ium because it was believed to be a metal and the latin silicis for flint (because well flint is made from silicates).
Silicones also aren't necessarily rubbery, they can also be resins, oils or ceramics, this is because silicon can form polymers and very stable bonds (comparable to carbon, it is in the carbon group afterall).
@ayumikuro3768 thank you for the addition, the more accurate the information the better, and I don't pass up the opportunity to learn more about something I don't know
Holy crap, people correcting other to educate, not demean, yall are amazing.
Fun Fact, due to the Carbon like bonds, Silicon rich volcanoes can handle much more pressure, making for way larger and more violent explosions and thicker, more viscous lava.
Just FYI, they're rebuilding Robocraft 2 from the ground up to be more similar to the golden days of the original Robocraft since the general feedback was so negative!
I'm not so positive about RC anymore, the devs seem to have no idea what they're doing
But it is nice that they're trying to listen to their fans for once
Honestly, with how often the userbase got met with messages like "oh be quiet, you don't even know what you really want" from a team that kept ooh-shiny'ing and adding whatever jingly car keys were being shaken in the moment, I... genuinely have less faith in RC2 than I did in Crossout, as far as good/classic-Robocraft-successors go.
Good. RC2 was... not great.
It died in 2015 and seeing how it progressed i have no doubts a reboot will do it any good.
one of the more embarrassing fates for a sequel
Now this is one hell of a birthday present, looking forward to this.
Happy Birthday in that case! ^^
Were all looking forward to this wubiiii
First thing I thought of when i saw this game was "Lathrix needs to play this"
Having thoroughly watched every Terratech video of yours, this is definitely a game I wish to see continued in the future
its apparently releasing this year, so yeah looking forward to that
@@TerranSpacePolice its just better terratech imo, idek why they called it a spinoff-
That was my first thought as well lol
@@HYpr1337time Yeah they should've just called it the sequel.
I seem to recall Lathrix mentioning Payload Studios' future plans for Terratech, and it sounded a whole lot like what we have now in Terratech Worlds. So I wonder if they just decided to make it a new game as opposed to updating the current (which is honestly better and easier)
Terratech Worlds is a series we want to see more of in the future
Agreed
apparently the demo has been extended to the 19th, i just checked the store and their recent post says they want more feedback and a thanks to the help they have had so far
"Isn't a sequel"
Meanwhile if you play in windowed mode, and you look at the name on the bar it is "TT2"
I thought it was more like saying that this isn't a sequel in the sense that it's expected to be a direct continuation of the last one. It still is the 2nd in the terratech "franchise".
@@TinyEle that may well be the case
Terratech + Lathrix = the candy store of content goodies!
Terratech Worlds are just continuing that trend!
I was so confused and frustrated with the game, until the intricacies and differences showed out the Terratech muscle memory.
The blocks giving bonuses and reductions in reactor loads are a brilliant addition, but there needs some tweaking to make it truly hum.
But I suspect they had done something to limit the larger blocks possibilities to collect bonuses, because the 2x2 weapons just highlighted 2 out of 4 possible bonus delivering blocks, even though they were mounted on 4 different blocks, that didn't give the same bonuses.
Even when the blocks were giving the same bonuses, they didn't show up in the UI, like the big battery and the large weapon mount didn't give +5 to amplify, even though they are +4 and +1 amplify respectively.
But I'm really looking forwards to seeing more Terratech Worlds, and playing the full version too!
I think the tractor beam can be better if you put it on a "truck" type craft, where you can put multiple rock in a ben so you don't have to drive with only one rock falling off everytime inside the tractor beam.
That's the point of the flatbed block
But the flatbed kinda suck
@Draconfury1 I was wondering why the flatbed didn't pick items up, and why the tractor beam sucked so.much.
Hmm silicon, thats what rocks are made from
"Oh look a boulder, I need silicon though"
... How long until he realizes xd
well, thats true, most rocks are only about 40 or so percent silicon. i would never look at a rock in a game and assume its how im supposed to get silicon, i would think quartz or something.
25:30
I just assumed rocks were pure debris. Now I feel silly as well
It looks super cool, though I'm not a fan of the base blocks and the tech blocks being different grids. With the original, I really liked being able to blend base and tech, placing weapons on my base or anchors on my main tech, but judging by the fact that the base blocks and the tech blocks seemed to have different sixed grids, I don't think that will be possible in the new game.
I think it's a good thing, as bases in terratech are horrifically limited in size and durability. Perhaps another way of fixing that would've beed weight, but not having to run all the vehicle physics is still a huge advantage.
Personally I didn't find the durability to be much of an issue, because an anchored base can have a lot of power generation for shields and repair fields, though I agree on the size thing. I think a better solution would have been to have a maximum size of tech that can retract fixed anchors, or maybe to have a base core block that locks your anchors in place and can't be removed if the tech is too big.@@TlalocTemporal
@@bow-tiedengineer4453 -- Needing shields and repair bubbles for any reasonable amount of durability is pretty expensive, especially early game. It's basically just perimeter defense with some extra blocks attached, but I guess that does protect crafting from attacks. Still kinda ugly and/or laggy though.
Dedicated base blocks allow a reasonable health pool without allowing basically immortal armour plates, although if those parts weighed 30x more than normal blocks when on a tech, it would be an interesting tank build...
Perhaps the best solution that might actually make it into TerraTech is simply a permanent anchor that has a far larger block limit, much as you suggested, with perhaps an energy cost per block?
Also, TerraTech Worlds has destructible terrain, as you might notice when harvesting resources. Terraforming would be really cool, especially if you could place those monoliths some of the mission areas are made of.
@@TlalocTemporal I'm pretty sure payload studios wasn't going to touch terraforming, as I believe it was stated in one of their first TTW videos how much difficulty to programming the terrafroming would add
This is exactly the twist on TerraTech I was hoping it would be. Proper base-building, more resource and crafting focus, a bit less... toy-filled sandbox. I am a little sad to see that they are using boring Earth materials, though. Using iron, copper, etc. makes it feel too much like everything else. Was rather hoping we'd be using Plumbia and Fibron to make everything again.
Very much looking forward to seeing more of this game when there is more of this game to see.
Where I come from there is a saying: "Anyone who can read has a clear advantage!"
It took me 18 h in the demo to read the parts discriptions and see the modifier: "Reactor efficiency".
Well turns out the reactor capacity usage of the Blocks connencted to blocks with this modifiere is reduced by the given amaount.
(weapon mounts and weapons; axles and wheels)
This dramatically reduces R.C. usage and allowes way bigger and better techs, without the need for external reactors.
18:47 It's not just a boulder, It's a rock!
Yeesss
I was waiting for Lathrix's take on this game. I've seen reviews and other gameplays, but since a lot of my experience of the game is related to this channel and Lath's gameplay, this video is probably the biggest factor in my purchase decision. . . . . when I actually have any money to spare.
immediately thought of you when they announced this, so glad you're playing it. I found this channel thanks to TerraTech playthroughs back in the day
Finished my playthrough of the demo not too long ago! I was waiting with baited breath for you to post a video about it! Absolutely looking forwards to the full game coming out, and multiplayer genuinely works well in this one.
i havent seen this video to finish yet .... im stoked for this video
Please please pleaseee continue this as a series, seeing lathrax playing terratech is so nostalgic and brings me so much joy, the second I saw this game I couldn't wait for your videos on it, I'm patiently waiting for the next video from you and I'm so excited for what's in store in the future!!
Love the look of this game. I love how there are so much more biomes and how it is more survival based and base building. I know that it's a spin-off, but this is essential Terratech 2.0
That thumbnail has to be a reference to mortal engines! I have greatly enjoyed watching this video and all your content, and i wish to see more terratech worlds in the future!
When your on your block modifying your tech there is a block catalog you can select to store extra parts in. I've noticed that most players I watched don't know about that.
I didn't figure it out until I built a tech yard storage, trying to figure out what it did.
Somehow you can scan resources (or you just click them and then click the little question mark? Not sure)
Anyway, ores will show shiny yellow cracks in them, which when hit crack the rock instantly without loosing much of the yield.
This is one of the criticisms I had. It's Terratech, it's fun, but it's also more confusing than it needs to be. I think it really needs more tooltips and descriptions explaining what blocks actually do. I also think the missions could maybe be reworked to hint or steer us towards storage and automation earlier. I found it rather grindy before it started getting interesting, and enemy progression was perhaps a bit too fast. Maybe the most frustrating aspect though was the lack of auto-aiming because I'm just not that good at controlling the vehicle and trying to shoot off enemies guns.
@@brolohalflemming7042I'm not in the position to criticise because i haven't played the game. I remembered when Lathrix mentioned the dropping yield that i watched another tuber going about the same thing but reading a hint out loud that explained mining. I wanna say it was ScrapMan but not sure. Autoaim should be a toggle. But maybe it's a weapon block feature y'know "Laser guided turrets" or smth.
@@danyael777 Yeh, it could be an option or difficulty setting and would make the game more accessable. Hopefully they'll take feedback onboard before it's released. Some quirks compound, so all those mushroom-like trees. If you drive under those during a fight, you can't see to aim and the AI has a rather unfair advantage.
@@brolohalflemming7042 To be fair, this is essentually early access for people to play and it's more than likely not the finished product, meaning it very well could be explained thoroughly when everything is complete.
In fact, this very demo is for suggestions from people as to how to improve their game, so hopefully it was emphasized by a lot of people that there is an issue of understanding whats what and how to proceed.
Yes I am really enjoying this and hope you continue to do more on this :)
This is a series I wish to see continued in the future!
Terra'd tech world :3
I've been loving the block modifiers and synergies, it's satisfying to figure out and play
What a lovely way to start the week, a Lathland video!
Fun fact: boulders irl are largely silicon irl. Our earths crust is largely silicon. So the rocks we see, silicon
I just finished watching all of the earlier Terra Tech videos you made years ago and I can't wait to see if you make a series out of this one as well
This was awesome. Totally a series I'd like to see continued in the future.
"Tear apart a tech" Tear a tech ... TerraTech Lolol
NEW TERRA TECH FINALLY MORE EPISODES!!! Lowkey just rewatched the entire series
I've been waiting for you to pick this up, looking forward to this
felt bad for Lathrix driving by the boulder. ouch. but you got it in the end. great video.
i knew it would be comming let's go. looking forward to more of this absolute banger of a game.
ive actually been waiting for this, i refused to watch anyone else play this till you did
I can certainly say that I'd love to see more when the game comes out!
Man i've been waiting for this vid, a take on this newt form the man himself!
I cannot wait to watch a play through of this game!
I was waiting on Lath to play this demo, I refused to watch other RUclipsrs until he did! I started on this channel from the original Terratech vids.
This brings back so many memories of the good old days
Seems like a Reeeeaally fun spin-off, i'm hoping we will see lots of this when it's out
Thank you for keeping terratech series up!
I want to see this continued in the future!
I would love a playthrough of this with mrs. Lath!
This looks way better couldn’t see before I thought I was going blind
I have been waiting for this video for ages
Please play more. I loved your original TerraTech playthrough.
its good to be back watching Lathrix
King of Terra tech has returned finally good to see you playing terra tech
The new Physics alone make me want to play this, Looks great!
An upload so fast! Lath your blessing us
Tickled pink , of course I would like to see more and I haven't started watching this yet. Cheers Lathrix 8)
I played the demo about a week ago, and it had a lot of issues. It looks like they’ve fixed a ton of it with the new version you have though. So exited for this game!
As soon as I heard about this game I was waiting for this video.
I’m pretty excited for this game.
So far I like what I see but I hope they expand it more because it kinda just seems like other survival base builders but with a modular rover
Bro... I watched you nonstop when I was kid! Back when you made a lot of Robocraft videos. It makes me so happy to see you still making videos. Also congrats on getting engaged!
Seeing live streams of lathrix recording the full play thoughs would be interesting
So happy to see Lath on this. Literally just started playing this myself last night after my love affair with the prior Terratech.
FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAH! I loved the terratech series so much. It was a nice part of my childhood. I’m an adult out in the world now and i’m still looking forward to watching this new terratech series.
Terratech is an awesome game, and it's awesome to get more of it.
I have now played Both Terratech (didn't even know it existed until this came out) and TTW....and honestly they are both awesome games....totally different from each other in playstyle but both an extremely fun gaming experience....this developer is making the games they want to play and it show....will definitely be following their games from now on.
.........you are the first person i have seen use the mineing laser on dropped parts....good to know that thats HOW you brek down parts..kept trying to get parts into the fragmentor for that..had no idea the lasers did that. well done
You know, I accidentally destroyed a bunch of parts and still didn't put 2 and 2 together. I've got so many spare small wheels I need to scrap.
good video to watch while playing this!
Been waiting for uploads on this and the junkers update.
Silicone is squishy, kind of like a boob implant
I was internally screaming every time he said "is that silicon, no that is just a boulder"
I'm thoroughly pleased that it's more than just Terratech again with better graphics. Not to say Terratech was bad of course, it was awesome.
Tis a rarity that a sequel* deserves the title.
LATHRIX BACK ON TERRATECH!!
Also, you best know that Robocraft 2 is now becoming a super super accurate version of Robocraft from 2015, but with a more modern aesthetic, I hope to see you playing it.
I was waiting fir lathrix to try this gem since ive heard of it
That looks cool hope you enjoyed it
Great to see Terratech again
I am so looking forward to this game. Soon.
i am looking forward to this game i might try it out again when it launches =)
The crate the one enemy "dropped" was just the crate that popped off of your own tech during the fight
Yesss a new terratech video
What an amazing day
Terratech is back cant wait for the crazyness you think up
Love your content also THE CUBE CALLS
wow the oceans and rivers add so much life to the game!
i hope the terrain deformation allows me to build a cavebase
I don't think that means terraforming, rather, it's just a response to the action of removing stones and ores
@@Gracefulwarrior2124 i saw ground damage
will test when i get the game myself
yeah!!! waiting for this since the demo launched😮
Wow, that looks better than expected! It seems to have taken a bit of inspiration from satisfactory, eager to see if there are infinite recource nodes!
I'm pretty sure the resources stones themselves aren't infinite, and that the only infinite source of resources are from techs
wow im early, i loved watching old terratech so i hope this gets a series
Just as i watched this video i though to look up terratech and saw it on sale and became happy
Waited for this for a few years
i have been waiting for you to publish your video on this.
Ive been actively avoiding seeing anything about it waiting for you to cover it lmao
Looking forward to more
i was wondering when youd play this one. nice
no way ive been watching since he first played from the depths and ive just come back. HE HAS A FIANCE NOW. LETS GOOOOO
Honestly i like the ammo it brings somthing to yhe table that terratech didint have. I always liked having massive doomcraft, but having to worry about supplies and crafting is a interesting addition!
13:31 is possibly the cutest Lathrix Mishap of all time.
Im so excited for this game!
Yay! More TerraTech! Hehehe~! Excellent!
I've watched Lathland for years, but the Terratech game hasn't always appealed to me, but I would play this, at least I would give this a solid test drive
NEW LATH VIDEO JUST DROPPED RAAAAAAAAAH
The legend returns.... to terratech!
25:05 It's it situations like this where some geology knowledge actually helps. A lot of rocks contain silicate minerals like quartz.
This game looks awesome, can't wait for the full thing to come out. My only concern is the building textures and UI design, as they feel a bit out of place compared to terratech and the environment. Hopefully those get polished up before the full release!
Compression enjoying the grass
No way ! I loved this game !
