you might think all that air for a single furnace is a lot, but as someone who worked in a real life steel factory, you'd be surprised how huge all of it is
The idea of having big megastructures late game for processing items efficiently is so smart from performance perspective! More factory games could try cribbing from this idea!
Yeah I never thought about it from that perspective, it would be require much less calculations than running hundreds or thousands of smaller machines. When I saw the large modular machines it reminded me of some minecraft mods, mainly the large reactor ones.
@@makeandbreakgames1791 well, even at megabase level, UPS becomes a resource, meaning if they added a plate smelter that could run an entire belt through, at the cost of more power and byproducts for example, it would drastically cut down machine counts tooo
@@makeandbreakgames1791 Optimisation is definitely good if you have the dev resources for it. But even with Factorio in the upcoming Space Age we are seeing some more focus on fewer machines producing more with the Quality factor and the bigger machines introduced on each planet to the point the end game numbers are now blowing the vanilla ones out of the water in terms of SPM, at least according to the dev logs.
@ImKibitz THANKS! After three minutes you already went even farther than the guy I was watching with a bored eye in ten episode of 30minutes………. Thanks a lot for your ways of doing content. I love you.
"world is fully destructible... including (spoiler)" got me completely unprepared. Kibitz went little bit more crazy than normal but thats why i am here for - good fun and crazy sheniniganes with factory games.
Interesting, its a bit more like 3D Factorio than Satisfactory is Shared belts, random worldgen, belt grabby things, solar & steam power, science packs... Also, the digging for resources looks like a fun twist :D
Anyone else notice that this 100 days vid is basically the equivalent of the entirety of his Satisfactory Season 3 let's play? And that season was 59 eps!
This actually looks really good, especially for early access. It seems to go into a lot of detail about the processes and the very large buildings are something that you don’t see much in other games, sure satisfactory has a few large buildings and the space elevator but nothing like this really with the blast furnace and air towers. It will be interesting to see how it eventually ends up.
lol I had a comment on deck at the 5hr mark like "brother, the elevators dig the holes for you", but you figured it out. Played a bit on itch and a bit now that it's on steam, think it's great. I've been giving it and Techtonica time to just grow a bit before really diving in. Sort of biding my time and not trying to burn out on factory games until Satisfactory hits 1.0. Soon™
First you came from a ruined space station, then ended in a ruined factory... maybe you were the robot that blew up the space station in the first place.
So, I regularly work on blast furnaces... and it actually made me excited seeing how they designed the blast furnace to a pretty decent accuracy.... almost instantly got the game... thank you for posting this!
I listen to Kibitz music on Spotify so much that it I not only recognize the music in the background, but it reminds me of the other parts of my life where I have said music playing.
I have to be honest that I like that this game takes a lot more inspiration FUNCTIONALLY from Factorio. One thing if always hated in Satisfactory was having to work out belt routing to balance out the belts with splitters and mergers to insert directly into the building. This game takes the Factorio approach and just says “okay yeah just have it yoink something off the belt and the rest keeps going.” Way more compact, way less brain work, and so I can spend more time on expanding and less time summoning Cthulhu with belts.
Kibitz does more in 100-ish hours than mere mortals do in 10,000. And then blows it all up. Watched at 2x speed as it's like watching Kibitz go at his normal speed.
tbf he probably makes enough to pay his bills from playing and recording, so he can spend hours doing this where as for the rest of us, around 4 a day is a huge luxury.
I sincerely hope that when Foundry gets a Full release that you’ll make a proper play through series out of it. This game certainly looks like it’ll be fun to play, so I might pick it up myself. Anyways, you did an amazing job with this video!
I found you through your Nuclear-Pasta Episode of your last Satisfactory playthrough and have been hooked ever since. I really love the editing style of the episodes and i am looking forward to the next season of satisfactory.
This game is really cozy and enjoyable to progress through. Wish more people gave it a chance. More of a good formula done well for a reasonable price is never a bad thing.
I have been agonising over how to build a nice item mall for a while and couldn't make two stories work to my satisfaction and out of nowhere here you are in a throwaway screenshot of a nice item mall. I have been schooled
In case you didnt know, you can use human elevators to dig down to the right height for the ore veins, then blow shit up from there.... and the freight elevators will also dig down once you connect top to bottom :D
Still waiting for one of these games to actually make players need to conserve the ecosystem in a fun way. The "desire to destroy" meme just doesn't land right when we're seeing it happen irl.
imkibitz for president and prime minister and king of every country. he knows how to turn a train wreck disaster planet into a TITAN OF INDUSTRY AND SUPER DUPER PROFITT

Never forget: Humanity took 20,000 years to figure out how to boil water to turn turbines to make electricity in the most efficient way. Piezo electrics just don't do the trick...yet.
To be honest, after about 2 minutes in the videos I knew I would never be able to play this game properly. Absolutely no chance! My brain would explode 🤯🤯 I'm way too stupid for these kinds of games. But it is very entertaining to watch.
So it's a mix between the blockiness of minecraft, the complexity of factorio, and the building system of satisfactory... if only it had a different art style
Using item elevators is a throughput loss. Instead of using that 3x3 space for them, use spiraling belts in a 2x4 space. Takes up a few more cubes and a little more effort, but the throughput is unmatched.
You're playing like Satisfactory, not Factorio. You didn't had a Mall or the conveyor lanes feeding your factory. Then again, is cool to be able to build vertical too! The 2D and 3D styles make 2 different types of factory, even if the developer layer height like other 2D games it would be janky. Saying that there's also mods that allow you to build a factory in another "dimensions" and connect with your world factory, there's mods that make exploration of other planets possible too and create factories on those planets, like Dyson Sphere.
Having almost 300 hours into Stellaris, some of those late game structures just scream Paradox design lol I also cried when you destroyed everything.... Whyyyyy
This was awesome, kinda hoped it was a series though. Any room to go back to it and do "Series" 2 with all your new found knowledge? Perhaps when they add to the game? Loved the video BTW :D
5:20 🤓☝ well technicaly its called fractional distilation. this is like the only chance i will get to use my knowledge from my IGCSE D.T/Chemistry ever
Would have been cool if all the oil and more flammable stuff caused an even greater explosion when destroyed with explosives. But its early access, so maybe in the future.
In an older version of the game, instead of finding massive ore veins to access infinite resources, you instead only had to mine down a certain distance to access 10-15 block tall layer of a singular resources. The way it is currently is a lot more interesting then that though and allows one to build a true underworld-like factory if one wanted to (me, I want to)
I had built massive underground factory in the old itch version. Granted I made a huge trench with elevators and covered over the top rather than exploding it all out. But I think lights power to light ratio is too bad and rather not do that
@@panzerswineflu I will gladly walk through poorly light rooms if it means I can fulfill the dream I've had from the moment I learned of this game of being a mole person.

say hello to factorio 2.0, should check it out. It's going to allow some crazy (hopefully) end game production!
Or you could just optimize the living shit out or your game so it runs factories that complete the game once per minute, *Factorio*
