- Land mode also known as From The Depths without the depths is definitely a hidden gem in the game to me, It's got far less love than the other modes and as such Is a little more.. interesting.. in a lot of ways but I utterly adore It! I really hope you all enjoy this first full playthrough into the desert world of Ashes Of The Empire within From The Depths!
Lots of things learned in this run which I will be taking forward If I continue to play this mode in the future! Let me know what you think!

It would be SUPER cool to see a tank-city design, mortal engines style, in an adventure mode.
Or maybe a giant hivemind of drones and vehicles that look like small buildings
@@lookatel3658 ooooh and every one is a crawling, walking, rolling etc house
I want Lathrix to make a Star Wars Clone Wars style walker, with between 6 to 10 legs.
now *that* would be impressive
@@Springtrap11556 AT-TE when?
I would love to see either a full "mothership" style run or a melee craft in the next adventure mode run, land or sea.
I know hes done a sea melee run, and honestly it was quite hilarious what he came up with. A new one would be cool, maybe this time on land.
I second the melee run. Especially if he goes the particle blade route!
Yes!!! A mother ship would be awesome. “My legions will destroy you” says lathrix as 100 1k planes fly towards the single enemy. (I know that isn’t realistic, but it would be cool)
A sail-powered sand skimmer mothership?
Melee run 2.0??
from the depths is a series we wish to see continued in the future!!!
Most definitely

I appreciate the after-action line up of the versions of the craft, shows the progression extremely well. Such a sudden end though, the player never expects to be hit with "A.I. dead" despite causing it in so many other craft.
Been watching since robocraft Lath, thank you for the years of content. Heres to many more!
Yeah. I've been watching for a long time also. Don't remember when I started watching, but it's been a while.
robocraft two is apparently coming out soon
@@rabidcabbage7230i've plagede the early acces. And soon. Is pretty for off in the future. From what i can see so far. Yet im still very exited for it.
Same!
@@rabidcabbage7230 gonna be utter shit. devs ruined the original, doubt they can make a good sequel. dont get your hopes up.
23:00 man builds a modern-design tank and is surprised it’s insanely effective.
Lmao love this channel
Do you know what would make the adventure mode on land much better? Decorations like grasses, trees and bushes. It would be so cool if the game world in general looked much nicer, including the sea. You could have algae or rocks at the bottom of the sea. Would be really cool if the devs would add that sooner or later.
I agree. It's part of what turned me off of the game the first time I played it. It's definitely still really fun without it, but I think this is well below-standard in terms of environments.
@@snark894 Absolutely correct. It's so much fun, but really isn't eye candy.
Adding islands and other landmasses would honestly make the sea adventure mode more interesting as it would create obstacles that forces the enemies to get closer before fighting, most of the time you can barely see anything.
The land adventure is better in that aspect since the hills forces fights to happen at closer ranges
Not more lag Noooooooooooo
adding a mix of land and sea adventure mode would be interesting
and everytime we went through an portal the seed would randomize
as someone who absolutely abhors the shift towards extremely shortform content, thank you for continuing to produce hour+ long videos - it is so much nicer to sit down with something for 10, 20, 30+ minutes at a time and not have to scramble to the next clip every 5 seconds
keep up the good work c:

I actually am really enjoying these more long-form videos of FtD. I think these past three FtD videos are some of my favorites of yours, and I would love to see more continued in the future!
Lathrix is on a roll with these! I love it. There is something that is so satisfying about a vehicle slowly getting build and rebuild, bit by bit. Without having to do any of the work or learn from the depths :D
always love drone runs, can't remember if you've done this before but a carrier run could be a neat challenge. where after a certain point the main craft only has defensive weapons, and all the damage comes from a group of several drones
From the depths full movies is a series, i wish to see continued in the future.
the music it 24:50 kills me. It's such a sick track with amazing timing for the drop and everything. Buildup into utter destruction with lath going "OHHH" 🤣
honestly the soundtrack being disjointed yet fitting simply merges well with your way of going from one thing to an other. the mood is simply perfect and I love those long vids, keep it up!
I know you've probably got several suggestions for it, but in the off chance you haven't had it revealed to you I think you'd really enjoy starsector. It's got customizable ships and planet management. Great replayability and a modding scene for late down the line. I love watching your long form content especially Stellaris, and other creators doing long form starsector hit a very similar vibe. Thanks for being awesome man! And take a look if you haven't already.
Happy to see you back on ftd! 😀
Enjoying the long start to finish adventures
If I keep coming back to this channel every week to find another full playthrough of an adventure mode of this game I am actually going to die from joy!
How do you keep pumping out these hour and half long videos in just mere 1 week intervals? This is some impressive stuff.
He is just editing down a 3 to 4 hour gaming session and as his editing style isnt all that flashy he can get away with relatively minimal work so the videos take little timevto make how do you think streamers get away with 15+ hour long streams thats generally how long a gaming session is
@@fernadogonzalez2940 If you have not played from the depths you would not understand it but it takes forever to make anything. I have around 600 hours in the game and in my time playing the adventure mode I can say that both of the water adventures took well over 20 hours of play time. The land adventure is generally smaller but still takes many hours.
@@fernadogonzalez2940As coldknight said, it's not 3-4 hours. The amount of footage, uneditted, would likely run well over 15 hours.
@@fernadogonzalez2940oh you naive, naive little man....
@@fernadogonzalez2940 For another game you'd be right but FtD is a very very slow game so closer to 20 hrs of content edited down. Probably a little more in fairness.
excited for more videos like this! i first started watching this channel when i was a Very Small Child during the first few FTD series, so im glad to see it make a comeback, and this good of one!
FTD Land Adventure mode? This is awesome! Have been awaiting this moment for so long. Thank you Lathrix for taking the risk and refreshing my desire to play the game.
I'm loving the land version of FTD just as much as the water version.
From the Depths is a series we wish to see continued in the future!!! (both land and water)
FROM THE DEPTHS IS A SERIES I WISH TO SEE CONTINUED IN THE FUTURE!!
YES INDEED I AM COMMENTING FOR THIS REASON
I, TOO, WISH TO HELP OUT LATHRIX AND HELP OUT THE CHANNEL
DON'T WE ALL WANT TO SEE IT CONTINUE
WISH TO SEE IT CONTINUE!!!
WHY ARE WE YELLING?
I would like to see more in the future as you say in the outro. A rematch is definitely in order! Also in a future ocean playthrough that same final weapon you had should make a cameo as a CIWS because I think it would be VERY effective at that role. And remember, unlike ships, tanks cannot have a real "citadel" that is separate from the external armor unless you go supermassive mega tank. For this reason penetrations into the fighting compartment are a real hazard since the external armor IS the citadel armor.
The nosedive of that first actual plane was glorious.
I agree. Just straight into the ground and died from speed.
I like how we have to specify the first actual plane and not the first flying thing
@@Resetiumto be fair, half of the vehicles in the sea mode are literally just flying fortresses or some similar thing
@@labbit35 i was probably referring to a tank that ended up in the air
A hodgepodge of flying, wheels, sled and walker craft fussed together into an unholy abomination would be cool to see.
Another FTD video, land adventure this time! I am so excited to watch!
Diff 1-20 i think its mostly fkying cars nukes and a ton of dusters and a sprinkle oh twingard
So happy to see from the depths back on the channel in such quantities. Favorite series by far
From the Depths is a series I would like to see continued in the future.
That was an amazing ending. I wasn't expecting your character to take a hit; the possibility wasn't even on my radar.
I know you said vision was set so everyone could always see everyone in this playthrough, but that got me wondering if a run where detection is necessary, and you focus on messing with it or approaching detection in unusual ways, could be interesting.
Also, because I still can't get over the Spirit of Motherwill, I'd love to see a land campaign where you make a large walker as your main vehicle and maybe use some quick melee drones for offense.
Ftd is a series I would love to see more of in the future!
I am so glad you decided to make a compilations of your adventure mode in FTD. I found always difficult to build under pressure.
Keep up the good vive!🎉
FTD is a series, I wish to see continued in the future.
The frontal armor could probably have been made less concave, but such is hindsight. Neat run, praise the algorithm.
It's been wonderfull to watch your ftd content again, i really do like these longer complete run videos!
I honestly think this was way cooler than the water maps. I also second the idea that it would be really cool to get up to difficulty 100, and then manage to survive and gather enough resources to build up a proper mortal engines style moving city, though that might take too long to be reasonable.
Hey lath, if you ever do more land stuff in the future.
I'd like to point out a little trick for making tanks extremely responsive.
It's a tedious thing to setup, especially if you are constantly rebuilding your craft, however.
Manually customize the side traction of your wheels.
The ones that are the most lined up with the center of mass should be set to 1. The further away you go, the lower you set it, down to about 0.5.
This gives you the perfect balance of being able to turn fast, while also not drifting around like crazy. I typically speaking have the 3-4 wheels closest to the center of mass set to thse higher values, and the rest to 0.5. It works great for most of my tanks.
These always motivate me to go play FtD myself. Maybe try to cram all the tiny little guns I can this time or something else silly.
But these are certainly something I would like to see more in the future.
FTD is some of my favorite content, because of how absolutely customizable everything is. Every Adventure, Campaign, and individual build are different and change how you play.
Really love these longplay style formats, keep em coming and I'll keep watching em!
I wonder what a space adventure mode would be like
Thata essentially space engineers with hostile AI mods
Pure cheese since a lot of enemies can't reach that high, weapons or themselves.
@@thunderatsea3843 Realistically, the devs would only need to remove the height limits for crafts, delete all land and water and then adjust the rules so that everything from Min-Max height is counted as Space. (This is a very abridged take on what they would need to do, but it's an easy enough plan to act upon.)
The amount of possibilites for a space adventure mode would be absolutely limitless, really.
The only real time consuming problem is, that an entirely new set of space worthy crafts would need to be added.
Countless designs for the most space worthy factions. (for instance Scarlet Dawn, Twin Guard, Lighting Hoods, maybe even the Steel Striders, + a DWG type faction)
The community would provide a lot of designs that could take on that challenge, but it would still take a lot of time for them to be able to roll it out.
I meant space as it is already in the game (above a certain high is considered space, even if you have to basically bounce to stay there.) While yeah a space adventure mode would be fun, it would yeah take a lot to implement.
Fun fact: in IRL HEAT the copper isn't molten. The confusion comes from the fact that it's under such extreme forces that during the inversion it behaves as if it was a liquid and we model it as such, but it's a solid cone transforming into a solid penetrator and remaining solid during the process. If it was actually liquid it would've performed quite worse.
Just finished an 11-hour shift and actually did a quiet yell out loud when I saw this upload. Thank you so much, the past 3 uploads actually got me back into the adventure mode again!
How does one yell loudly and quietly at the same time
@@lookatel3658 you know that whisper scream that you do instead of actually belting somet at the top of your lungs
Just keep the FtD content coming!
Would love to see a "guides" series from you too with stuff like advanced cannons, basic pid hover systems and so on.
It's nice getting another FTD video Lath, keep up the great work!
I believe you'll make 100! Love these long videos!! Love this content! I've got to learn to replay this game, you make it look so fun!! and your designs are wicked!
I really like the way the tank looks as soon as treads are put on it. The body of the tank having the tread area differentiated like that is always so nice~ Glad the design showed up as minions later on as well, and I love seeing all the stages line up at the end.
From the Depth IS a series i wish to see continued in the future!
Love these FTD vids. Though I love most stuff you put out. It's awesome to see what you do with all the games you play. Keep it up Lath!
It should have been “From the Depths without the *depths”.*
From the shallows 😆
God i love un watered from the depths, these videos are so fun to watch sir.
Dehydrated from the depths is amazing
@@hardcorelace7565 I do love it when my FtD is deficient in H2O
Love your videos man I remember watching them years ago and I just came across this one and it brought back so many great memories ❤
Thank you for making this video! After the last full adventure, I was waiting for it, and here it is. Btw, I would like to see you make a challenge in From the Depths to use only close-quarter weapons like particle canon in its blade version, and I personally think that taking other crafts over would make the video more fun because it would include more risk of getting close to difficult enemies and ideally trying to disable them and not just do as much damage as possible. But I like seeing high numbers too, of course!
I really love the way land campaigns go in FTD. I wonder if you could do a drone build like you did last time you did land but have the drones just be for targeting. Then have some big really accurate gun on a craft that is basically just a rolling gun or missile platform? Maybe cram mortars or something? I remember you could make them somewhat homing so some sort of either big singular shot or a large number of smaller ones? You could even put missile defenses on the drones so that they can take out incoming missiles and defend the main craft.
having a big fuck-off cannon(preferrably CRAM, it just fits the concept) and then using "spotters" to find your tartget is such a cool idea. something similar to the tank lath died to would be very interesting also. APS with a focus on sheer armor penetration. I just love advanced cannons
@@fireblow6842 So i had a realization. Between ballons and rtg power i dont think they need to cost anything to maintain either. Cost would be around 10kish i think? But damn the concept feels solid.
@@ronaldmahan8417 would rotorblades be an option? I have like 10 to 50 hrs in the game and have "specialized" on boats, APS and fuel engines as these are the most interesting concepts to me and I need to start somewhere. I am at the point where I've successfully built a small somewhat tanky boat with two advanced cannon turrets. Volume I forgot but cost is around 25k. In other words, my practical knowledge of the game is very limited
@@fireblow6842 Anything is an option
@@ronaldmahan8417 well, yes. But taking into account your concern with energy/material use, rotorblades might give you more options for movement than a balloon
And RTG's are expensive
I love that that one vehicle was called the “Hexer” because it is almost identical to the “Hetzer” tank destroyer from World War II
from the depths is a series we wish to see continued in the future!!!
You have no idea how long I have been watching you. Love the content and always will! stay safe man.
Also more to start a conversation...... anybody else here miss seeing lath here try to make bases and space stations?

I love these long vids so much man, please keep 'em comin!
Man these full length videos are really doing it for me! Keep up the awesome work!
from the depths is a series I wish to see continued in the future
Would be really cool if you did a water adventure run with a volume limit related to the difficulty level. So you were capped at a certain volume until you got to a certain difficulty.
I know these longer videos are harder for the algorithm but I absolutely love them and hope you continue to make them!
Please do a campaign playthrough again it's been ages and with everything you've learned since I'd love to see it. Currently binging your campaign from six years ago and love the series
So glad to see From The Depths back on the channel! The fact this one is a land adventure made my day!
from the depths is a series we wish to see continued in the future! :D
i definitely want to see more land-adventure mode!
and i have two little suggestions for when you do.
1. since you seem to end up ramming enemies by accident quite often, add some melee weapons like spikes to your vehicle!
2. a design base idea. instead of a basic tank build, give your vehicle some legs! something like the enemy you faced at 54:05, four spider legs with wheels. or make it six if you need more stability. just make the legs go wide enough to not be too top heavy and you should be fine.
love the content! Also think you will make it up to 80 to 100, you don't give yourself enough credit. Hope to see more awesome crafts.
From the Depths is a series I would love to see continued in the future!
"Now your child is mine. See children, they are mean traitorous creatures."
who hurt you?
Really happy to see full playthroughs! Was enjoying the shorter 20-30 minute episodes, but very much so enjoying the longer content! From the depths is absolutely a series I wish to see continued in the future!
Also: I think you’re going to get to difficulty 50
another new idea for a new challenge run... the squat land train. every major expansion to your vehicle has to be built as a separate chunk, attached to the back of all those that were there before. (though it wouldn't have to be articulated like a train, unless you made each 'car' as a separate vehicle.) (for added difficulty, you could say that each module must be built in one go, and attached to the back of the train before you can continue moving)
i would add the exception that you can upgrade the armour and engine power of the first actual 'train' part you build, as it would have to survive and pull all the other pieces
Would be could to see an adventure mode in water with the challenge of having to make 1 new vehicle per defensive/offensive system, so that you have to command and combine a little army of things instead of controlling it all from a big ass single convenient package of a vehicle, maybe acting as the swarm enemies that spawn sometimes
Yeah, a weaponless mothership, with only defences and repairsystems.
And the actual weapons dronebased, with different drones for different weapons.
All one planar bound.
Would be something I would like to see in the future.
I'd definitely like to see you try a big base crawler in this and ring the bell incessantly, go big or go home.
I really like how you just stole the enemy drones, and used them to kill the the same drones.
I'd love to see more Land Adventure! Have a nice day!
I'd love to see a scavenger run with an emp main weapon to capture enemy ships. instead of scrapping for materials you convert them to build an army of captured minions
I always love your full playthrough!
great video! Maybe you could show us the inside of your crafts in the future and explain the components / armoring?
Sometimes I wish I am 5% as knowledgable in FtD…
I try building aircraft, it goes into space
I try building tank, the tracks don’t work (yes I selected tank wheel preset too)
I try building ship, it’s too slow
Add hydrofoils and a jet engine with ACBs, now it flops and sinks to the bottom of the ocean
I try building a submarine, it refuses to go anywhere deeper than 0m and once it does it tells me “too low” and explodes like Oceangate
The only things I can actually make sense of are the weapons and engine - can’t make an AI, propulsion or hull worth a damn, and preset hulls aren’t what I want 90% of the time…
i love his designs in this game
A Warhammer style tank or titan would be a really cool design to see!
I really liked the early step by step progression
Like many of the games you play, I’m just waiting for this to go on sale.
Edit: New challenge: Military intelligence. You’re only allowed to look inside vehicles that you capture, and you have to remember the weaknesses for future encounters.
I feel like Lathrix should do what he did with the mech body but just make it a specialized cannon
I'd guess heat minigun worked so well because heat itself is not that reliable, it deals a lot of damage but only if you hit a good spot, meanwhile those little heat shells deal less damage, have a smaller penetration so less "good spots" to hit, but because of how much of them there are, they ALWAYS hit the good spot, therefore as long as the enemy craft is in a certain armor range, in terms of toughness and such, they will destroy it, but once you go above certain range they become pretty bad.
Something something algorithm. Something something lathrix. Something something darkside.
The full playthroughs are great!
keep it up, dude. great entertainment. fire that algorithm!

I am disappointed that you didn't make a pirate themed land-boat just to be cheeky about doing a land-build. But I did enjoy the video.
This dude put a naval canon on a Halo warhog
Oooooooo this is so fuckin cool and I haven't even watched it yet ❤❤❤❤
Edit: finished watching it, still love it! You should try to build a landship like the Ratte or something!
I would love to see a drone challenge or as mentioned earlier a mortal engines style rolling city.
As a terratch player, it would have been fun if you built a speed demon with only very light armor, and just missile and shield spam. No idea if that would work because of munnition defense but anyway.
If that works, i wish you try that some day because its way too heckin fun just spinning around your ennemy with them being able to do literally nothing exept getting pelted with like 10 missiles per second
These videos are a dream come true
Love the long episode’s though I’ll admit setting aside the time to watch hour plus video can be difficult at times.
I’d love to see you attempt a Turret knight episode we’re you aim to create a literal chaos knight craft. :D
