- Can I Beat From The Depths using a weapon which I've always considered terrifiying but only a potent and overpriced side weapon? Today marks the day I learn more about the game than any other run I have ever done! And yes.. there is two difficulty 25 pop ups, because I was very tired.
There was a major delay in this video due to a whole host of real life things stacking up and I should be back to a more "normal" upload schedule by the end of June, thank you all so much for your patience!

Firstly I'm so sorry this video is late and I really do hope you enjoy It One of the most fun times I've had in FtD! Now, as usual here are the editing mistakes since this is a Lathland video:
The difficulty 25 pops up twice, the second should be a 30!
At 1:10:40 ish - The first fight sadly the game crashed (Issue with being on the alpha test branch, lots of crashes. At least 10 in total) and I forgot to remove that clip before the next fight vs the jellyfish lad happened.
At 1:51:55 - I check the config to make sure damage was set to only regular (1.0, which it was!) since I really thought I had left it incorrectly high after doing some tests with anti-cram PAC weapons moments earlier in the sandbox mode! ...I was very tired.
I also mumble "Wait a sec, why must you do this to me" as I got a text and my phone was resting on my mic stand, hence the sudden pause!
Hey lathrix, we understand. Baby fluffes, house, and health struggles are more important than our fix. Even if we're addicted, your life is yours. I've been following your channel for years since the times you would have full play through runs on the ftd campaigns.... Always entertaining. Have an awesome time man and just know I have my own unfortunate stuff going on and your video is nice a little thing to enjoy amidst all that. Have a good day, and now that we have incendiary weapons I think a wood armor only run would be hilarious. 😂

From the depths challenge idea: crab you are only allowed to walk on the bottom of the ocean and must resurface only for portal travel.
In the adventure mode last time I went to the bottom of the ocean it doesn’t really have solid floor least at -500 if there a floor below idk
Wouldn't it be super easy since most craft can't see/hit you underwater?

I have owned many a ball of fluff of various sizes and types, all are fluffy and all are adorable and definitely worthwhile.
If you think little balls of fluff take up a lot of time, try a newfoundland
Reminder you can mimic a block called “empty” to avoid making things small and hiding them when hiding blocks!
I have been told that at least 10 times and at least 10 times I just forget when I'm using It.. I will remember one day, I swear!

Challenge idea: Angry Beehive. Your goal is to make more than double digit small craft that either suicide into the enemy, or otherwise swarm and sting the enemy. All melee weapons allowed plus nukes because nukes are fun regardless of effectiveness. Show the enemy why they should fear bees. Also allowed 1 or 2 larger melee dronecraft to be dubbed Murder Hornets.

Dont worry too much about lost footage man, its impressive enough that you made 3 weeks of footage into a coherent and genuinely enjoyable viewing experience.
Usually not a big fan of minimalism, but the top half of this vessel is honestly probably one of your best! The two banks of fixed particle cannons, the very large round turret, and the spinal mount guns were all so cool.
Also, you mentioning campaign mode made me realize just how long it's been since you've done campaign mode. I'd love to see you do one of these challenge runs in campaign mode, especially if you try to build up an entire fleet and faction in the style of this ship. I think the aesthetics of the craft from this run would look so cool expanded to an entire fleet of different vessels.
Heck, he could even use the different stages of design of the ship as separate ship classes themselves!

Campaign but he can only use craft he has saved from previous Adventure series.
@@Goat_gamering That could be interesting, though as he mentioned, he'd want to make tweaks if he were to be making a bunch of them to use in campaign mode. Maybe he has to use adventure mode crafts, but he can modify the so long as he doesn't make major hull modifications.

Here's an idea for another challenge run. No holds barred, any weapon or tactic, but your maximum size/cost is SEVERELY limited, so you have to fight up significantly above your weightclass. I think it might be cool to see an absolute underdog taking out behemoths.
Carft can only cost 1/2 of the average craft on any difficulty
I think I know what happened to the singularity, I have often used ring shields and one of their quirks is that they are HIGHLY volatile, during use energy is pumped into the ring shield, if one of the ring shield tubes is destroyed said energy is released violently like a damaged particle cannon. you hit several of their ring shields with the piercing shots and they caused a chain reaction
I love minimalism, puppies and blowing the brains out of Twin Guard craft in particular.

I think that PACs prove that this game is overall astonishingly well balanced, considering what it's chosen to add. They do obscene damage and have no counters but don't overshadow other weapons simply because they're inflexible.
I think the weapon balance would be perfect with a tech tree. If PACs are slightly above par but not egregious with everything available, they feel perfect as a branch capstone.

Not just so hard the game had to do a "Node graph out of date; rebuilding" moment, but so hard the entire rear of the enemy ship didn't know what to do with itself

I haven’t finished watching the video yet, but one thing I can say is the ship designs you make are absolutely beautiful!
How does he do it I ask?
Runs into ship with massive several hundred-ton hydrofoil craft at 330 km/h:
Literally nothing happens
You would save yourself a lot of headache by making your craft a bit bigger and adding large storage sections. You're full around 29:00. Any damage you take to containers in that state is extremely costly since you lose the contents. Just go overkill on cargo containers - get 500,000~1,000,000 storage so you don't have to worry about losing any or adding small amounts of storage bit by bit as you go. Containers are cheap and very durable.

Such a minimalist episode.
From the depth challenge idea: you are only able to use an even number of each weapon. So in the beginning, you can have 1 aps, 1 cram, 1 laser, ext... but you have to add one of each every time you want to add more.
And an extra idea to make it more of a challenge, you have to make then roughly equal power. So you can't just have a really overpowered laser, and the rest is just really weak.

Also, having watched through this whole thing I can see why you had so much fun with this run, and your new minimalism approach worked very well. Not quite as fun as your old blood and skulls approach, but far more practical for a craft that is going to regularly be completely redesigned.

Great times with particle cannons, but what about something... simple? How far can you get using only simple weapons?

Just started watching and already enjoying the Vid. At the risk of coming across as a "play the game my way" internet opinion type, I do have a suggest or "From The Depths Challenge Idea"
Setup: I love these vids because of the weapon system development, deployment and evolution but it's missing a element - Battle Doctrine or Engagement Tactics. Set at the start of development (to help define the WS requirements and attributes) example: NASCARs - ET is to turn left. So the WS requirements are a biased steering geometry.
Now say if you set your ET at the start being " only engage whilst moving - close distance with contact at speed whilst maneuvering {holding fire} - Set course to intercept once in range of PLRWS (Presion Long range Weapon Systems) - Engage - Intercept contact at speed - engage HAEWS (Alpha Strike) when in range - Pass contact at speed on presenting vehicle side of most biased defense - Evade to orbit around contact at max LRWS range (or evade to the contacts Max LRWS if you get your ass handed to you)
If you build you ship(s) WS's and Layout to fit a Doctrine I believe you will create some OUTSTANDING Killing Machines and enthralling content!

I do hope to see a full campaign playthrough at some point as I'm not sure you've ever done one from beginning to end, but I know it can be poison for the algorithm even more then long form videos.
