The Ford Focus RS is dead, and there’s little sign it’s coming back any time soon. The Mk4 Focus ST is far from a bad car, but what about those looking for more whilst pining for Focus RS? Perhaps, this ought to do it, the new Ford Focus ST Edition.
Sadly this edition features no more power, but that's not all bad as it uses the same engine in the standard Focus ST meaning 280hp and 420Nm of torque. 0-62 is also unchanged, but when you consider it will 5.7 seconds, I'm you'll agree that's plenty. The top speed is the same 155mph as the standard Focus ST.
Hang on then, what exactly is new then? Well for starters you have the Azura Blue paintwork, which is contrasted by a black roof, black door mirrors and black alloys, which are lighter compared to those fitted to the standard Focus ST. There's also standard-fit KW coilovers to give even better handling. The ST Edition also benefits from the digital instrument cluster which is not available on a standard pre-facelift Focus ST.
The new 2022 Ford Focus ST Edition is priced a little under £36,000 and and comes with additional ST Edition features such as the Azura Blue paint, lighter alloys and the KW coilovers. On top of that, there’s also standard features such as ST styling, 19” alloys, keyless entry, Recaro sports seats, heated front seats, digital instrument cluster, dual zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, heated steering wheel, navigation, and smartphone connectivity to name a few.

I agree with your sentiments regarding the ST edition/RS comparison. The ST is, though, a very versatile car and it’s exclusivity just adds to its appeal.

Great review. I picked one of these up new so had it a year now. What a great car. Handles like a dream. And pretty rapid. The only downside would be the exhaust. You have to gun the pants off it to make it pop and bang. Unlike the i30N which just sounds better. So I upgraded exhaust so all is now well. Because I traded my fiesta st edition in orange in for it and had 4K positive equity in it and some dealer discount I paid no way near the 36j asking price. I had considered changing for i30N dct which do want. But the monthly price to change is an additional £150 month minimum and it’s just not worth it. So will stick with it for the time being. Would you be in agreement and not change? Anyway top info as usual and if anybody is considering getting one don’t hesitate.

Was thinking about getting either a GR 86 or Facelift mean green focus ST, but went for this instead.
Was instantly available, got a great deal on it and the seats are much nicer than those in the facelift. Not only do the new seats look cheap and ugly, integrated headrests just absolutely suck if you're tall. More adjustability is always better.

Hmm, I'm not sure I'd pay £2,500 extra for just the wheels and paint LOL. Mind you, you'd pay more than that if you had a standard Focus ST and wanted to match the specification. Thanks for watching.

Got mine for 37.000€ in germany, isn't really (much) more than the normal fully equipped ST's listed online. I think they didn't sell well so you can get them pretty cheap as dealerships have to make space for the new model.
