Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession and welcome to another POV review. As it's Easter I've brought you an absolutely 'cracking' hot hatch in the form of the new Ford Focus ST Edition. This is a limited edition model to make the end of the pre-facelift as it's ready to retire and make way for the new model.
Power remains the same, which may disappoint some, but the 2.3 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine is still good for 280hp and 420Nm. 62mph is done in under 6 seconds and the top speed is 155mph.
There may be nothing new when it comes to the engine department but there's a lick of new, Azura Blue, paintwork, which is contrasted by some nice black glossy bits as well as lighter alloys and coilovers supplied by KW.
Power is still fed to the front wheels via a slick-changing 6-speed manual gearbox and there is also an e-LSD and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres to help get you through the corners as fast as possible.

Great car, great engine, great real world review! Ford know how to make exciting feel good cars. The B&O sound system is superb, although I’d equally enjoy listening to that exhaust note!

I bought a black st estate this morning 😅cant wait
I’ve had mine 6 months. I love it. Was never really a fan of the focus until had it in this colour. Due to having large positive equity in my fiesta st performance edition (orange) and a little discount got my focus well below retail. Its practical , quite fast and looks great. I may trade it in for Hyundai i30N next year . Haven’t decided yet. Very comprehensive review. Great as always. Keep up the good work bud

A good review. The stunning Azura blue is a refreshing change from the usual black, white and grey colours that dominate UK roads. But the Focus ST Edition is a rare car so good luck to anyone trying to spot one

Heard you say that in the comparison with the i30N as well, what do you mean by "420Nm in overboost" there's no "Overboost" function. I think the old ST let you rev 300rpm higher for a couple of seconds, can't find anything about "Overboost" with the current model, it just has 420Nm of torque.
I'm pretty sure the Ford spec sheet said overboost, but that was some time ago. Thanks for watching.

Nice review. Sorry for being a pain 🤓 had a ST mk4 for a month but I’m struggling to drive it the clutch is hard. I hold it on biting point and try to ease it up to move forward a tad in traffic it wants to catapult my foot off and go for a Launch . I think it’s not right but Ford saying nothing wrong , it’s making me not want the car
Don't forget the optional 8 speed auto
