- 2022 Ford Focus ST POV Review [Car Obsession]
Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another POV review. This time around it's the very green, very mean Ford Focus ST, which has now entered the facelift phase of its fourth (and possibly last) generation. The new car has been treated to a new face, new sport seats (no longer Recaro) and a new 13.2" touchscreen supporting Ford's new Sync 4 system.
Power from the 2.3 litre turbocharged four cylinder remains unchanged, meaning you'll get 280hp along with 420Nm of torque. Power is fed to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual, although an automatic can be had if you prefer. 62mph is dealt with in 5.7 seconds, and the top speed is 155mph.

Thanks man, I appreciate the honest review. I'm looking at buying this here in Taiwan where I live. It's about NT$1.3 million here (so about 35,000 GBP), so a bit cheaper on these shores, but still a tad more than the Honda Fit I'm driving now. I do like those engine sounds though, and the 6MT!
Fantastic review mate i would love an ST one day, just subscribed keep up the great reviews
Thanks pal, appreciate the kind feedback and the sub!
Cant wait for my magnetic to arrive! All options apart from heads up display as not a fan of the screen on the dash

Got my one without that annoying heads up display 😂
Bang on about the high price...almost £40k for a Focus ST😟🙈
Yeah, so much money! Thanks for watching 👍🏽.
@@CarObsession i feel ford are pricing themselves out on most of their vehicles. I ve owned 5 Focus ST's all Mk 3.5's all from new. My current ST3 Mk 3.5 cost me £22,500 with a privilege voucher in 2018. That's an affordable hot hatch.....just look up the price of say a puma ST compared to the fiesta ST there's a massive gulf in their mrrp.....shame on Ford😡
@@jason147h6 It's not just Ford, look at the price of the new Type R 😱
@Honda fan James Thanks for watching James!
@Xtal I can see where you're coming from, but the idea of a hot hatchback is that it should offer a performance car that is affordable. For a bit more money, you could get something like a Porsche Cayman.
As much as I know the new car will be awesome, do the changes Honda has made add up to a price increase of around (if not more) than £10,000? I've driven the FK2 and the FK8, and I would say there is a noticeable leap in evolution between the cars, yet the price difference wouldn't have been as large as that as the FK8 and the FL5, and I'm confident the leap in performance between the two won't be as large.
Either way, it'll be an awesome car, but the price is outstanding.
Thanks for watching.
No HUD ☹
What do you mean?
@@CarObsession You haven't got the flip up heads up display. Where there is the recess above the instrument binnacle is where the HUD is fitted.
@@diamus1004 Yes, I have, you can see the housing for it on top of the dash. It just wasn't active at the time of filming.
@@CarObsession Thanks. I love mine, licence saver. Can stay eyes out the car but still keep an eye on the speed. I think it is standard on the 4.5 mine was an option.
