Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. It's been a while since I've done an infotainment review, and seeing as Ford has released its 'Sync 4' system I thought it was about time the infotainment reviews make a comeback.
In this video I'll be walking you through the new Ford Sync 4 system, its features as well as testing the in-built sat nav and the park assist. If you have any questions or queries please get in touch, but bear in mind I no longer have the car as it was loaned to me for a week by Ford UK.

Tolerance is for the on-board speed limiter is really good. Pretty much all speedos overestimate your speed.
So if you can figure out the difference between your speedo reading and your actual speed by using GPS, say you’re speedo says you’re doing 30 but GPS says you’re doing 28, then you can set the speed limiter tolerance to 2 and just use the speed limiter all the time and you’ll always be bang on the speed limit without going over it.
I have the ST with Sync 3, and im glad I still have the physical buttons. Feeling buttons without looking is better than trying to adjust your depth perception while driving to touch a small icon on a screen.
Same here. Is there anyone who likes those touchscreen controls? What color is your ST? Is it ST 3,5?
Yeah, buttons are much better than than sliding on a screen.
With Ford Sync 4 you can set up the voice control on the Ford Sync 4 infotainment system to activate when you say Hey Ford you just go to settings for the voice recognition on Ford Sync 4 and go to Voice Recognition settings and tap on the on screen switch that says Listen for wake up word and you can also make a custom wake word

Does this car have any ambient lighting at all? Changeable colours? Or is it with the performance pack?
Late answer but it does have ambient lighting, only one color though which is blue. It doesn’t have led lines around but the ambient lighting is at the door handles, on the legs of the passenger and few places around. It’s not intrusive and you can control how strong it is through sync 4 but it’s not as impressive as an Audi with ambient lighting
This is really useful thanks. Such a shame that even with such a large screen, Android Auto only displays one app at a time 5:09 - the 1 series I currently drive, which pre-dates this system, has a smaller screen and still manages two apps side by side without having to toggle through them.
I agree it’s made me think of buying an iPhone (for the first time ever)
Does that fit in the older ford focus st line ? You have a smaller screen in that one than this

Hi, I noticed that your audio is off and the button Sound is disabled on your SYNC... Why? How to turn it on? Because I have the same problem with my Ford Tourneo Courier 2024, there is also SYNC 4. I have connected my phone via Apple CarPlay, Spotify plays but without sound, and the radio is without sound too.
Is the sync 4 worth it compared to sync 3? In which areas is it better and where is the old system better?

@@CarObsessionIf it's like the Sync 3 you can put it permanently in night mode, which enables darker themes.
When I connect my S22 to the 2023 Focus SYNC4 system, my GPS location in MAP changes to different locations, so it's not working properly.. have done all the updates. While "Maps Go" running simultaneously on the phone shows the correct location, my location appears in very different and wrong places in the SYNC4 Maps program running at the same time. It's really very frustrating. because i can't use map on SYNC4

It can be full screen of course. Just Apple car play has the “maximize” icon left mid and the android car play has it right and up, press them and you ll get the equivalent CarPlay in full screen

Nope, nowhere near Norwich. This was filmed near Chichester.

Just picked up mine today in frost white :-) trying to find ambient light setting in the menu but can't see anything (to change interior light colours) any idea?
dont think it can be changed - check owners manual, mine had nothing in it about it

Does anyone know how to reset sync 4 my screen is displaying a black screen
It may sound silly, but has the screen simply be turned off.

It has both Apple and android wireless

GPS will help you to the destination, but not always the best route. So use common sense.
It depends on the sat nav system. Some brands use a system that offer you choices such as shortest in distance, fastest, etc. Thanks for watching.
Most gps offer choice or have options that you can set such as “fastest route preferable” etc. a GPS WILL in 99% choose the fastest route
Wtf is slippery drive mode
It's a driving mode to help when conditions offer less traction.
