- Symptoms are fans run during cool conditions. AC won’t work and temp gauge won’t work#car repair #2015 Chevy Malibu #air won’t turn on #temperature gauge not working #cooling fans won’t shut off. This fixed my car , may not fix yours. This should only be attempted if u have the mechanical ability to complete properly
Dude you saved my day, i have been watching every video made about the coolant temp sensor on these malibu's but noone ever went on to say it didnt fix the temp guage and a/c message, so thank you for goin all the way for us who have/had the same issue. Thanks, TJ
I disconnected the positive cable from the battery for 10 minutes
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help
Greati information. This helped us fix our car for only the cost of the sensor which was ten dollars and some change. The only thing that i will add is that the clip goes back into some grooves in the housing around where the sensor pops down into. Once we figurd that out w were done in like 5 minutes. Thank you again!!!!
I’m having the exact issue. Will be doing this after work. Many thanks.
Thanks for the follow-up at the end of the video!
Doing this as soon as I get off of work!! Thank you!!!!
Tyvm! Got the sensor replaced perfectly, and it fixed all the issues. 🎉🙌
Good job!
Hey brother thank you for your video it helped me out easy ! God bless!!!
Glad to hear! God bless u as well
Thank you mine is doing the same and pulling code. I am going to do it today
Thank you so much this did help!
Sir this was great info exactly what my car problem was. I did it and it cost me no more than 40$ because I had to buy more coolant. But before that my wife took it in to a shop to get it checked they were charging her 350$ to fix the problem 😂 I was like babe let me take a look at it took me 5 min and my scanner tool to figure out what was wrong with it. Also you don't necessarily have to disconnect your battery if you got a scanner you can just delete the error code ones replaced and turn the car on and that should save you time.
Thank you for watching and commenting
Mines didn't throw an error code my fan stayed on, temp gauge wasn't working, ac wasn't pushing like it should so you may have to disconnect the battery if your problem is the same as mines. Thank you for the video it fixed my problem.
Definitely helped appreciate it
Thanks for watching!
That’s why you should disconnect the negative cable before you start.
Thanks a lot yo I just replaced it cost me 10$
Glad I could help!
What about the other sensor thats right off the rad
Was the coolant levels in the car steady my coolant tank empties out really quick right after filling it up oil levels are decent but
Cooling level was fine
replaced sensor disconected battery but issue comes back randomly
Did the problem ever comeback after disconnecting the battery. Like a few days later? Just curious, i did the same thing about two days ago, since then running no problem.
Nope it’s been working fine every since
@@mywaymanufacturing2817 Thanks for the response 👍
Was this sensor #1?
Do the sensor pull out or you have to twist it out?
After the clip is removed it pulls out
Hey my air isn’t coming on but my fans are working
Mines doing the same the fan keeps going but the air conditioning does work tho
😮did u fix it
How did you get the clip back on
Should go on pretty easy
I replaced mine and its leaking a lot, it this normal? how do I fix that
Not normal, you need to take it back apart and look at it. There is an o-ring that seals it
What if it’s leaking after
My guess would be either it is not pushed in all the way or the owing seal got damaged
Thanks for the info. I changed mine but the dash guage still does not work. There was no check code just the guage not working. Did you disconnect both neg/pos battery terminals? Hope you will answer when you can.
I just unhooked one cable , just to kill the power so the Ecm would reset. On mine , the gauge wasn’t working, neither was the air conditioner, the cooling fans ran continuously. I do seem to remember, and it’s been a while, but I think that there are 2 temp sensors. I wonder if u have an issue with the other one? Maybe research on google could find out. Hope this helps. Good luck
