Hey guys in this video we show you how we change the battery on these chevy Malibu’s! It’s a bit different than the traditional way of removing batteries because of all the extra electrical stuff these cars have!

Thanks guys! I opened the hood a freaked out. I watched your video and thought he’ll, I can pull this off! Went to Costco and picked up an Interstate battery for $189, brought it home, put it in, and was back on the road to Costco with the core in an hour after following the video step by step.
Oh, for the days when you could swap out a battery in 5 minutes!

Just wanted leave my thanks. Was halfway to work when the wife called saying battery was dead. Turned around, got it jumped, went to local auto parts store. They said they aren’t allowed to replace batteries on newer vehicles but can loan me all the tools needed free of charge. This was the first vid that popped up in the search results, and it’s perfect. Thank you.

Thank you for your video! This is the second time I'm going under the hood of an American car, and it's the same deal. I see things that make me wonder, couldn't they have done better and simpler? 😂 But I'm the handy friend, lol, I can't say no. At this point, I can't help but be thankful for the simplicity of Japanese cars. They keep things as simple as they can. I could've started taking stuff apart and been cocky about it, but that isn't how I roll. I could tell there were computers and stuff, so I didn't want to mess up. Thank you for confirming that it is just overcomplicating things for no reason.

Same…. Nowadays these vehicles aren’t anything like I remember.
I saved $110.00 in labor cost alone, at the local mechanic shop. Including the battery he was asking $389.00. I said NOPE! ,…I’m not a sucker.
You're a lifesaver! After three people, one hour and multiple curse words, I was finally able to install the new battery. 😵💫 This design should be illegal.

I particularly like how you show all the steps for *both* the removal of the old battery *and* installation of the new one. Follow this guide all the way through and you won’t miss a step, or have pieces left over that don’t seem to have a home!

Thank you, very informative and clear instructions.. New tech have to much BS on it, give me a 80s car anytime on my 78 corolla I used one plier, 3 sockets and 2 screwdrivers and dismantle almost all the car😂😂

hey thank you i left mine sitting for a while in garage due to COVID triple AAA came out twice jumped me and I asked around was informed the battery is 200 something plus to replace i can imagine what repair shops cost. I need to know the tools used to loosen the battery the bolts. i heard you say 8-13mm but when i go to the auto store what is the tool called i never had to buy one before and yes I am a female trying to do this on my own thank you. i cant really see what the tool looks like in ur video. your video otherwise is very helpful thank you so much!!!

What can be the problem when after installing. You don't have power.
A cable disconnected from somewhere
It may be a good idea to disconnect the ground from the battery in the trunk incase the two are not isolated.
Thanks for the video showing all the GM got yas on this poor design. Also, don't forget to install the front bolt cover piece.
My 2015 main battery was replaced but it now has been not starting, should the aux battery have been disconnected before replacing new main battery?

My 2015 that I bought new still has the factory battery. 3 years in south Texas and 5 in Georgia. It's still passes testing.

Great video. However, dont forget to mention how much f'ing plastic their is everywhere. And if its been a while you've changed your battery, better consider just breaking the plastic off.
Bruh I can't get the 13mm to twist its stuck. Also the fuse is stuck
Looks easy, but looks can be deceiving, so I ended up here.
I would rather take a 1/2 hr. To replace this battery than try to replace spark plugs, on a V6 Chevy engine or Ford for that matter
I own a 2015 Malibu and changing plugs is a breeze 15 mins tops

I would never buy this type of car again in my life. It gives so much problems! Difficult problems that always hand in hand with something else. Don’t recommend this car or even a Chevrolet CRUZE. Don’t do it!!!! Wish I would’ve known. I have had mine for 4 years and have invested so much on it, when I also got screwed in the dealership on the retail price. My daughter bought a CRUZE & she’s invested on it so much as well.
My wife had this car for 5 years before we met. Only took it to the dealership for work. When we got together, the next 5 years were nothing but problems including needing a new transmission at 140k miles! And it's a sealed transmission so they had to do a ton of extra work to install it. I replaced the serpentine belt myself and had to remove the passenger tire. Now this bullxrap work just for a battery. I told her the next car I'm inspecting it first. She bought this malibu way before we met. It's a piece of crap. N
What a pain in the ass to remove a battery. Give me an old style battery on top, remove the cables and your done! Piece of junk!
