Thank you this worked on my 2015 Impala. Fans stayed on when engine off and ac did not work. After the change I had to reset so the check engine goes off. Thank you!
Great video. I managed to replace my sensor in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue, so I'm not sure what to do now. Having a mechanic check the wiring is going to cost way more than the $15 sensor I just replaced.

@@DCAutoEnhancement You're welcome. I just watched this video lastnight but I'll get it fixed over the weekend. Lol the engine light doesn't come on the guage just doesn't move.. but when the guage moves to its normal position that's when the AC works again.
Thank you for this video today my temperature gauge was not working, stayed at the C all the way to work and I noticed when I got there. No check engine light or nothing then when I'm driving home it miraculously starts reading the temperature again. I guess it's time to replace that lol
Thanks for the video. I’m attempting to change the ECT sensor on a 2016 Chevy Colorado with the 2.5L L4 engine, but on mine it is between the back of the engine and the firewall and the hood shroud under the windshield comes out and over the rear of the engine. I know where it is and what to do but I wasn’t sure if the C-clip had to come all the way off or if it was the kind that stays attached. I’ve got my answer and this will help immensely. Thank you!
@@DCAutoEnhancement the only video I’ve found on my model of engine the guy records his video in vertical, moves the camera too much, and his hand are constantly in the way. Right now I’m having a disagreement with a mechanic at work who says my car should have two temp sensors, but I’ve only found one, front of the engine the right of the exhaust manifold, and far left of the thermostat housing. All that’s beside the point I’m getting at. I’m getting an alert that says “Engine temp too high, turning off A/C”, no check engine light, but the instrument cluster not showing temperature, either through the mechanical gauge or the digital DIC. Additionally the cooling fans run for 5 to ten minutes after the car has shut off.
I looked back at the video, it looks like you just have to push down on the gray tab closest to you and pull. Sometimes it helps to push the tab and push the connector toward the sensor then back toward you.
It looks like it's threaded into the thermostat housing that the top radiator hose goes to behind the water pump. I found a very basic diagram at gmpartsdirect.com other than that info, I can't tell you much more, I haven't done one on that engine. Good luck.

I tried to verify the number of sensors. Someone in the comments mentioned there were two sensors. One on the upper hose and one on the lower. I couldn't verify the accuracy of that comment though. I'll keep looking and I will comment here if I find that out for sure
My AC started working again and was getting a temperature reading again… so the sensor was the issue. But I can’t get the thing to tighten. Even bought a new retainer.

I believe I found the lower one, I'm holding out hope that the coolant temp in the video that I replaced was the issue.
