    I've a Leica TL2 that has as the same sensor as the CL, I can confirm each single word with the Vario-Elmar-T 18-56 F3.5-5.6 mentioned in this video.
    Leica Super-Vario-Elmar-TL 11-23mm f/3.5-4.5 ASPH is absolutely faster than the 18-56, but image is less sharp and anytime it could be short in lenght.
    So I agree with you that the best compromise for a "single zoom lens" is the Elmar-T 18-56 for this system.

    I have this lens with a Leica T type 701, and absolutely love it. I'm searching although a fast prime to complete the setup, and I'm thinking about the Sigma 30mm or the 23mm f1.4. Any suggestions? 😊

    • @PetrGardianTV
      @PetrGardianTV  8 месяцев назад +2

      The 23mm f1.4 sits right in the middle of the zoom range and its FOV is more versatile than 30mm. I'm now using the 23mm f2 Summicron all the time and love it but it's a pricier option.

    I got a TL2 and i am looking for Vario-Elmar-TL 18-56 or Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN any advice? Your work is fantastic!!!

      Currently, you can get the Leica lens used for the price of new Sigma. That is a great offering as I quite like the Leica lens output (and it's slightly more compact than the Sigma). BUT it's hard to say no to the constant 2.8 aperture of the Sigma lens. I have not tested them side by side, yet, but on paper I am leaning towards the Sigma. And at the same time I'm taking the Leica lens for holiday next week, lol. Hope this helped, thank you for your kind words!

      @@PetrGardianTV Thank you much that what is what i am also thinking, the lace lens output is different and better than the sigma. I think i will go with the Leica sense since is in the same price range used.

    You should try the Sigma 56 1.4 on your CL

      I just got these lenses, and later I'm hoping to get the 90mm and Kaesemann CP filter, too. All 55mm-threaded. All sub-300g.

      @@michaellee1500 I agree with you. I like the CL and TL-lenses overall, but the 18-56mm just didn't speak to me and is the one lens I ended up selling. I like the new Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens better. At an equivalent aperture of f4 you can throw the background nicely out of focus on the long end, which can be very nice at times, and you can work with lower ISO settings. I have the TL 18mm f2.8, 23mm f2, 35mm f1.4mm and the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. The 35mm f1.4mm is the best lens out of the 3, but I like the 18 and 23mm for their light weight and compactness which make them great walk-around lenses. If you enjoy manual focus, the Voigtlander Nokton and Apo Lanthar M-mount lenses are also great companions for this camera and quite inexpensive on the second hand market. For manual focus, I like the Voigtlander Nokton VM 35mm f1.2 best, it just creates awesome images on the CL! I haven't tried the Apo Lanthars on the CL, but I have on Sony E-mount and they absolutely rock.

      Do you mean if CL has M mode? - Yes, it does, so shooting in Manual is possible.
