The part at 3:40 - The worst word of 2022, definitely the word nuanced. I bet you have used that at least 1 time this year, and I bet you have heard it weekly all year long. People use it to sound smart, and overuse it daily.
That Leica "look" probably comes from the lens. Low element count means microcontrast is higher, giving images more of a "3-D" look. This is in sharp contrast (no pun intended) to modern glass from Sony, Tamron, Sigma, etc. which have lots of elements and low microcontrast (but higher sharpness). This is the definition of the "leica-pop," "zeiss-pop," etc. terms that lots of photographers say - what they're really talking about is the microcontrast, which makes images more life-like. It's also why vintage lenses have a "look" - most of them are simpler designs with fewer elements.
My first job straight out of college was with Leica, creating CAD drawings of their incredible lenses. This was pre-digital and in the early days of computer-aided design. Sadly, even with my staff discount, a Leica camera was beyond affordable on a $14k/year salary. I did snag myself a Leica slide projector that I own to this day.
definitely love the vintage lens look. I find they capture the atmosphere better. I also prefer film and actually would love to own a leica film camera with vintage glass, but even those are completely out of budget.
You summed it up at the end, Pete, when you said "I'm excited." Done deal right there. Doesn't matter if it's a $500 camera or a $5000 camera, if it's working for you and it's making you excited to shoot, that's a good camera to have. It's also the reason I own a Q2 also!
I shoot with Sony, but for all the same reasons Pete likes the Leica, is also why I love my Fuji x100v too. Fixed focal length makes it more challenging for sure. But also great to travel with.
@@aaronremphoto if you don't care much about the video features you can pick up and x100t or x100f for a lot cheaper. I was able to get an x100t for $400 a couple years back and has slowly become my favorite camera I ever have used.
I love Pete's "vibe" in 2022. It's very child like and explorative. Watching him like this excites me to want to be even more curious and try even more new things or old things in new ways
Been a couple months since I have gotten to watch your videos because Iv been quite busy. It was nice sitting and watching! Always a good time. Be blessed Pete
Its quite rare that a non-emotional video brings tears to my eyes...but the sheer beauty, brilliance, cinematography and background score...GOD OH GOD! I'm speechless...Thanks McKinnon for Existing!!!

@@MarioDarnadi $5K for a near point and shoot cam... a bit steep.... and $100K/year.... isn't much.... after taxes its little more than $5-6K a month.... so blow 1 months salary for a camera... yeah great idea. The Sony RX1 series cams are half the price and even that seems ridiculous to me. If you want fixed focal length.... you can grab a Canon RP and a 35mm or even 16mm for 1/5th the price.... stick on that one lens and run around. Obviously, you aren't going to get that Leica look.... but with so many different instagramish filters out there... you can come pretty damn close.
@@TheRealK6 well its all relative, If its just for hobby then sure it may sound like too much money to some, but you can repay some of the cost by doing some gigs on the side.
When I was just starting out I used to bring my a6000 with a prime lens everywhere I went. As I got into doing more professional work, my gear got bigger and bigger. And I took them to less and less personal trips. This year I picked up the sony a7c for somewhat of a similar reason as you. Grabbed a prime 35mm that’s compact and Yeah. There’s definitely something inspiring about simplifying your setup.
I use it with an A7iii but that 35mm 1.8 prime is probably my most used lens, simply because of it's compact size. I almost always bring that combo with me in a small bag, love it.
I've had that same experience... I had an NEX-7 that I took everywhere and eventually moved into larger bodies, ended up with a Sony a7R III and a kit of lenses, and then I was back into shooting landscapes again and bringing a tripod everywhere. Just this year, I am leaning more into black and white architectural and abstract stuff, sold the a7R III, I just shoot the Fuji X-T4 and vintage primes now. It's nice to have a kit that's so light.
I jumped on the fixed 28 lifestyle about 2 years ago. I can never go back, it widened my perspective in every way. Once you get the hang of composing more, turning clutter into context, it makes storytelling so much more poignant. It's not far off a 24 in use, but just has a little less dramatic curving distortion. It does everything. Except maybe moonshots.
I've always thought there's something special about fixed focal length cameras. It forces you to alter your own perspective, not the camera's perspective. If you want something easy to use, don't get one. But if you want to push your own visual boundaries, get one focal length.
Those of us who began our photography as kids in the 1960s began with fixed lens cameras like Kodaks, and Halinas - bought for a few pocket-money pounds, and pushed them to their practical limits, home-processing the Kodak or Ilford film we pushed through them, and printing from the negs on Gnome enlargers in blacked-out boxrooms or bathrooms, with dishes sitting on hot water bottles, etc., etc. THAT was the way to learn photography. Everyone is SO spoilt now, with their multi-lens camera-phones - and interchangeable digital cameras. So, yes, the enforced discipline of working with a fixed lens camera is what we all did decades ago. Because as kids, we couldn't afford to do anything else. Good training for lifelong shooting..!
Im sorry, but seeing the tats on your hands/fingers adjusting the dials on the camera is the gnarliest thing for me. Also, its fricken unreal to watch you STILL open new doors for yourself especially at this point in your career, hats off to you mate. Keep on keepin on.
This is absolutely awesome. Last friday i got my first pro camera, i've been doing photography since i was 11, i'm thirteen, halfway to fourteen now. Just had an hour biking photoshoot session in the countryroads with my brand new camera. Few weeks ago wrote a long instagram post about value of memories and life, with a photo of my favorite cousin's shoes in it, and in my favorite place on earth. After all that, i got to see this :). I just don't know man, Life is good :)
Man that's awesome you have that attitude at 13. Enjoy your last years of youth man, life gets more complicated as you get older and starts passing by unimaginably fast. And try and learn as many new things as you can, it's much easier to absorb it at your age.
Peter, I’m 67 and I still love trying new things and new cameras , I had a Q1 , sold it , missed it so so much I got the Q2 last year , man it’s good to be back , welcome to the Leica Q2 family 👊👊 I’m itching to see how much your photography changes and what you can bring to your style with this wonderful camera , have fun dude 👊👊
This is the exact way I feel about my Fuji XT4. It’s pushing me to see things differently. I got it with a 16mm f1.4. And I never use wide lens so it’s been interesting, challenging and exciting!
I have that lens (incredible) on the X-H1. I will be forever thankful to Fuji for messing up the release of the X-T3 causing the prices of the X-H1 to plummet to astonishing low prices!!! Snapped two!
I was looking at the Q2 which is a fantastic camera, but then discovered the incredible world of Fujifilm and more importantly the X-T4 and its wonderful selection of dials! For half the price of a Q2 I can have a beautifully tactile camera with a range of prime lenses. Fuji film simulations are another reason to choose them... After 25 years of Nikon, I've moved over to the Fuji side!
My go-to kit right now is the X-T4 and the Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40mm f/1.4 (about $400 new), which is a Leica M mount, so you need something like the Fotodiox Leica M to Fuji X adapter (about $50). Fixed focal length and manual everything is a completely different experience from today's typical "point and press the button" style. I'm currently awaiting my Canon FD to Fuji X adapter so I can shoot this vintage Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 (can be found on eBay for about $100). You can definitely have a new shooting experience without spending $6k.
I've had a similar event myself. I have been running camera gear for 15+ years...then earlier I got to test drive a Fujifilm 100S for a couple of days. It was a surreal experience. Different system, different format. Very challenging and rewarding. As an artist, you do need to get out of your comfort zone once in a while. See the world through a different lens. It's good for you!
Beautiful camera I have the monochrome version. To be honest I started to get board with photography and i feel that the Q2 re-energized my love for taking photos i never leave home without it.
Thank you. This has been an especially hard winter/spring in Toronto - lifeless and empty - this year. I have a basic Q2 and a Q2Mono. For the first time since Xmas, I feel like just going somewhere I haven't been and shooting.
Nice, I like that camera so much. Wish you guys a lot of fun with it. Leica nailed it with this one. When you are sick of too perfect cameras with tons of featues, you just take a q into your hands and feel some sort of peace :)
the intro clips tho 😩🔥 Peter istg you are my GOD like it gives me goosebumps just looking at your videos. You inspire me appriciate quality videography and photography. I will always have respect for you. You have craved your name on my heart. Thank you thank you.
it reminds me of the feeling i got when I bought my Fuji x100f. The fixed lens and the manual dials just makes for an amazing photography experience. It takes you back to the basics and challenges your photography skills creatively.
Agreed I loved my X100 series the F being the last I enjoy the challenge and freedom of a fixed lens camera, I just gave it to my old dad he's loving it.
Whilst my X-Pro2 does not have a fixed lens, I only have the 35mm f1.4 so it's as good as one. I love how this single focal length forces me to try new angles, distances, compositions and recipes. One camera really can do it all depending on your expectations and desire to work at it.
I've owned the Q2 for about 6 months. I love this camera so much and it's hard to explain why I leave the R5 and R6 at home and always grab this thing. Totally agree with "the vibe."
The more you pay for a camera, the better the images look to you. I’ve owned Leicas and Hasselblads, but images hanging on the wall were indistinguishable from my Nikons or Mamiyas. Never stopped me from trying to buy talent, though. The magic dust isn’t in the camera.
@@dani_da_vision Maybe they just want a good 28mm lens really. There isn't a single full frame 28mm lens worth mentioning in the mirrorless market right now. It's a forgotten focal length for some weird reason. A million 35mms, half a million 24mms, and not a single good 28mm.
I'm shooting a Q for a couple of years. Before acquisition I kept talking myself out of it. I felt I wasn't good enough to shoot Leica. I took the plunge and initially I didn't gel with the camera. I'm now convinced it's the best camera I owned. I'm hanging in for the Q3 now. Till then this is my go to camera.
I’m from Italy and I use Leica cameras professionally (SL2 and SL2-S). I’ve always wondered when you’d start using Leicas. It’s finally time! Great choice Pete.
@@the7thobserver700 I’m pretty sure Leica doesn’t do this crap. In fact, when other brands announce a new camera, I suddenly get lots of “first-look” RUclips notifications all at once… this doesn’t happen with Leica and there are very little review videos in general. Plus the Q2 is not a new camera.
@@FrancescoSpace I’m pretty sure they does specially after the new Leica USA president who actually coming from Montblanc but if you happens to know x Leica ambassadors go ask them if they get free cameras from Leica like influencer do or not and you would know what I’m saying - nothing against the cameras for sure or lenses I’m a leica shooter myself for many years but it is what it is.
Nice. I’ve been shooting with Leica for 4 years. I shoot with an m10D and a 35mm summilux. I’ve got a 75 1.8 voigltlander too for portrait work. I love the Leica look but most of all I love the camera and it’s such a joy to shoot with. It makes me happy to use and that’s what is most important.
The one thing I can say about shooting Leica lens and sensor is it makes you feel like you are experiencing the environment, from urban concrete to spring flowers on rolling hills, I appreciate how you can talk about the crunchy organics of image making mixed with the tech info of the tools your using, I know I don’t know you like that, but your posts speak to me.
Getting that feeling, as a magician, as a human being of "getting fooled" is awe. That new sensation of awe is a time machine for your soul. 🙌 Great vid as always Peter
Got a Q2, used it a ton for six months, and just upgraded to the M11. These are nice camera’s I’m absolutely blown away by how nice it is to shoot with these things.
@@sellwithmanuel q2 easier focus but the m11 for patient focused shooting is the best camera. @@ChalrieD thats where I am torn.. I use my Q2 for family stuff but I also use it for more slowed down photography. I dont do it professionally but I really enjoy it. I might just keep the Q2... I just think the M11 is like a manual car... and I love manual cars lol
@@sellwithmanuel it's exactly like a manual car. Everything needs to be calibrated for every shot and it's really nice. But you need the time. Four year old running around negatively affects the ability to do it right. lol
Definitely the best and most enjoyable camera I ever used for photos. I do know though that I wouldn’t use it nearly enough to justify a purchase. The 100V is already a stretch.
"seeing things differently" - I don't think you could have said it any better. So simple and so true. there are a number of design / creative milestones in my life where that same approach played out. One such example - falling back in love with photography. It allowed me to see things differently.
I agree, I wish they would make a 50mm version, or even better something like a 43mm (which is closer to the human eye focal length). If they made one, I would sell everything and only shoot with that… maybe forever
I actually did the same thing recently. I used to be a professional photographer, so when I moved on I sold most of my gear but I kept one body and a few workhorse lens. I finally decided to sell all that and moved to a Sony A7C with one 28mm lens. When I'm in the mood to shoot and feeling creative, I love the challenge of making it work with what I have. Plus the size and lightness is nice to have.
My life changed, no hyperbole here, when I began shooting with the Leica Q2 Monochrom. I shot only Nikon for 20yrs until I purchased the Q2M. I feel like an artist rather than a photography enthusiast with the Q2M. Further, I shoot with it more because it is light and smaller than my D850.
Love these shots! I shoot Fuji and have been looking at the 100v for the same reasons. I feel like the fixed focal length is slowly becoming a trend for photographers to fall in love with photographing again. There are plenty of cameras that can out perform, but these experience with cameras like this take it to a whole other level that reminds us why we love it so much.
I bought the Q2 Monochrom about six months ago. There is something about that look. Love the camera and I take it everywhere I go. I still shoot my Sony with the g-master lenses, but the Q2 has such nice IQ. I sold my Fuji x100v.
Cool! I feel like we all have to do "leica" at some point in our photography journey. Even if we don't stick with the brand it's a growth thing. Thanks for taking us along.
Bit the bullet on my own Q2 last year and never looked back. Between the cropping and being able to bring it EVERYWHERE has changed the way I look at photography forever.
Welcome to the Leica family! I had the same sentiment when i bought one on impulse a few Months back and i never had an ounce of buyers remorse. It’s made me fall back in love with photography as an art vs a means to make $$ or to become insta famous. It’s just such an enjoyable camera to use, and the content on My page has changed since i bought it. Love this little machine
The thing is... all of these photos have been heavily edited with your signature style, so I really don't get the "Leica look" talk. Would love to see A/B comparison with Canon with equivalent settings (though I don't they'd want you doing that). In any case, the intro footage and pics are amazing.
@@andrewprasanna9323 Jpegs dont come like that from any camera to my knowledge unless your using fujis recipes and adjusting the colors and s curve beforehand.
I love my FujiX100 V. Just shot an event tonight and just reviewed the pics. Man, got a lot of keepers! The great thing is I blended in with the guests and got a lot of candids.
Welcome to the Leica Q family! I got one to help my Canons in weddings and found myself use it everywhere, it's incredibly sharp (but not too sharp) the formfactor is amazing. Try the B/W mode JPG Peter! It's amazing!
Definitely worth trying out a smaller camera. I shoot on my Canon R6 most of the time but recently I have picked up a Fuji X100F. The fixed lens and the size really allow for so much creativity 🙏🏽
I noticed the new "Look" on Instagram lately and I'm in love with it. Great to see you trying new equipment or even just functioning a little outside your comfort zone. It's inspiring me to do the same! and that's what you are for me, an utter inspiration!
ive sort of lost my love for photography because schools really been weighing me down. i watched this video in a study break and now im feeling really inspired to g out and shoot stuff, thanks to that intro. Thanks peter.
Only using one focal length is a game changer. Sold all of my lenses a few years back and just used a 50mm prime, cant tell you how much it helped my work. Now I own a 35mm and a 50mm, but I only ever take one out with me, just slows you down, makes you think, create something with more purpose
I have a bunch of cameras but honestly my Q1 is the most worn, used and abused. The black paint is coming off and each cm of patina has a story to it. Shooting with a Leica is about the experience using one, not the photo itself. Its weird but those who use them will understand.
LOL. The sought-after patina and brassing is from black paint Leica cameras with brass bodies/plates & lenses. Not your Q. You're cosmetically wearing down your non-brass digital Leica to silver alloy and it will eventually brick electronically.
I have a Q2 and I love it so much - also the line about how our cameras are a tool is too true - they are tools no matter what brand you go with - I honestly prefer Leica because it works for me, but I think Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic all have options that are very usable for anyone.
Why does the Leica work for you more than the other companies? What does the Q2 do that the other companies don't? It can't be ergonomics because the Q2 is literally a rectangle with a lack of buttons to make doing things more efficient. The screen doesn't tilt, so it's more difficult and uncomfortable to get low or high shots. They went with a weird focal length that is not great for up close portraits, the 45mp sensor isn't any more or less sharper than other brands 40+ mp sensors. I'm legitimately wondering what makes the Q2, which is an $8500 Canadian camera worth that price even remotely. And please don't say "there is something about the Leica".
@@RiposteThis the answer is simple : people pay for the brand. They pay for that red dot. They pay for being in an "exclusive" club. Most wont admit that this is the case, so they will simply repeat : "there is something about leica" ..lol
Welcome to the Leica rabbit hole! I went down it myself earlier this year after shooting Canon for many years. I still have my R5 and I love it but I also picked up a Leica M10 (used for a very decent price) and its by and far my favorite camera. It's all manual focus but I honestly don't miss the autofocus at all. Eventually look into getting an M rangefinder and you can get all the different focal lengths you'd like.
I really love the look produced Leica's early CCD sensors made by Kodak - so weirdly my grail camera remains the M8 but this one looks like a beautiful instrument.
Almost a year since a release of this video and boy it’s my all time favorite PM video. So inspirative that it changed my photography quite a bit. Love it!
I officially love Peter. Vibe is the bane of my existence and the way dislikes the word makes me love him that little bit more. Love the dialog and the content completely. Hoping he continues this new passionate journey. Cheers mate!
I also use Canon gear for all my pro work, but I use a Leica M10 or CL for my own personal photos and enjoyment. Totally get what you mean! They make super inspiring cameras to use, and the lenses are just superb. I also agree on the 28mm though. If they made a 35mm or 50mm Q2, I would pawn my car tomorrow, haha!
I started with an X1, and it still blows me away for a compact. For traveling it is so easy. Do you use the CL for video much ? Strange, Leica pulled the plug on it. Pics I have seen from M10 are amazing though.
@@marcellalonde2793 X1 is great! A friend of mine had that, image quality is awesome. I don't think I have ever tried the video on my CL :-) I'm sure it looks great, but without stabilisation you would need a tripod or stabilised lens of some sort. The still image quality is absolutely stunning though. Remarkably similar to M10, actually!
After using almost every Leica camera they have to offer I have come to a conclusion: there is no "Leica look".(but they certainly pay well for "cooperate"😉)
Don’t care much about any “look” but the user interface and build quality of my SL2 is unmatched. And that’s why I shoot Leica. But I must say their lenses are priced in the upper atmosphere.
@@HC_617 yea I know bro. When I first got the SL2 I could only afford one lens. The 75mm SL APO. And after $10K of trade in. Picked up a slightly used Q-P. I think he was a hoarder who just collects Leica stuff. So saved a bit on that one. Took out a business loan for the 90-280. Lol that lens is a bazooka. But IQ is incredible. I feel like ground forces in the Army when I use that thing. Also have the 24-90, again slightly used and saved some dough. Still have lent in my pockets. Leica will leave you bone dry. But I’m happy as hell with the results.
So glad a few of you are addressing the “Leica look” bs. Once you start editing & applying filters there is no such characterization. A more realistic statement is how Leica cameras inspire you to go shoot. Needless to say great video Peter & love the beautiful photos!
Darn it dude you've got sucked into the Leica Like I did, for a while. I had the same experience but I realised that my heart and vision for the craft isnt actually in my gear but with me myself and I. When youve reached to the Leica youve hit that Midlife gear crisis :-) What you've just said was almost the same words I echo'd to my small community :-)
im incredibly happy for you to revive that youthful feeling of rediscovering the joy of simply taking photos. Question, though> is that feeling catalyzed by simply having new gear? or is it THIS SPECIFIC gear that does it for you? Like, if you snagged a Fuji X100V, do you think the same feeling could surface?
It’s the Q. I’ve had the original Q and now the Q2 so they’re not new and it still feels special every time. It so easy to take pictures without the faffing around. Or as Hugh Brownstone would say, less futzing around.
I have an x100v and have been shooting with it for around 8 months. Previously I was shooting daily photography with an olympus stylus epic, a small 35mm point and shoot film camera from the 90's that i absolutely love. I saw the x100v and figured it was a heavier, full manual, digital version of my Stylus Epic. It still fits in my side bag, has a fixed 35mm focal length, and a full frame equivalent f2.8 depth of field. Almost a year later and I am in love with the camera, it brings around 80% of what I love about film (mainly colour) and gives me all the benefits and convenience of digital photography. It is the most fun i've had shooting in years.
The r7/r10 came out and I was anticipating your review…but instead you switched cameras the next day. I can read between the lines, Peter, but I sorta hope I’m reading it wrong.
@@damienlobb85 I shoot a lot with the R6, 4k60p it does give overheating warning but I never had it overheat. I wouldn't trade it to anything though as the AF and the quality of video you can get with it is next to nothing, You can literally take out a frame and its immediately a picture. R7 is a great backup for R6, but if anything its APS-C, its like having a gh5 with perfect autofocus.
I got my Q2 last year and I love it,I rented everything I was interested in. When I got to the Q2 I was home. I’m no newbie was shooting a Minolta SRT-101 in the film days, in recent years I have shot with Fuji, Nikon ,Olympus and Canon. I don’t shoot professionally any more, I love the limitations of the fixed lens and the photos are amazing. I don’t understand the why are these photos better I don’t have answer, but it is fun. The menus are tiny, the Q2 leaves the fun and creativity in the process. If you still need perfection that is what photoshop is for.
Leica’s too expensive for me, lens quality on those are insane though! I have the fuji x100f and like you said inspires me in ways I haven’t been before.
Fell in love with Leica a couple years back with a pre-owned SL and an M6 for film. I've used Sony, Canon, RED, etc. for work for several years now. But when it comes to photos that are for ME, and not for clients/companies, I reach for my Leicas. No other cameras have connected me to the world around me like they have. Enjoy it!
The 28 almost feels like a 24 as it's corrected in camera too. i prefer the sony rx1r ii with its fantastic zeiss 35mm. If you want similar image quality, even smaller for the pocket, give it a try.
The incredible thing about Leica is that when I picked one up and played with it at a store it felt immediately like a part of my body. The feel, weight and look of the thing is so unlike any camera I’ve ever used, like night and day. I cupped the thing like a new born baby with all buttons, and switches easily accessed and I was home. The photographic excellence of the Q/Q2 and lens in particular is well documented, but the ergonomics and wellness factor it brings is so underrated it’s worth buying it just as a bookshelf therapeutic tool, and perhaps take snaps with it on days when you’re feeling adventurous 😂
Leica Q2 Reporter pre-order or out of stock everywhere currently.. Peter McKinnon "decides" to buy a camera on a whim...walks into shop and "randomly" buy's one...yeah.. cool "story"..

Shooting Canon for years I bought a Q2 a few months back. It is incredible. The take everywhere no fuss no hassles camera. I love it.
Today I learned. I had a phase of experimenting with vintage lenses and that makes sense!
My first job straight out of college was with Leica, creating CAD drawings of their incredible lenses. This was pre-digital and in the early days of computer-aided design. That’s awesome! It’s pretty fun! I find myself shooting all sorts of weird stuff I haven’t done in years
Been a couple months since I have gotten to watch your videos because Iv been quite busy. It was nice sitting and watching! Always a good time. Be blessed Pete

Dude, this camera is beyond my 100k/year salary!
@@jibba0202 I haven’t actually check the price yet.

The best photos I've ever seen with this camera. Thank you for showing us.
I started with the A6000 also, though i move to the A7iii, almost always rocking the 85 1.8
I've had that same experience...
@Don't read profile photo sure,i wont
Get a prime lens

At a fraction of the Leica price.
Yep. I got a 23mm 7Artisans for my X-t10 and am trying to use it exclusively for anything but the most challenging shots.
I was fortunate to switch to Leica back in 2015 and haven't looked back. Congrats on the Q2! It's a fantastic camera.

I've had a similar event myself. I have been running camera gear for 15+ years...then earlier I got to test drive a Fujifilm 100S for a couple of days. It was a surreal experience. it reminds me of the feeling i got when I bought my Fuji x100f.
@@findermanimages I use plenty of different lenses in the day job, but more and more on my own time a fixed lens is my preference.

Did you do it? :P Q3 43
Dude these are some of your best shots. This camera is dope.
The mastering of the shallow depth of field over those 17 years has been unmatched 👏
Welcome to the Leica family! I had the same sentiment when i bought one on impulse a few Months back and i never had an ounce of buyers remorse. It’s made me fall back in love with photography as an art vs a means to make $$ or to become insta famous. Only using one focal length is a game changer. Sold all of my lenses a few years back and just used a 50mm prime, cant tell you how much it helped my work. Now I own a 35mm and a 50mm, but I only ever take one out with me, just slows you down, makes you think, create something with more purpose

I did the same and continued on to Leica with the Q2 10 months ago. Still love my Nikon FE2, Fuji X-T4 and X100T!
Oh yeah this can’t be more true Fuji and Leica are so different to the other cameras basically I use Ricoh‘s leicas and Fujis for everything I do

I have a bunch of cameras but honestly my Q1 is the most worn, used and abused. The black paint is coming off and each cm of patina has a story to it. Shooting with a Leica is about the experience using one, not the photo itself. Its weird but those who use them will understand.
Same here haha
LOL. The sought-after patina and brassing is from black paint Leica cameras with brass bodies/plates & lenses. Not your Q. You're cosmetically wearing down your non-brass digital Leica to silver alloy and it will eventually brick electronically.

I'm obsessed with the b roll and narrative of this video, you killed it Peter!
I never thought about a Leica Q2. I watched your post, teste drive a Q2, LOVED IT, and pulled the trigger. That camera is a league in itself 😍

Great video as usual. I love the Leica Q2 Monochrome. What a special camera that is.
I really love the look produced Leica's early CCD sensors made by Kodak - so weirdly my grail camera remains the M8 but this one looks like a beautiful instrument.

The still image quality is absolutely stunning though. Remarkably similar to M10, actually!
its been 2 months i used q2, carried with my a7iii 85 f1.4 sigma for long holiday. For everyday, q2 is my daily. Love it.
Upper atmosphere? More like space. I sold all my Sony and fuji stuff, because they are so expensive I only have a m10 with a 50 lux, and a Q2
@@HC_617 yea I know bro. When I first got the SL2 I could only afford one lens. The 75mm SL APO. And after $10K of trade in. Picked up a slightly used Q-P.
If you want the same feeling on a budget... I would rather go toward older film camera.

Leica definitely has a magic look to it... It's all in their glass. The lenses are top notch.
We gotta keep that RX1R II a secret bro lol. Supreme camera and images it produces.
Does anyone else think Pete is coming dangerously close to falling down the film photography rabbit hole? (Personally, I hope so)
It crossed my mind and I hope so too.
Welcome to the Q life Peter ☺️
I'm excited for you, and the photos you get from it!
Last
It those Leica colors my guy! It definitely give off those "vibes!"
Leica Q2 Reporter pre-order or out of stock everywhere currently.. Peter McKinnon "decides" to buy a camera on a whim...walks into shop and "randomly" buy's one...yeah.. cool "story"..
I shoot mainly with Sony full frame but I also have the Fuji X100V. Everytime I take that camera out I have a smile on my face and I am again that little boy whose father has let him loose with his first camera. I am now over 65.
I came here to learn how to trade after listening to a guy on radio talk about the importance of investing and how he made $460,000 in 4 months from $160k. Somehow this video has helped shed more light on some things, but I'm confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas
Most people today have been having a lot of failures in investing because of poor orientation and bad experts.
I will recommend Expert Mrs Pamela Kay weaver to anyone who wishes to invest in forex/crypto trading, her strategy is working for me. I'm making good profits from bitcoin trading
