I rescued four two week old kittens when a stray mum gave birth on my back patio.
They all had the cat flu.
I took them to the vet, (the vet said they were two weeks old) got a range of medications, mother's simulated milk formula and 4 kitten bottles.
They wouldn't dtink out of the bottle so I putchased 4 syringes from the pharmacy.
They needed to be fed 10mls of milk every 2 hours round the clock.
When feeding with a syringe, I slowly dripped the milk into their mouths so they wouldn't choke.
I had to keep them in a small pet enclosure away from my older cat, that I set ip in the hallway.
When they started to go to the toilet they had a dustpan for their litter tray.
With a lot of tlc and vet treatment they all survived, and will be 7 this year.
One little fellow has part of his eye permanently closed - as result of him having the cat flu.
Every now and again his eye leaks clear fluid that I gently wipe with a soft, warm cotton pad.
I eventually tamed the mother who also became part of our feline family.
They have a large enclosure at the back of my house where they can access the house at their leisure, and a huge cat gymnasium in my lounge room.
I let them do their own thing - if they want a cuddle, they will approach me, if they don't want to cuddle, that's ok to.

I adopted a senior 8 yr old healthy cat from my local shelter. She's well-mannered and (I can tell) grateful for the safe, loving home that I wanted her to enjoy. Now 14, she's serene while sleeping by me, and will scoot zoomies when in the mood.

@@richardarroyo3029 - I've never hears it referred to as "scooting" zoomies, but the "zoomies" are when a kitty (I've heard of dogs doing it, too, but I've never seen it) gets all rambunctious and full of energy and "zooms" from one end of the home to another at full tilt - One might almost wonder if Kitty were possessed!😹It's absolutely adorable to watch😻😻

I got my 8 year old boy 2 years ago.
He RARELY meows. He silent purrs.
He's afraid of men and strangers.
He wakes me up if he's thirsty or hungry.
He's a good litter box user.
He hides under the bed for mostly the whole day.

I got a cat for my birthday last year and he's my life. Felix sleeps by me every night, he went missing for a few days and when he came back I could see he absolutely missed me. He loves to play and bite my legs.

Thank you for this lovely post. I’m glad to know that my cats are happy. They are rescues and the female has not decided to sit on my lap yet, but she loves pats. I will leave it to her to decide when she ready to cuddle. They do give me slow blinks and head bumps and rubbing against my legs with their tails in the air. Their appetites are good, they love playtime with me and sleep deeply in the afternoon, often on top of the old hutch where they can survey their domain. It is the one place where they will sleep close to each other. I never think of myself as needing a support animal, but I feel so delighted to share my home with them and I think Duke and Butterbean are like weed for my soul.❤😊

I rescued a 1 1/2 to 2 week kitten according to all the videos I watched. Poor thing was in bad shape. I gave kitten milk supplement every two hours and after a couple of weeks was sure she would live. She lays at my chest and purrs and sleeps, stays by me all the time, bathroom, in bed, etc. But she also bites and tears at my arms, legs and hands and face. She never extends her claws, but the biting is very painful. I don't know if she loves or hates me. I have never had a kitten before and have done everything suggested. Kitten toys, water running device, all sorts of litter, special blankets, I have spent $100's trying to do what is right for her. Vet appointment is coming up. I am on a fixed income. I just don't know what else I can do.

Awwwww. I had a 4wk old very dehydrated and weak rescue and he was very touch and go for about 2 wks. We've had him now about 3-4 wks now. He loves snuggles and cuddles. Oddly he loves the bath 😂 when I'm in the bath he tries to jump in and when my husband is showering he does jump in .

Ours was very dehydrated and had parasites. He went to vet day after we got him then 2 days later. I wasn't feeding and watering him enough. You have to force feed them. I had to hold him and force the milk bottle nibble into his mouth. Gahhh I hated it but it worked

Have you tried saying "Ouch that hurts" in a tone that is firm, but not loud when she excessively bites.
Might need to repeat this, and over time she will understand.
      Cats are very intelligent.

@@Karen8ism Thanks for responding Karen. I did try that because I have always had a dog and works wonders with them. She is getting better. I now respond with a kitten whine and put her down when she does it. Seems to help!

Your cat sees you as another cat. When they bite, it's what they would do to another feline. You may consider getting another cat if you can afford to. Do the slow blink when you see the cat getting amped up and keep a favorite toy nearby for distraction. Good luck and blessings to you for caring enough to give the cat a loving home.

I have two cats, twin boys. Their mom was my daughters first cat ever Starbaby. I loved her so much she was a great cat! When her babies were about four weeks old she left and never came back! I tell myself she found a nicer quieter home. But now I refuse to let the boys outside. Too many wild animals where I live. I know they want to go outside but I want them to live to a ripe old age with us in our home. Today they are 13wks old so still pretty young but their mom was my first cat since I was a little girl and she was only a part of our lives for ten months. I said all of that to say this, your channel helps out a lot!! As a 40yr old whos only just now fallen in love with cats there's so much I just don't know yet. Thanks for all the help :)
