True... I have had cats for forty years and every one is an indivudual. I look at it this way, as long as they are near you, dont bite attack or run from you ....all is good..
Awww please don't think your cat dislikes you and be mean to or get rid of your kitty❤ every kitty has their own personality, just like humans. Some are more shy or rambunctious
Have 5 rescue cats. One of them a beautiful black long haired feline. She hates me so much she makes me laugh!! 😂I have had her for 9 years and buy her the best food. She just hates me! First time I have had a feral cat that never came around. It is ok. I look at her like a beautiful untouchable piece of art. I love her but she will hate me till the day she dies!! ❤🐈⬛
Agree! This is a terrible video, especially because most of these behaviors are things a cat will do AT TIMES when they are STRESSED. No human should assume their furry friend doesn't like them. They just need to get to the bottom of what is stressing kitty out.
To everyone who wants to develop a better bond with your cats, try regular play sessions; find a toy they really like and make them chase it. It's good exercise for your cat and they will grow closer to you.
My cat does love me. I know this because he absolutely hates it when I leave. He meows at the door (I still live with my parents because I am not ready to move out, yet). My parents try to calm him. They can for a bit, but continues to meow. I am the only person, who can calm him down. He is as happy as can be, when I am back. He also has to be by me all of the time. He has been this way ever since he was a kitten. He lies on top of me. He hates not being in the same room as me. I am his favorite human. He is definitely not independent. I spoiled the heck out of him, when he was a kitten, and I still do. I fell asleep in the living room, and Oliver stood guard. He watched my mom and was making sure she was not gonna hurt me (of course she won’t hurt me, she’s my mom, Oliver). My mom told me that Oliver stood guard over me while I was sleeping. Oliver hates getting his claws clipped. When I had my nails clipped, when I was younger, by my parents, Oliver would watch intently, to make sure I was not hurt. Cats do love. I hate it when people say cats don’t love you. Those people who say that, most likely have never had a cat before. Toxic Dog People, 🙄. Note: I am only talking to the dog people, who are toxic and mean, and criticize cats every chance they can get, I am not addressing all dog people. I have met some very nice dog people. I have some friends, who are dog people. Sorry for going off on a tangent, it just makes me angry when people make assumptions like that.
Shouting at them, hitting or kicking, forgetting to feed them food and water, not petting them, expecting them to be entertaining, yet you are a useless owner, and much more can be predictors of unhappy pets - not just cats. People need to understand that dogs and cats are furry 'children' that put their lives in your hands to love them, as much as your own child.
A cats scratches trees and posts to trim their own claws, you will see the top layer of the claw (outer claw casing) will fall away by scratching on something.
I am a cat woman. I love my 5 cats they get equal attention , and they sleep with me in my room . They are well trained and they have curfews. I called them my stress reliever .
I am a cat companion for 2 from my 3 cats for more than 6 years and I need a constant improvement. I love them and I am sure they love me cuz they show that every day. But some behaviours can not be explained by vets cuz they don't see physical distress only medical ones. So it's up to me to know my fur babys (they are 6 , two of them and 1 the latest) to understand them at least as deep as they understand me. Thank you for this video. I have 2 things I need to change now.
Litter box issues can also mean that there is a health problem with the cat as well like a UTI, there is so much miss information in this video and tail twitching doesn't mean that the cat hates you, also cats look at eye contact as a display of aggression not affection and love. If a cat truely trust and respect you they will lay down and roll over on to their back exposing their belly to you (this is not an invitation to scratch their bellies). Some of the behavior that was described in this video can be associated with health problems as well
I adopted my orange boy at 6 months from a converted garage. He was wild and hiding. They finally caught him and he was quiet all the way home. He has a great home here but always keeps enough distance where he can’t be touched. He hears a mail truck or UPS and is gone into the closet. He hasn’t been friendly to anyone, and barely good with me. He hasn’t changed much 3 years later. He’s in perfect health, has a large home here, but he seems to always be offended.
awww... he just wasn't socialized early enough (being handled by humans before weeks) so he's kind of feral at heart but still loves you... if you want him to get more comfortable around you, you can try leaving a trail of treats that lead to you and give him more when he gets closer without any attempt to touch him... do that for a while and he might become less hesitant to approach you
My boy was 6 yo when he came to live with me 2 years ago. He won't go in the living room if the TV is on. He tends to hide from ALL men. If then lawn service is mowing, he hides under the bed. If someone knocks, he hides. His love bites hurt. He tends to scratch me when angry. I thought he loved me. Now now I wonder 🤔.
@@itsjustme7487 Awwe, yes he loves you, he is just fearful of loud noise it seems 💗 Keep some treats handy for when he comes around and he'll associate good things with you!
@hollywoods703 He might not have been around humans early enough, before 8weeks, in which case they tend to be less interactive. Keep treats with you for when he comes around and that may help socialize him.
I'm going through the same thing with my cat. I adopted her from the SPCA. She was a feral cat who had a severely injured leg. Since she was so young, they decided not to euthanize her but just amputate the injured leg and felt that she would be the perfect lap cat. I've had her 12 years now, and she's never sat on my lap. She's not affectionate at all and is very easily scared of just about everything. To be honest, she's not a very nice cat at all. You can be gently petting her, and the next thing you know, she'll whip her head around and hiss at you and start swatting at you. It's next to impossible to put her in a carrier without being attacked. And don't even try to put flea medicine on her. We gave up trying. You would think that with her being so young when she was adopted that after all these years, she would have become relaxed and comfortable, but she never has. I don't understand it.
Ok, my indoor/outdoor cat hates me i guess. Funny, she just walked into my house one day and decided to eat and sleep whenever she wants. I am a motel with a buffet to her.
@MaxineAyala, Some cats can be indoor and outdoor. They can go outside and explore and catch mice/hunt, but they also have a place to live and they live indoors with you. This means they spend their time indoors and outdoors, if that makes any sense to you.
@@CatherineLee3000 are you slow? I never said I didn’t understand what I heard I’m saying it’s absolutely nasty to have an indoor outdoor cats is what I am saying if that makes sense to you
I adopted a 5 yr old rather obese orange female from a woman who was moving to an apartment where she couldn't keep a pet. The cat must have been upset by the separation, as we never really bonded. She had a trick of sneaking up behind, and twice gave me quite sharp bites in the calf of my leg. As I'd owned many cats previously, I knew that this action was not affection. If ever I put her on my lap, she would leave immediately. To my other cat she was a harmless sister, and I kept her until she died of kidney failure. She had lived in comfort with me, but was never affectionate.
Wow, this must've been unrewarding and kinda frustrating. Thank you for being a good human being, and giving that cat the comfort and peaceful home until its final days. You're a good soul
@@___Laura5 Aw, thanks! It wasn't possible to make my fat cat lose weight so she could live longer. My other pet at the time was a kitten who'd been left on a road in the dark, with a fractured thigh. She recovered with vet care, but retained some trauma fear and could never jump any higher than up to a sofa seat.
I found it harder to get across to my remodling company that I needed a break from workers on my property. Myall depends on cat was staying away from home for hours, and the strangers all over the place had him upset. Because the project managers were cat owners they understood and decided to give me about 10 days off. My cat resumed coming home to sleep. It all depends on understanding.
Sister of < this picture. My family started having cats when the youngest child was 7 or 8... Without thinking, every time we would pass one sleeping on a chair, or just watching us go by, we would speak, pet them or just acknowledge them , sometimes hug them ..all 6 ( up to 8) of them could just look while we passed by and know they were loved❤❤❤❤❤. They are family .....
I rescued a blind kitten and nursed him back to health from a severe lung infection. Now he bites me every chance he gets, but it is not just normal biting : he grinds down with his teeth and then rips up. He also does a lot of tail flicking when I try to pet him. I am at a loss about what to do with him.
Play with him a lot, use a wand toy or a string (but never leave it with him unsupervised) and give him chew toys. That way he will develop a bond with you. Try not to force affection on him, let him come to you and reward him when he does.
Maybe he has some mental issues, or has some trauma, or something. Use Google, go to the vet and see if they can figure it out, or recommend someone to you, ask a vet, or someone who knows about that stuff, etc. I hope this helps. If you have a friend, or any connection to a vet, ask them. Again, I hope this helps. Just spreading some ideas.
My cat has a hard time when daylight lessens. She recently started pacing back-&-forth along the bedroom window as if to demand, "Where is the sun? Where is the sun? . . ." She's getting over it, but she'll be disrupted when we set the clocks for DST. Cats definitely do not like change
Perhaps your cat sees another one somewhere out there beyond an area that you don't see, and it upsets your cat that there is another in its territory, hence the pacing..
My cat CryBaby went bonkers during the last eclipse. She was crying loudly and clawing at the door. I was afraid to let her out. Other than that I've never had any problems with my cats.
I've noticed that our cat will make a deliberate motion to jump on me, and then suddenly she's whipping her tail back and forth. When I ask her if she has a boo boo. She cakms down and looks at me as to say, thans. And yes, I have boo boos.
The cat that i adopted 13 months ago has never let me pet her. Lately she has been hiding in three bedroom by herself when the other cat and myself are in the living room. The two cats love each other so i dont know what is going on with the newer one.
