Your channel is incredible and I mean that personally you are a fantastic RUclipsr mary cherry ❤️🌹🌟
I'm naming my Future New-Born Offspring 'Helpy Helperton'
MARY'S FAVORITE PART WAS AT 12:43😏
Jim Carrey crawling out of a Rhino is the Mona Lisa of comedy.
Excellent way of putting that 😆
Ace Ventura walked 🦏 so the Brothers Grimsby could run 🐘
YESSIR!!
People were losing their minds in the theater. 🤣
Look kids it's giving birth!
The miracle of life ^_^
"Did you just refer to me as White Devil?"
"This how they know you."
My favorite line. lol
Well tell them I'm not.
😂😂😂
"Leave that part out!"
I always liked the line that i use to say to my girlfriend.
LIKE A GLOVEEEE!!!!
That opening scene is a direct shot for shot remake from the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. It’s funny how Ace mentions The Shawshank Redemption because Bob Gunton (Burton Quinn) is the warden in that movie. That rhino scene is one of the best moments in cinematic history
The next scene is also a nod to a Stallone movie (Rambo 3) which opens with Rambo hiding out in a monastery.
Bumblebee Tuna everyone!!
When I went to see this at the cinema with my aunt and cousins - I ended up with tears in my eyes and cramps in my stomach. Very, VERY happy day 😊
Bumblebee tuna!
lol same
"Flowers..... for me??? Well, I do declare Mr. Beauregard..." The amount of time I've quoted that 😅😅😅
Opening scene is a parody of "Cliffhanger" with Sylvester Stallone, Michael Rooker, and John Lithgow
I'd like to see a Cliffhanger reaction.
For a 10-year-old boy, this movie was Citizen Kane. I didn't realize how often I reference it to this day.
Citizen Kane. 😂
Kinda hot in these rhinos 😂
The rhino scene at the theater, I didn't know if I was laughing more at the movie or at the hilarious laughter of the rest of the audience 😂😂😂
🤡
22:20 The tall one is Bruce Spence, the Gyro Pilot from Mad Max 2. He's definitely an Aussie.
An absolute legend
as australian as they come
Except for this small technicality -- Born: Bruce Robert Spence, 17 September 1945 (age 78), Auckland, New Zealand. Nationality: New Zealander 😲
@@Ahzpayne nz is just australia with culture
Was also the Trainman in the Matrix and briefly the Black Lieutenant in Return of the King amongst other things
The racoon drop from the wire scene was a parody after Stallone's Cliffhanger, if you'd remember that, you'd find it funny too.😄
I'm not so sure I'd call it funny. Yes it's a parody, but it's still kinda heart wrenching to see.
@@AurochhunterNo. 🤡
Fuck yes. This is one of my favourite movies as a kid. I saw it for thr first time on TV without knowing it was a sequel and didn't see the first one until years later.
The chitty chitty bang bang bit was all Jim. His improv is top tier
"This is a lovely room of death."
I've had this quote jump into my head, too many times, while seeing someone's personal space the first time.
Fun fact, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song was totally unscripted. Jim did that off the cuff and the director loved it. You can see the other guy break character at the last second right before they come through the trees.
I was under the impression there were hundreds of lines in his movies that came about in similar ways :) he certainly seems the type
And when he did that the other guy trying not to laugh but after that he did and left in the movie and im glad they did. Ps in the top ten jim carry unscented in movie and it hit number 6 in it.
Lil pup mad he can't offer any facts 😂 @@mcn.97
I came here to say this lmao
Yeah it was unscripted because Jim forgot his line at that point and instead of just stopping he adlibbed that part.
Even today whenever i get into a hot car in the summer i always say. "Kinda warm in these rhinos..."
My favorite part was his fight with the little guy, "Nobody messes with the DO!!!"
Ace! He much better fighter than you!
That jump scare was hilarious.
Agreed 🤣
10 outta 10...
would watch again! 😂😂😂😂
23:20
Bumble bee tuna, the plot was a bit more intricate in the first one, this was just over the top silliness.
This one was always my favourite it's relentlessly funny.
relentlessly funny is EXACTLY right. It is never not hilarious.
Jim Carrey actually didn't like the idea of Ace having fear of bats because he thought it was out of character & he did have an argue with the director about it.
Carrey suggested that Ace should have an allergy for bats instead. Even though the batphobia is funny in the movie, I have to agree that the allergy suggestion makes much more sense.
Jim really didn't want to do this sequel at all, but he had to because of contract obligation.
Jim was one of those actors who didn't like to do sequels & reprise a role, & back then when they were planning to make a The Mask 2 I'm pretty sure he didn't look forward to make it at all, but was very relieved when that movie got cancelled.
But when he got older & he wasn't in his heyday anymore, he was more willing to do sequels with Dumb & Dumber 2 & the sequels for Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
It was an apple core he took out of the tribes man.
There was no point on turning off the lights because it was daytime & it was daylight inside 😂😜
Yes exactly! That’s why he’s the best comedian, because he’s very versatile. He plays different characters in all of his movies and doesn’t like to play the same character twice. The only other comedian who’s just as versatile as him is Robin Williams
I always thought it was cuz he also played the riddler in BATMAN forever that same summer. And thats why he "was scared of bats".Oh well...
@@555ok5 Well now that you mentioned it... 😂😜
That one bat napper is Australian, he was also in The Road Warrior with Mel Gibson, he played the helicopter guy
The bloke with the 'wide eyes' is definitely Australian. He was also in Mad Max 2, the Road Warrior. He played the helicopter pilot.
Bruce Spence was also in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. He also played the "black lieutenant" aka Mouth of Sauron in LOTR
He also plays The Chief in Aussie sci-fi series *Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left*
Bruce Spence is sci-fi/fantasy royalty at this point. Mad Max, LOTR, and Star Wars (Ep III).
Don't forget zeddicus zuul zarander from the legend of the seeker series
"Hello Ace! I got captured, no sweat!"
Every scene with Ouda is a delight 😃 he's just so joyful, even when translating the most dire of news. And always so eager to help Ace 😅
Amen, whatever his shortcomings as an interpreter, he made up for it with his cheerful enthusiasm. 😂😂
By calling animals with his butt like Tarzan's voice. HA HA HA!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I once saw a meme of Ace Ventura struggling to get out of the rhino, with the caption, A Perfect Bathroom ArtDoesn't Exis...
😂😂😂
SO many quotes from this one live rent free in my head my whole life so far
The beginning of the movie, where the racoon fell, was a parody to a Stallone's movie called Cliff hanger
"is he trying to kill his monkey?" lmmfao
Dude, ever since this came out when I was, like, 12 I alway found the "bumble bee tuna," part so ridiculously funny lol
Watching again so many years after the fact..am already enamoured by the friggin first scene lol the chitty chitty one... The stupid symbolism right there is....its monty python level genius.. ace ventura is cheff kiss..
Fun fact, when the guy says bat, that looks was because he was filming Batman (he's the Riddler) at the same time of that movie.
*Riddler
fun fact......when he was driving on the smooth rode and started singing CHITY-CHITY-BANG BANG....it was improvised because he forgot his line.....and since the other actor did not laugh or break character the director left it in....
If it makes you feel better that elephant taxidermy was a plastic replica, they sell them in different poses, including rhino, hippo, walrus and polar bear
Beauty of reactions is this felt like a drop off so I haven't really seen it since I was as a kid. But, this is still a pretty funny movie.
yay, I was waiting for you to react this Mary 🥰
23:05 Right up there with the turncoat in Raiders.
The spear in the thighs scream is, and always will be, one of the great comedy moments.
Niiiice!!!!
I was hoping this was coming soon!
"He kind of reminded me of how the Grinch acts"
... well there's a reason for that
This was a good one, but IMO the first one is still the superior movie.
Having said that, I can still remember my uncle - who later has a stroke and lost the ability to speak - laughing SO HARD at Ace coming out of the rhinos butt. It's been so long since I heard my uncle's voice, but I can vividly remember his bellowing laugh.
I'm good. 👍
One of Jim Carrey's funniest works of the 1990s and throughout his entire career. Watching your reactions to the Ace Ventura films was among the best parts of my day(s).
Fun fact: Jim didn’t wanna do this movie. The only reason he did was because he was on contract to do it
6 year old me watching this when it came out about died during the rhino scene from laughing so hard
This is one of the rare comedies where the sequel is better than the original
When you were asking if the guys were Australian, it made me remember a movie with someone who definitely was. There was an Australian comedian who had a minor movie hit in North America back in the late 80s called Young Einstein that would be fun to see you give a watch.
The scene that Ace said the old man you must be the monopoly guy it's true he kind a look alike but the missing parts of him is the hat, the glasses and the cane too.
When I was a kid the scene with him crawling out from the rhino was the funniest thing in the world. Now that I'm an adult the scene with him crawling out from the rhino is still the funniest thing in the world.
Another amazing reaction Mary ❤❤😁😁.
I laughed at BOTH FILMS, but I laughed HARDER at the SECOND ONE 🤣.
Thanks for all of your hard work duudette!
Ace being trapped in the mechanical rhino and struggling to get out and making it look like the rhino’s giving birth to him is the best and funniest scene! LOL 🤣
Speaking of Bats there was a Sci Fi Thriller from the 90s called bats that’s really good. Ironically the guy who plays Burton Quinn is also in that movie
The truck chase is my favorite scene.
Ace hating bats is even funnier considering Jim Carrey played Ridder in Batman Forever same year. ? 🦇
A movie you MUST watch and review that will bring you to absolute tears at the end is called “Without a Trace” (1983).
I posted about this in the TMC Movie Fan site earlier this week and got over 5,000 likes and 1,000 comments thus far.
That’s how impactful this movie was.
I like this one better than the first. It's jam-packed with silliness.
The beginning scene with the racoon is a parody of the opening scene of the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone 😂😂
I love bats. They're like cute little puppies with wings.
Flying foxes are probably the cutest, IMO.
That first scene with the racoon falling to his death is a parody of a Stallone film, Cliffhanger.
So glad I was a kid in the 80s and 90s.
At 22:24. The bloke who says 'wed get 5,000 dollars for one of those' is played by Bruce Spence, A New Zealand-Australian actor.
I only noticed TODAY, he also played 'The Train man' in the 2nd&3rd Matrix movies!!!
Fun fact he also played the Mouth of Sauron in the extended cut of Peter Jackson's adaptation of Lord of the Rings.
The actor playing one of the two hunters, the one with the hat, is Australian. His name is Bruce Spence. He's not a huge actor, more like he specializes in supporting roles. Some of his more notable appearances include the Trainman in Matrix Revolutions, Mr. Wall in Dark City, Gyro Captain in Mad Max 2, Mouth of Sauron in the extended version of LOTR: Return of the King, and the voice of Chum in Finding Nemo.
You just passed the main event of the comedy
every time I see him running out of that cave it reminds me of a time one of my buddies had a spider on him 😂😂😂
I am writing this to help out Mary Cherry and this video, and this channel with the algorithm🥰
The reason he was afraid of bats was because it was a call back to Jim being in Batman Forever. A movie he shot before this one like a year or two ago from this one.
The raccoon part in the beginning of the film is a joke from the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone
Bear in mind this film came out shortly after Jim Carrey played the Riddler in one of the Batman films.
It'll explain his reaction to hearing about a bat.
Especially since Bats are super adorable!!!
Flying foxes are my personal favorite.
@@CrankyMoogle Same!!!✨
When ace was driving through the jungle with the other guy beside him and he starts singing chitty chitty bang bang, that whole scene was improvised by jim carrey
I like this Equinsu Ocha sequel especially its prequel.
I like the first one a lot, but I LOVE this one
still the hardest ive ever laughed in a movie theater. I thought i was gonna die.
I think this might've been the only Jim Carrey film I've seen in a theater. Mostly rented 'em. And it's still one of my favorites.
3:42 the whole raccoon scene is a parody of the movie Cliffhanger with sylvester stallone, who fails to save a climber in the same way
The 2 Ravagers had beef, I suspect it was intentional.
Bruce Spence (the Aussie with the big eyes) is definitely very Aussie. He was in Mad Max II, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, and lots of Aussie movies and TV shows, in fact, he has quite the resume. He also played 'The Mouth of Sauron' in LOTR: The Return of the King.
Dunno about the other guy, but his accent is spot on, so I'm guessing...yes.
The opening scene is a parody of the Movie "Cliffhanger" opening scene with Sylvester Stalone !
"Tis the mucus, that binds us..."
You are GORGEOUS. SHIKAKA!
I hope you eventually decide to watch Cliffhanger, just from watching that opening of this movie. It’s probably one of the best Stallone movies.
6:00 how I imagine all the roads in Australia would be that scene always makes me lol.
One of my best friends and his wife reference this movie years later. They watched it so many times! It’s a Jim Carrey standout imo.
The opening scene with the raccoon is almost a shot for shot parody of the excellent Sylvester Stallone action movie "CLIFFHANGER ". If You get an opportunity to watch that movie as well as Stallone's other movies from the 90's to the mid 2000"s you should do so.
Ace Ventura: when you have absolutely no impulse control or verbal filter but are really about those animals. 😂
My mum showed me these movies as a kid, because i was really starting to like Jim Carey. I watched The Mask a lot. These became another set of wear-the-tapes-out childhood classics. I didn't understand the adult jokes at all until i got much older, had the talk and sex-ed and all that.😂
There's a third that was either TV or direct to DVD called Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective (or Ace Ventura: Pet Detective Jr.) about his son Ace Jr. (also Melissa's son) investigating his own animal case. It's not great, it's not awful though. Up to you if you want to watch it.
Girl i was looking at u whole time u r gorgeous❤❤
this movie has a Mandela effect where because of Ace's Comment, many people assume the Monopoly guy has a monocle - he does not.
Hi Mary.
My usual reminder to watch the rest of Star trek movies.
And also the rest of american pie franchise
Ace Ventura is one of those great characters that's endlessly quotable
they just don't make movies like this anymore and that is probably my biggest problem with "cancel culture" if a movie like this came put today it would get torn to shreds they ban or cancel it and anyone in it. I wish we could get back to a time when movies like Ace Ventura, Happy Gilmore, Trading Places, Superbad or even Tropic Thunder could get made again.
The tall poacher, Ghaji is played by Bruce Spence, a famous Australian character actor who has appeared in two of the Mad Max films. He also played the Trainman in The Matrix Revolutions and the Mouth of Sauron in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
When ace is singing chitty chitty bang bang it was because Jim Carrey forgot his lines so the other actors surprised face is 100% genuine.
Nice reaction Mary, the first one still my favorite. 🥰❤️🔥
The actor Jim Carrey is the real Joker in his movies. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
YESSSS!!!!!
"You must be the Monopoly guy?" "Do not pass go, do not collect $200!"
I think this scene might be why everyone thinks the Monopoly Guy wears a monocle.
Genuinely shocked you don't know Bruce Spence
The opening scene with the raccoon is a spoof from "Cliffhanger" where Sylvester Stallone is a mountain climbing guide but he has a woman fall from a climb just like the raccoon.
People don't know they need to see Cliffhanger first.
Since he played The Riddler in a Batman movie, I like to pretend Ace and The Riddler are the same person. That The Riddler was rehabilitated with a love of animals, changed his name to Ace Ventura, but his hate/fear of bats lives on.
oh yes!! Was hoping you'd react to the sequel. So Fn funny. I also find it funny that he's trying to rescue a bat, then later Jim Carey is Riddler in Batman Forever lol
