Carrey was actually in the last Dirty Harry film, The Dead Pool (1988). He played a high concept metal rocker. For a shot time. 😏

If you loved "Eternal Sunshine", you'll love Adam Sandler in either "Punch Drunk Love" (Adam Sandler, Emily Watson, Philip Seymour-Hoffman), or "Meyerwitz Stories" with Sandler and Stiller playing brothers. Both are dramas, with Punch Drunk Love, being a Romantic Comedy of Sandler seemingly going through a panic attack the whole movie. This movie also won him an Oscar 4 years before he did "Click".
It seems to me Adam Sandler is going for now dramatic roles, which I think is the right move for him to redefine his career. He has a Noah Baumbach and a Safdie Brothers Movie lined up.

I don't know if you ever realized it by Einhorn is being played by Sean Young which she also played Rachael in Blade Runner. Eventually you'll get around to watching Dune and she played Chani in the 1984 version of Dune. The same character is being played by Zendaya in the current trilogy(?) that's being made.

When I was a kid my family lived in Homestead, FL which is part of Miami-Dade County so the Dolphins where my football team growing up, they also at the time shared the stadium (then known as Joe Robbie Stadium) with the then Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins), my dad and brother went to the Superbowl the year it was hosted there and me and my dad went to a Marlins game at that stadium (I have a souvenir baseball from that trip) so i've been to that stadium. Also as a kid the school I was in took us on a field trip to a renaissance fair, the fair was held on the grounds of that building where the party is (the "do not go in their" party) so i've actually stood on those same steps they are walking up from the car (fun fact thats actually the rear of the property). My oldest sister also worked with autistic kids for some big organization and they had organized some kind of group outing or something one time that Dan Marino was involved in (he has an autistic kid if you didn't know) so my sister got to spend a day hanging out with Dan Marino, keeping in mind he was our quarterback growing up. So I have some connection to this film.

Jim Carrey actually rearranged the film's production in order to accommodate Cannibal Corpse's touring schedule - that's how badly wanted them to appear in the movie and perform "Hammer Smashed Face". Many death metal fans today say this movie was their first exposure to the music. 🤘

Speaking of comedy classics, you HAVE to see THE PRODUCERS (1967). Stars Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel and directed by Mel Brooks. Gene Wilder got a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for this, while Mel Brooks won Best Original Screenplay. JOJO RABBIT owes a lot to this film.

Funny story, I have been asked (as a transwoman) multiple times in my life if this movie offends me because the villain is a transwoman. Simply put: NO. I find this question to just be ridiculous because, do hockey players get offended because Jason Voorhees is a slasher villain? Do scientists get offended when a villain is a mad scientist? No. It's just fiction.

However, these days they are used almost exclusively by doctors and employees of companies where cell phones are not allowed and the employees still need to be available and reachable, and most pagers these days are the kind that can receive text instead of just a callback number. There are still over 2 million active pagers in use as of 2024.
