I wonder why large companies don’t donate feminine hygiene products to prisons. They need tax deductible donations. Do they not want to be associated helping women that are incarcerated ?
Yes, but they're also in prison. Edit: Since all of y'all who read it immediately assumed I was a monster let me explain. I think I should just state this, I am a woman. I was critiquing their use of the word inhumane. Prison is not a hotel and should not be luxurious. I don't believe they should free bleed because its not hygienic. It's gross and painful.

I've never been to prison, but I know people including myself who have been charged with crimes they didn't commit. Since I'm poor, I don't have a good chance of getting out of trouble, and I haven't won a case yet. I know people who have been in both and I also know and have family that are correctional officers in both jails and prisons and also for the ones for the minors. They can tell you how they really are. They are supposed to be a difference but there is a lot of similarities also.

@@jasmina5890 idk we used to that in my uni shared apartment. one of my friends was always ready to comfort and give counsel so we started jokingly call her mom. another roommate was always out for work and kinda emotionally distant, but still caring, so she became dad. Grumpy roomate was gran and the younger of us was and still is like a baby sister to me. we all came from different family experiences, all of us didn't believe in gender roles yet we formed this kind of fictional relationships on top of our friendship, maybe to make the actual place we were living in feel like home. I think of it as a sort of emotional furniture. Just an idea.
In prison you aren’t allowed to turn products into anything it’s called contraband and they will write you up for that if you get caught and they Can even throw you into the hole for that, most prisoners don’t think much of it, but if you make something like a razer into a weapon they could even add time to your sentence for that, so being a “DIY-er” in prison is not such a good idea
That's the US justice system for you. Always remember they have the highest prison population per capita on earth and what people get thrown into jails/prison for. In my country they get as much hygiene products as they need, of course they at first just get a few but they then can just ask for more whenever they need it. Rehabilitation is a lot better here too. I wonder why...

Literally everything about prison is wrong. Solitary confinement is traumatizing, the environment doesn’t provide you with enough ways to get back in the real world. Also, they can and do extend your prison time because prisoners make them money. They create repeat offenders.
I did the whole mommy daddy thing but I was always a kid. It really did help me to stay positive and mentally sane especially because I missed my own mom and dad so damn much.
@@riaavelar8491 I don't think I have a serious condition, but I do have pretty heavy periods (I can bleed through a regular tampon in 2-3 hours on heavier days), and I can't imagine having that while in prison. I can barely stand a day at school with it

I think the mommy and daddy role play is nothing sexual or weird... it’s more about forfull their need of social interaction. Social interaction often come in the basic packet; a family of mom, dad and children. But taking the part of the family role play, you get your need of a family, not being alone and feel comfort in a not so comfortable place/situation.
It is weird and only people who are suffering from mental illness would play this game. It is like a 3 year old. Grow up and deal with your life. This is the kind of stuff that would make me Crazy to watch. Whomever thinks this is ok is needing some serious help.

I did 3 years too, in VA. I try not to think about it, because people dont understand you can still be a great person who just made mistakes. I do enjoy your videos and reliving the funny times. And to go back and remember how far I've come too. I'm proud of ya girl. A lot of people dont realize how special it is...what we've accomplished. A lot of the same things happen. I think in general though men are generally more violent creatures than females so of course it's going to be a little more violent than female prisons. You also have the "husband/wife" roles in male prisons. And then of course.. The sexual assaults are a lot worse than in female prisons cause generally men are just more violent.
Yeah, in the Netherlands they actually want to take care of people who got into trouble and make sure they won't do more crime when they get out... They had to close prisons and import prisoners because they just don't have enough people to fill the prisons with.
You're so right! I live in the Netherlands and the stories she's telling sounds nothing like the stories I've heard here. Like, you just get taken care of here. And they make sure you won't do anything bad again. But ya know, I've never been to jail, so I'll never really know 🤷🏼♀️

Thats weird. When i first went to prison one of the inmates was leaving the day i came in and offered to give me her empty water bottle. I was so grateful cause i knew why. Some locations you cant get water from the nasty ass water fountain during call etc. So instead fill it up and bring it to your bunk so if you need water you dont get in trouble or written up for not being on your bunk when you werent allowed to leave. Even for a sip of water or to pee. I was so grateful getting an inmates plastic water bottle the day i came in the same day they left. I washed it out but shit until I can buy stuff from commissary that water bottle was grateful. the lil things in prison.
I have to say, I am so grateful I came across your channel last week. I have watched a couple of videos since. I have honestly never had an interaction with a woman that has been in prison (at least that I know of), and I think I had preconceived ideas of what that might be like. You have definitely changed my perception and I am so glad you are doing as well as you are now. I watched the video with the guest you had on your channel that gave birth while incarcerated. I am studying to be a nurse right now, & after watching that I feel I will have a different attitude than I might have had if I have a chance to work with incarcerated patients. Christina the fact that you just said IC when some DOCTORS don’t even know what it is….. I almost started crying. I live in miserable pain from lupus & interstitial cystitis and I’ve been told I’m crazy by some physicians even when scans show I have absolutely no lining left in my bladder. I'm pulled over crying on the side of the road watching this because I have Interstitial Cystitis which is one of the most painful bladder conditions. I can't imagine not having enough toilet paper to use after how much you have to go to the bathroom and sit and cry on the toilet. I can't imagine the conditions without proper care of this condition. It's excruciating. My empathy level has increased 10 fold from your videos. Thank you.

This is a weird question, but I have honestly been wondering.. what do ladies do when they have to be strip searched or shaken down just arriving in prison and they are on their periods?? I can’t imagine how humiliating and messy that could be 😟
I mean, your not bleeding 24/7 when your on your period so you'll probably be OK like 90% of the time anyway. But they're all women, they all have periods (likely) so there's nothing to be ashamed of 🤷🏻

The guards make you take off your pad and hand it to them. They check the pad and your undies for contraband, then bend over, spread em and cough. They dgaf. I got to jail and had to do it, and yes, I was bleeding

I know and understand if you do a crime I believe you should do the time that is accurate for what you have done but they should give you basic feminine hygiene like tampons, pads, and of course deodorant, toothpaste ext.
I was in county jail here in PA and all the girls do that. It was crazy the first time I saw that. I've been in county jail three times. Everytime I go. I learn new things.

I think the mommy and daddy role play is nothing sexual or weird... it’s more about forfull their need of social interaction. Social interaction often come in the basic packet; a family of mom, dad and children. But taking the part of the family role play, you get your need of a family, not being alone and feel comfort in a not so comfortable place/situation.
We had street families. It's helpful so you don't feel so alone honestly.
It is weird and only people who are suffering from mental illness would play this game. It is like a 3 year old. Grow up and deal with your life. This is the kind of stuff that would make me Crazy to watch. Whomever thinks this is ok is needing some serious help.

I did 3 years too, in VA. I try not to think about it, because people dont understand you can still be a great person who just made mistakes. I do enjoy your videos and reliving the funny times. And to go back and remember how far I've come too. I'm proud of ya girl. A lot of people dont realize how special it is...what we've accomplished. Recidivism is rampant in that lifestyle...again great job!!! I love your channel & videos!

A lot of the same things happen. I think in general though men are generally more violent creatures than females so of course it's going to be a little more violent than female prisons. You also have the "husband/wife" roles in male prisons. And then of course.. The sexual assaults are a lot worse than in female prisons cause generally men are just more violent.

Yeah, in the Netherlands they actually want to take care of people who got into trouble and make sure they won't do more crime when they get out... They had to close prisons and import prisoners because they just don't have enough people to fill the prisons with.
You're so right! I live in the Netherlands and the stories she's telling sounds nothing like the stories I've heard here. Like, you just get taken care of here. And they make sure you won't do anything bad again. But ya know, I've never been to jail, so I'll never really know 🤷🏼♀️

Also, in America, the more money and social capital that you have, usually equals no prison time or a light sentence at "club fed"....see Martha Stewart.

Thats weird. When i first went to prison one of the inmates was leaving the day i came in and offered to give me her empty water bottle. I was so grateful cause i knew why. Some locations you cant get water from the nasty ass water fountain during call etc. So instead fill it up and bring it to your bunk so if you need water you dont get in trouble or written up for not being on your bunk when you werent allowed to leave. Even for a sip of water or to pee. I was so grateful getting an inmates plastic water bottle the day i came in the same day they left. I washed it out but shit until I can buy stuff from commissary that water bottle was grateful. the lil things in prison.

I have to say, I am so grateful I came across your channel last week. I have watched a couple of videos since. I have honestly never had an interaction with a woman that has been in prison (at least that I know of), and I think I had preconceived ideas of what that might be like. You have definitely changed my perception and I am so glad you are doing as well as you are now. I watched the video with the guest you had on your channel that gave birth while incarcerated. I am studying to be a nurse right now, & after watching that I feel I will have a different attitude than I might have had if I have a chance to work with incarcerated patients. I just wanted to hug her!! Anyways, thanks for sharing your light.

Christina the fact that you just said IC when some DOCTORS don’t even know what it is….. I almost started crying. I live in miserable pain from lupus & interstitial cystitis and I’ve been told I’m crazy by some physicians even when scans show I have absolutely no lining left in my bladder.

I'm pulled over crying on the side of the road watching this because I have Interstitial Cystitis which is one of the most painful bladder conditions. I can't imagine not having enough toilet paper to use after how much you have to go to the bathroom and sit and cry on the toilet. I can't imagine the conditions without proper care of this condition. It's excruciating. My empathy level has increased 10 fold from your videos. Thank you.

This is a weird question, but I have honestly been wondering.. what do ladies do when they have to be strip searched or shaken down just arriving in prison and they are on their periods?? I can’t imagine how humiliating and messy that could be 😟
I mean, your not bleeding 24/7 when your on your period so you'll probably be OK like 90% of the time anyway. But they're all women, they all have periods (likely) so there's nothing to be ashamed of 🤷🏻

I know and understand if you do a crime I believe you should do the time that is accurate for what you have done but they should give you basic feminine hygiene like tampons, pads, and of course deodorant, toothpaste ext.
I was in county jail here in PA and all the girls do that. It was crazy the first time I saw that. I've been in county jail three times. Everytime I go. I learn new things.
