      @ninewectawski1935 5 лет назад +306

      Marie F I think it comes from them knowing that if they get sick or catch an infection the jail/prison isn't going to do a thing about it. There has been countless men and women who have died horrible slow deaths (and fast ones) because the CO's, the system doesn't give a shit, they deny you seeing a Dr or Nurse. So being clean, living in a clean environment and the other people clean keeps everyone's health up. It's kinda plagues and other contagious diseases, we all know that if the living area isn't up to par everyone is getting sick and many can and will die from it.

      You can make yourself a cake, or if you have friends they might make it for you. But no, there’s no special procedures. Prison doesn’t care it’s your birthday- nobody there does except maybe a friend or two if you’re lucky.

    • @Amy_Nicole_Sabas
      @Amy_Nicole_Sabas 5 лет назад +125

      lmao no there's no special procedure. my dad was a CO in prisons for over 20 years and based on how he says things work, the prison system only cares if you're alive. no other luxuries beyond the bare MINIMUM necessities to keep you alive. and believe me they're always going to cut corners budget-wise if they can... you're only gonna be given what will keep you breathing and heart beating.

    • @tanner367
      @tanner367 5 лет назад +53

      Nori Berghmans that’s an unfair assumption because there are so many charges that aren’t “seriously bad” if we’re using that as the term most people use it. and a lot of people are falsely imprisoned because of the broken justice system. and do you think people deserve to be treated as less than human for breaking laws created too many years ago

    • @zackrose5265
      @zackrose5265 5 лет назад +12

      Tanner my dad was put in prison for 7 years because his gf at the time committed suicide and he’s stubborn af so he didn’t plead guilty, if he had he would’ve gotten 2 years.

    • @DaughteroftheForest2023
      @DaughteroftheForest2023 5 лет назад +22

      Nori Berghmans yes people go there for a reason but in many other countries it’s treated as rehabilitation for the people and not being treated like less than animals. Idk if you watch her video about being transported from jail to prison but people aren’t allowed to go to the bathroom. They were pooping and peeing on themselves and people in the comments were saying it happened to them and they permanently damaged their bladder because of it. That’s not right. Yeah I would say there is a percentage of people in there that are totally sick and did deplorable things and maybe do deserve that. But for most? No they don’t.

I asked one girl how everyone knew asl and she said "no, this is psl" (prison sign language) even the gaurds knew it. Its slightly different than asl as to accommodate for the distance between inmates.

Do they go to the nurse 6x a day to get their blood sugar taken & insulin shots? What if their blood sugar drops; do they take them to the nurse or give them some juice? They have a scheduled Med pass for diabetics to test your sugar and do your insulin. When you do the intake process they’ll ask you what you do on the outside and what insulin you use. If you’re feeling low tell the co’s and they can call medical or bring you up. Some places have a diabetic snack time at night when NPH usually starts to peak for people who are on that. Nurses know who the diabetics are so their pretty aware of their needs. They also call your pharmacy or doctor on intake to confirm medications to try and keep what’s working for that person✌🏻prison nurse 👩🏻‍⚕️

      @@christinaarandall you really should tour schools and youth organizations for troubled youth and tell your story. Not the same way they used to hearing it but tell them all these unspoken rules all the things the professionals don’t tell them about, what only an ex inmate would know. Tell ‘‘em how rough being released is how it’s not just about surviving their prison term but the battles and struggles of being released into a world that has carried on without them. I really think God (no disrespect if you don’t believe in god) I’m all Greek like you doll and I was drowned into the catholic religion since I popped out of my mama lol. I watch your content all the time, but still everytime you talk about prison and your time before it, it amazes me how you turned your life around. It's inspiring for so many reasons and applies to so many different situations. You've been through hell and you had to make it out relying on yourself. In one of the previous videos you mentioned you had no family to visit you in prison, and now look at you. I mean wow. Just wow Christina, i hope you're proud of yourself every damn day!

    Have you done a video with Jeremy about his time as an inmate? I am assuming he's done time, with the video of him doing prison burritos. I'd love a story time or more from his perspective

    I’m curious if in prison if there’s that one person who is just really nice to everyone and doesn’t get in fights and is sorta like the weak/timid one you mentioned at the end but everyone just mutually respects them and protects them, ya know what I’m trying to say? Like the “baby” of the prison or whatever and if you mess with them you’ll get a group of angry, “motherly”, protective inmates after you😂

      Hey idk about anywhere else but where i was that was me lol even the guards would call me into their guard bubble to ask me what the hell i was there for and i look so innocent and should not be in there. Everytime the big boss would come in the dorm she would ask me to make sure no one was bullying me because im tiny and all the other bigger girls would definitely stand up for me. It was sweet.
