Thank you so much. This thing got me stumped for so long. This was the reason why I wasn't able to view my texture specifically made for my model in the viewport but when I make a new shape, the image was able to show.
I think I get this problem when I drag a model from one Maya instance to another. Something I do often for reusing assets from one project to another project. thanks for your help I never could remember how to merge them and found help before but never remember where. Cam across this video, kudos as it helps undersatnd the problem better.
I used to make it somehow but I forgot. My uv shells of unified body have different shadow blinking along their borders in maya, how can I remove those borders for unified visual effect? It's something around smoothing groups but I can't remember the solution... //I look like need to have normal map for the first, it's all about tangent space right/left handled option. Now I have my color map only, so..
A very cool tutorial, but what to do when somehow two default uv sets and a Straighted UVs doesn't save and it reset when the file is opened next time?
Hi, Weird question but would you happen to have the tutorial practice files for the Game Animators guide to Maya. I know its an old book but I bought a copy and the disk was cracked, even contacted the publisher but they didnt have a copy anymore. I think the book is good and honestly would love to finish the tutorials in it. Yes, I fully realize its old, but so am I =)
Unfortunately, I no longer have those files anywhere myself either! Like you say, it's an old book. I hope you find it useful regardless. There are definitely resources out there (turbosquid, for example) where you can find free models of characters to use for rigging practice!

Thank you so much for some reason I could not delete the Deffault UV set but I soilve the "broken UV set" by copying the correct one!

When I use cut in the UV editor the cut area is not highlited in white or any color. How can I fix this?
sometimes it can't be deleteed why ?
it says The default uv set cannot be deleted.
