I definitely think Olivia Cooke has a chance of winning awards for alicent in s2 just because of the emotional impact the events of the season are going to have on her.
I still think Ottos line was directed towards Aegon, Aemond, and Criston after he gets fired, not towards the Blacks, since you can see he packed all his stuff and you can see he no longer has the hand pin like he had in other shoots. Also the coin flipping is Aemond, you can see Aegon in the background across of him, def Aemonds thin fingers and the position checks out, it's also a slight parallel to ep 10 when spins/plays with his dagger at Storms End.
I feel like the blood and cheese scene will end with the slash at the end of episode one and then episode two starts with handmade carrying sheets. Kinda how Ned die’s episode 9 and episode 10 we see the head from a distance
Great detailed breakdown. I enjoyed listening to this yesterday on my morning commute to work. So the big battle beats this season / S2 seems to be Burning Mill , Rook's Rest and expanding Harrnehal into more of a siege than the text suggested ? Makes sense and even though i try to stay away from leaks and spoilers the Gullet does seem to be pushed to S3 , i do not really see it fitting into this shortened season anyway and not like we've seen a remote glimpse of a huge naval battle for S2. And apologies if i missed it during this vid but has there been any clarity on that dragon near the end of the Greens' teaser / trailer ? Apologies if i missed your analysis of it in this vid , if you included it i must have missed it on my first listen during my commute. Some say its Seasmoke and in that lighting not impossible but i thought i remembered more discernible red accents and different horns on the face and head of Seasmoke in S1 (unless i am misremembering). Given it was a Greens' teaser i suspected it was actually Dreamfyre , that dragon in that glimpse looked like Drogon , which could give credence to the Dreamfyre as the mother of Dany's dragons (would be a nice nod from Condal. Unless it was the lighting throwing me off , did not look like a dragon we already saw in S1.
@@thedragondemands5186 ah yes in the text its not much of a struggle , i thought they might have been expanding it to more of siege for the show / HotD. Look forward to your dragons vid breaking that all down. I'd assume with you clarifying that glimpse is of Seasmoke would be him preparing to take a new rider / Addam.
@@thedragondemands5186 thats a good point , for some reason i was thinking we caught a glimpse of Seasmoke after Laenor's HotD disappearance but i believe you are correct and we have not. And i haven't rewatched HotD since its original airing so perhaps my memory of Seasmoke's exact look not the best anyway. He certainly should look older and different after so long, i thought his facial and neck horns were different the last time we saw him (though could alter with age) and more definable red accents. But could be his aging , my memory playing tricks and the dark lighting threw me off a bit. Best to get clarity from you about the Condal confirmation , unintentionally had heard it from some click-baity not as reliable sources so was looking for confirmation from a reliable source like yourself.
13:41 I think it actually is Rhaenyra when she prepares to fly to Harrenhal/Redfork when u compare her braid to the hair she is wearing when she is in ship breakers bay/the still where she cries to daemon. Also as a hair person if that braid would’ve somehow opened up it wouldn’t look the way it does in ship breakers bay
I think more and more that HBO is building up the ground to do a remake. They are doing so many things that seems to lead up to do a remake. To give D & D the finger.
Great video as always I just love listening to you go in depth. Something that I think when you talk about Jace going to the wall Bran was touched by the Night King then went past the wall Dany was able to go north of the wall cause Bran deactivated the magic when he crossed over. *just a thought as hear you talk about it*
Amazing video! Can I just add my two cents? I don't think that shot of Rhaenyra walking to Syrax is in episode 1, because she is wearing a braid in that scene, while we can see that her hair is kind of loose when she is at Shipbreaker Bay. Also, her outfit seems to be black or dark blue, rather than burgundy like the one she is wearing in episode 1. My guess is that this is a scene of her either in episode 7 (the outfit and the hair seem similar to the ones she's wearing when meeting with Addam) or in episode 8. Now, a question, which I don't know if you can confirm, but... Is Mysaria actually going to be part of Blood and Cheese in the show? Considering the leaks about Daemon sneaking into King's Landing, I thought of the possibility of him hiring the assassins himself, without Mysaria's help.
I’m curious to know what the episode runtimes will be? I know season 1 pretty much average about 60 minutes. Seems like a lot is going on in the first few episodes?
A two-handed Greatsword weighs less than 8 pounds. I just think Ned Stark was not trained to fight with at two-handed great sword. He was a second son.
Personally I have not read the dance of the dragon bit of fire and blood but I think Aegon created the Joffrey parallel in his brother, Aemond while himself being a Robert parallel. Although sweet Helaena is about as big of an anti-Cersei as the show gets.
That's exactly how they are in the book. The season 1 kinda modified Aegon and Aemond characters a bit. But it seems season 2 will adapt their book versions.
I actually think the coin-flipper is Aemond. The next shot in the trailer is edited as a connecting shot, and it's Alicent looking at Aemond at the far end of the small council table (with his back to the entrance of the room), then shifting her gaze to the person on the other end, which in all small council meetings in Season 1 has been the king. The person opposite the coin-flipper has a window behind him, and as far as I can recall, in all the small council meetings in Season 1 the windows in that room are behind the king and on the king's right. In all those small council meetings the ones on the king's left were always the Master of Law, the Archmaester, and the Master of Coin. But if one of them was the coin-flipper (and we can rule out Orwyle), then they would be opposite Alicent (at least that's what the edit suggests). That means the coin-flipper must be opposite the king. So far that position was always for the Master of Ships (first Corlys, later Tyland). But the Master of Ships position is vacant at this point, so who sits there? That's why I think they will slide Aemond into these meetings.
@@thedragondemands5186 I know, but puzzles are fun! 😃 Also a testament to Ryan Condal's consistency in placement at that table. I like details like that.

Great swords such as Claymores weighed less than a baby. They could easily be wielded by people who are trained. Any 10-year-old child could lift a claymore could it be welded it's a different story. and since it's a magical sword weighing less than a normal sword it should be wielded in battle. Like the Claymore. They were British-Scottish officers fighting with Claymores in India.
I think they're going to omit nettles and give her role to one of daemon'@ daughters. Rhaena doesn't have a dragon. It would make sense it is her who claims sheepstealer. It would also make sense for her to have a connection to daemon, and even live with him if he survives the fight against aemond. Much more interesting than what happens in the books...
Forgive me if you've already reported on this, but do we know why the show changed Corlys' illness to a war injury? The impression I got from the books was that he might've been poisoned to precipitate the Driftmark succession. Since the show loosely implied that Alicent was giving Viserys more milk of the poppy than he needed to ensure he'd miss the Driftmark petition so Otto could preside over it and rule in Vaemond's favor, it stood to reason that they might've also had Corlys poisoned; or the petition could've been something Alicent discussed with Larys and he took it upon himself to poison Corlys for her, similar to how he orchestrated the fire at Harrenhal to create the opening for Otto to get his job back. It's here nor there at this point; just something I'm curious about.
Aegon the Gold dragon will rise this season , and we hope we get in depth into this character unlike S1 which reduced him to just a sexual harasser & drunk

Also, the Targ dragon bonding. The entire point of their dynasty is that they're super special magical folks who are the only ones who can tame these medieval nukes. People of non-Valyrian blood will supposedly always fail (which we can kinda see from the Sowing of the Seeds). But, then Nettles comes along and takes a dragon-a girl of dubious parentage who may not be a seed at all, but a commoner. @@DanLanningPRTeam the only way I can see this working is her challenging the notion that only people of Targaryen blood can ride dragon. She is the voice of the people in the book. When the battle of the gullet happens, the other seeds celebrate while she cries at all the death they wrought. Through her, you can see just how awful the cost of war is to the common man.
That is a signal to all the other people that yeah, they too could somehow get access to medieval nukes and that they may not have any reason to bow to the Targs anymore. Hill's Alive (a good ASOIAF yter with some interesting takes) theorized this is why Rhaenyra ordered her killed. So that the secret of her dragon taming didn't get out to the masses.
