    It seems the fact that the show has Rhaenyra recover Luke's corpse creates some very obvious and realistic ripple effects the book outline didn't have or ignored. Luke gets a funeral which should only happen after Jace's return regardless when this happens.
    Though even in the book Rhaenyra would have sent messages after Jace to inform him about his brother's death. They couldn't and wouldn't have ignored that. Jace lingering for a pretty long time in the North makes little sense if it happens after he learned about Luke's death. He would have flown back in any case to check on his mother and brothers and to be part of the decision-making process, only going back to his envoy mission afterwards.
    Thus they can only have him doubling back from the Vale. Season 1 already established that Rhaenyra and Daemon learn quickly about Luke's death, so the idea that Jace does learn the news only very late at Winterfell can't happen in the show. Once up there he might have finished the mission first before going back home ... but even then the mission would have been cut short by the news. No time then for hanging out with Cregan, going to the Wall, etc. But since we are getting that, he would have gone back to Dragonstone before going to Winterfell.
    If the news about Luke reach him at the Eyrie this could also set the stage for Jeyne's wish for dragonriders in the Vale.

    Yes, I agree with you. Plus, Rhaenyra could demand him to come back, because she was scared and thinking that he could be killed too.

    I dont see how they can fit in Blood & Cheese, funeral AND Winterfell. You are right, he goes to funeral straight from Erie. Great video !

      IF the E01 Winterfell introduction (which is confirmed) isn't Jace arriving, then it'll likely be the raven with 'generous terms' that Otto sent ahead, also giving us our introduction to Cregan. They'll fit it all in plus more.

    They had better not do any of that fast travel that was done in the final seasons of GOT. I am kind of hoping we see Jace meet up with Jeyne Arryn in the familiar set that is the Eyrie and someone rushes in with bad news. Even it’s for a few minutes.
    I truly hope Vermax flat out refuses to fly over the Wall like Silverwing did. Or at least acknowledge it.
    Lastly, I would like to know if the Starks had a similar pass down of the “prophecy” and the knowledge was (or rather will be) lost with Rickard and Brandon.

      We will likely learn from Cregan that King Torrhen bent the knee to Aegon either because he believed in the prophecy Aegon shared with him, or that Torrhen believed or knew enough about the Others to conclude that those dragons would be a real asset should the Wall ever be attacked.
      Luke's death as well as Rhaenyra's earlier realization that Viserys never told Daemon about prophecy stuff should also provide the ideal catalyst for her decision to tell Jace about the prophecy if she hasn't done that already. The knowledge could be lost or garbled if she were to die suddenly. Her life was in danger already during the stillbirth.

      Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Stark's had other crisis of heirs prior to the main series, hadn't they? If they had a prophecy trail like the Targaryens, it might have been long lost before then.

      Their main heir crisis came later, post-Cregan's death - there was a crisis of a kind, pre-Conquest, I believe.
      But the one that might get mentioned in the show, is Cregan's regent-uncle's attempt to usurp him in his youth...

    • @user-cy5tl7oh6x
      @user-cy5tl7oh6x 2 месяца назад

      Somebody at Storm's End via raven. Perhaps Ser Byron Swann, lol. In the book it could have taken them much longer to learn the news, explaining why Jace did not return there, apparently. Also ravens could have been lost or delayed by the weather there. Also, with Daemon already gone in the book and Rhaenyra collapsing when getting the news any messages to Jace may have been delayed further. Daemon put Blood & Cheese in motion when he got the news, meaning there is little chance he bothered with his stepson

    Tbh i was freaking out and thinking that they might cut a lot of his story but hopefully that won’t be the case, it would make sense that he heard about Luke's death and went to dragonstone and then go north because the north is so far away even with a dragon it can take time so i would love it if Jace spent the majority of the season in the North and by the end of the season they can bring him back and set up the battle of the gullet in S3, like we might not see him much in the Errie because Raena will be go there so they don’t need to focus much on Jace there, but i really don’t want them to cut a lot of his story and tbh i find his storyline the most interesting in the dance, it would be a shame if they cut a lot but i have faith in Ryan because in an interview he said they want to focus on the children since they couldn’t do that in S1.

    Hey, I wasn’t sure whether to contact you via RUclips or on Twitter but I came across a supposed “leak” on Reddit which appears dubious but wanted to know your opinion on the likelihood. If the leaks are correct some of it is disappointing. They claim that in ep 7 Rhaena will claim Sheepstealer in the Vale which doesn’t make sense why Sheepstealer would even be in the Vale. In episode 2 Hugh is supposed to incite riots against the Greens in King’s Landing. They also said ep 8 will have Rhaenyra go to Harrenhal to plan the attack on KL. I won’t post the rest here but I can share the original Reddit post.

    Can you do a video about army sizes in Dance of the Dragons? I want to get realistic numbers of the troop sizes on both sides, because in GOT, oh boy did they do wacky stuff with that. In the books, the Boltons are having such a hard time controlling the North, they have to bolster their forces with Freys. And after the Battle of the Goldroad, the Lannisters had fuck all any troops left, but magically their army was restored to the point they could bargain with Dany/Jon with their military strength in a informal alliance to fight the undead. Was anyone even keeping track of numbers in this show?

  • @diannebdee
    @diannebdee 2 месяца назад

    You have to believe Jon and the "Seven" were trapped on that rock like the Uruguayan rugby team that crashed in the Andes. I could have understood had Dany flown to The Wall to be on standby, but not what we got. Also, where on earth did the Night King get the chains they rose Visarion with?

    whats your theory on why they have Baela and Moondancer in the rooks rest battle when they battle Aegon and Sunfyre later in the book

    • @user-cy5tl7oh6x
      @user-cy5tl7oh6x 2 месяца назад +5

      I imagine they intend to make the Blacks look less stupid by not just sending one dragonrider to Rook's Rest when the chance that this will be a trap is actually pretty high. Also the show set up a close bond between Rhaenys and Baela and Aegon and Baela are destined for a big match later in the show. It makes sense to have them interact more earlier. Even more so as Baela is older in the show and ready and able to ride Moondancer.
      In fact, it would not surprise me if Rhaenyra were also at Rook's Rest and they are turning Rhaenys' death into a sacrifice to allow Rhaenyra and/or Baela to escape. One would also expect the Greens to bring Helaena and Dreamfyre, too, unless they go with the 'mad with grief' plot ... which doesn't seem to be the case. Rook's Rest could be a great gamble where Cole hoped to use all the large Green dragons in KL to destroy everybody Rhaenyra might send there.
      It could then mark the moment where both sides decide to use their dragonriders with more caution and in connection with armies, explaining why they don't try to torch Dragonstone, KL, or Oldtown with dragons later on.

      In my head canon atm, she takes over her grandmother's duties of patrolling the Gullet along with the Velaryon fleet while Rhaenys assists Lord Staunton in defense of his castle. I also don't think she arrives at Rook's Rest in the aftermath, as she could easily take revenge on the injured Sunfyre still flightless on the battlefield.

    I heard this on a clickbate channel a while back so take it with a grain of salt, but this person reported that the show was going to have a same-sex romance between Jace and Cregan. IF that happened, it's possible they won't cast Sara Snow because she's nothing more than a fable, crafted to conceal a romance between the two men. Again I'm not saying it's true; I'm inclined not to believe it; but if it is then there's a possibility they may not cast Sara.
