Ikd, Bracken v Blackwood is just as shallow in the books. Have yet to meet/read/hear someone actually cheering for the Brackens.
One side:
Is aligned to the Starks, has the "former greatness vibe" (dead weirwoord and all), is the (current) underdog and has deep lore (first men etc.).
The other:
Sided with Joffrey/Tywin/Cersei (absolute charmers), out of pure spite, lore as deep as any Riverlands house ("were kings sometime ages ago") and is unwilling to make any compromise.
As grey as it gets probably with Bittersteel v Bloodraven, but even there Bittersteel is as close to the main villain of all things Blackfyre as it gets (Daemon and Bloodraven getting way more ambiguity).

About Seasmoke, I think it's entirely possible that an abandoned dragon could take a new rider. Just because the people in the series don't commonly present that as a possibility doesn't mean it isn't one. There's a difference between "This is what usually happens" and "this is a hard rule, enforced by magic" and I think a lot of people are just assuming the one-rider thing falls into the latter category when it could just as easily be the former.
I haven't read fire and blood yet but I think someone said it has never happened in canon before that a dragon had a second rider while the first one was still alive. I mean the show could change that but, we will see I guess
@@blaubeer8039Nobody said something about it being impossible. But it is not very likely. Just because we haven't seen a yeti doesn't mean the possibility it actually exists is very high.
People always cite Viserys's line about the control of dragons being an illusion in reference to episode 10 with Luke and Aemond, but I think it would be thematically resonant here too. Yes the bond dragons have with their riders is special but maybe Seasmoke can't actually tell that Laenor, who disappeared overnight and is now a continent away, is alive.

Honestly, I imagine navigating from the sky isn't as easy as it seems and Rhaenyra was just flying around the middle of the continent until she eventually saw a huge lake and now she's just flying towards it, having overshot it on her search.
Like, how many mountains do you think Jace may have flown up in the Vale, thinking they're the one the Eyrie is on, until he finally found the right one. Unless you've been there before, it's probably partly guesswork.

Fortunately, there's been a number of analyses cropping up online that are recontextualizing just how insidious Viserys' actions/inactions affected his family, and the rest of the realm. Just because Paddy turned in a wonderful performance, doesn't mean the in-universe events should be overlooked.

I personally dont mind the marketing strategy of the binary choice trailers, its a bit of fun - and interacts with something that the fandoms do engage with sometimes.
Whilst one could argue that it flattens the show's depth - I'd argue that its simply just the marketting, and I think they are going to subvert this concept HEAVY and throw it in all of our faces in the show itself.
Oh you made a binary choice after we asked you to? How about we demonstrate through the show how this is the big problem, and exactly what we are criticising?

An in-world explanation for flying to Harrenhall from wrong direction could be that the dragons catch jet streams to fly faster. So maybe Rhaenyra goes West to get on the dragon highway even though it’s not the most direct route.
