love my ridgeline, i got it the first month you could buy one back in 2005 im pretty sure. it has to be my favorite car iv ever owned. comfortable, capable, and even powerful. when my ford F-250 was getting some repairs i had to use my ridgeline to tow a 7,500 lbs boat and it did just fine!
At least the Ridgeline has way more power and torque than the Ford SportTrac. And its engine is smaller than in the SporTrac. (3.5 vs 4.0). The Ridgeline IS NOT A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK, it is a SUV with cargo bed. It is a unibody structure reinforced with a rigid chassis. The car was designed to be comfortable, but at the same time useful to move big items with and good all terrain response. It might not be a rock climber, but it can go to many places off the road.
For not having decent tires, I'm impressed with that Ridgeline. That VTM-4 lock actually works. And here I thought they were just toy trucks. I take it back Honda. Nice job.
Man, that Ridgey is sweet, I'm glad I'm buying one today. I was worried that it's a little less powerful and way slower than the Dodge Dakota 5.9 litre R/T that I'm trading in for it, but all the other benefits might outweigh that.
Awesome video! I'm so glad u didn't put any fucking music to screw up the video. Just engine roar, mud sloshing, & guys/girls? havin fun. Mud pusher LOL!!!
@AlbertaBeefy yeah, i'd consider it a car? that's basically saying the ranger, tacoma, colorado, aren't trucks. drive a ridgeline, it has plenty of power. it's not a workhorse, but it's a medium duty truck.
@gtvapsamtik the ridgeline has plenty of power, and very smooth acceleration. gas mileage is probably better with the honda. i average 18 mpg with ours.
It looks like his RL isn't lifted, but yes tires will make a very big difference. He wouldn't of been able to do most of that on stock tires. Also driving style and being able to pick lines\ appropriate throttle etc... all play big factors on a trial.
@gtvapsamtik Do you really need more than that? Besides, in the truck world torque is much more important. The Ridgeline engine produces torque at low rpms. You still can't compare it to a V8, but it's not as bad as you might think. Plus, the Ridgeline is a light vehicle when compared to most trucks.
@GSRGOPEDRIDER247 I drive a tacoma 4x4, and it's much more a truck than the ridgeline is. Even honda says the ridgeline is on a car-platform. Independent rear suspension isn't meant for a truck...
Exactly. It is very car-like. it's an interesting 4wd system. For light off-roading it might be fine, but when I hear people say they "take their ridgeline mudbogging" and they think mud-bogging is 4" of mud (instead of a 30" deep pit) I gotta laugh some... Glad you realize what your vehicle is. For a light hauler with a comfy car-like ride, there's likely not much better.
@aediaz91 may be, since it has the Z71 Off Road Suspension option....but 5.3 liters in a V8 engine for just 320 HP, it is very disappointing.... And the Avalanche is way heavier...it looks great and it is bigger...but heavier and way more expensive....like $10k more.
@AlbertaBeefy i'm not gonna argue with you, it's completely pointless. the ridgeline isn't a heavy duty truck, get this straight people. independent suspension is great, the truck handles great, it rides like a car,
Very nice ridgeline. Been looking at a few of them. Lot guys say they dont do well off road ur shows they do with good tires. Got 2012 dodge avenger thats nothing but problems kinda looking at get used ridgeline.
I love my Ridgeline. Its great in snow, and amazing with snow tires. I had snow tires this whole winter and I live in Northeast PA, and it was very tough and I drove through many ice and snow storms and never slid once. Its great at hauling too. Its iffy on gas, but I drive almost everyday so I can't complain. It's a great car all in all.
Maddie Stark trust me, its a lot better with fuel than the typical f150. my buddy and i do trips every year to a trail for dirtbiking. he uses about $50 in fuel in his f150 i use about 30-35 in the Ridgeline. both 2007s.
It’s the best truck ever! It sounds like an NSX, it never dies, and they never age, every Ridgeline I’ve seen except ours looks very Clean and mean! Our Ridgeline is horrible. It has a worn out interior and there are scratches EVERYWHERE. Also the exhaust has puncture in it
IronZombie definitely not. I got one with 217000kms and she still boots man. my buddy with his f150 (same yr with less kms) says the Honda feels way more peppy. More throttle response, quicker..
Well, if you want a truck . . . don't get the ridgeline. No offense to Ridgeline owners, but it's not a real truck. Until it has a V8 option and some decent aftermarket offroad accessories, you shouldn't really consider it a truck. That's just my opinion though.
Funny, f150s use a v6, funnier yet Gen 2 ridgeline has more hp and torque than said f150s. Plus the ecoboost needs turbos to make said fewer hp and torque.
See, these people amuse me because they make unsound arguments then move the goal post when challenged. So let's go: trucks need a v8? What are f150s, every mid-sized truck, and the half ton dodge and chevy trucks with 6 cylinders then (not to mention cylinder deactivation)? Those cars? Oh, no, uh trucks must be 4x4! That's it! Cool then, what do we call the 10s of thousands of rwd only f150s, Silverado, ram, mid-sized ones sold every year then? Those cars too? Oh, well it's the towing capacity, that's it! Funny, there are unibody suvs that tow over 8000 lbs, so if that doesn't count as enough, all the mid-sizes must again be cars. Is it the independent suspension that disqualifies? Cause many full sized 4x4s use it, which by the way means they lack a solid front Axle and don't truly have 4wd (not even going down the road of how most "4x4s" have open differentials so really are not 4x4 at all). Hell Ford is introducing a fully independent suspension hybrid f150 for 2021. Back to towing, did you know the old crew v6 s10s only towed as much as the Ridgeline at 5000lbs, and the old ranger even less? Guess those are not trucks either. Speaking of which, the new ranger is a turbo 4 cylinder, so not a truck then? Trucks are defined by one thing only, it has a bed. Any arguments left to make? My favorite is debunked in this video, that they can't off-road a ridgeline. Obviously you can. Sure it won't rock crawl at moab or mud bog 30" mud, but no stock vehicle can, few are modified to be able to do so and few people who own trucks actually do that (relatively speaking, yes thousands of people rock crawl, but there are hundreds of thousands that don't) so you cannot make a definition from a minority use case.
Gotta amend my last statement, forgot that capability of trucks depends highly on configuration and varies widely. Using the f150 as an example, there are f150s sold that have as little towing capability as 3500lbs (most other mid size and full size truck have similar configuration options). There is one example that I love, it is an f150, has a 6 cylinder engine, has independent front suspension, 950 lb max bed payload (ridgeline is 1580lbs), tows only 6000 lbs and that is only if you remove some of the stock gear otherwise it is less than the Ridgeline, and although called 4x4 actually has a heavily modified version of awd specific to its intended purpose. By most arguments I see here or elsewhere to belittle the Ridgeline, it is not a truck. It is known as the Ford raptor and I would be shocked if anyone said it is not a truck. So, let's agree trucks are vehicles with beds, they come in many flavors/configurations based on the user's needs. Some people want their truck to commute daily and go to the building supply store on weekends, occasionally do light off roading, and tow small trailers or nothing at all, for them a ridgeline is one of many options that perfectly suits their needs.
This is the second Ridgeline ive seen offroad at the Safari park, still impesses me. Nice work man.
The ridgeline is a smooth riding truck.
love my ridgeline, i got it the first month you could buy one back in 2005 im pretty sure. it has to be my favorite car iv ever owned. comfortable, capable, and even powerful. when my ford F-250 was getting some repairs i had to use my ridgeline to tow a 7,500 lbs boat and it did just fine!
Michael Floyd must've been hard on the Honda tranny. its supposed to be 5000lb towing capacity. lol be easy on er.
Honda’s just don’t die
That's impressive. I think the ridgeline with the 2" lift will be in the running for my next pickup
Best sounding off-road truck I’ve ever gotten to experience
2021 and im still driving the old ridgeline like a beast, take care of it and they go far
At least the Ridgeline has way more power and torque than the Ford SportTrac. And its engine is smaller than in the SporTrac. (3.5 vs 4.0). Very nice video! Looks like you guys had fun! Thanks for posting!
Awesome video! Exactly what im looking for when i type a vehicle “off road” cool video keep them coming
These are meant for heavy offroad but it did very well. nice job
That guy is brave for taking that Ridgeline out there!
That Honda sounds great.
This makes me want to trade my Accord for my dad's Ridgeline ;)
Good to see something different off-road, good video!
Man, that Ridgey is sweet, I'm glad I'm buying one today. I was worried that it's a little less powerful and way slower than the Dodge Dakota 5.9 litre R/T that I'm trading in for it, but all the other benefits might outweigh that.
ridgeline is a great truck but seeing the wheelbase it doesnt seem like a offroader. but you still made it happen. good job
Awesome video! I'm so glad u didn't put any fucking music to screw up the video. Just engine roar, mud sloshing, & guys/girls? havin fun. Mud pusher LOL!!!
I like the tease from the Jeep Liberty, dang Jeep wasn't even challenged, it just floated along....the Honda didn't do bad....
joe Honda is heavier
wow this truck is amazing
Great job with the filming.
@mclajam327 It is somewhat auto, but it has a button for the VTM-4 System. It manage the torque and lock the diff.
that is really darn impressive! id have never guessed that the honda would do that well! no doubt it had a lot to do with driver skill though.
Hahahahaha
"A piece of mud just whizzed past my head."
I'm going to be taking my 99 expedition there this summer, i think it will hold out pretty well.
Surprised at how capable the Ridgeline is considering it does not have low range or locking differentials. Hopefully honda will update this truck.
leadnsteel you got your wish the new ridge line is the best yet.
It can roughly lock the differential in 1st and 2nd with the vtm-4 button.
It has locking diffs, that only work in 1st or 2nd and reverse.
I wonder what happens if you hit VTEC while offroading?
They updated it to complete ugliness
@AlbertaBeefy yeah, i'd consider it a car? that's basically saying the ranger, tacoma, colorado, aren't trucks. drive a ridgeline, it has plenty of power. it's not a workhorse, but it's a medium duty truck.
Impressive!! 💯💯👍🏻
I don't know if id call it V8 sound but it sounds MUCH better then any other Honda vehicle that I have heard.
It’s the best sounding truck ever!
Was vtm-4 lock on the whole time?
@gtvapsamtik the ridgeline has plenty of power, and very smooth acceleration. gas mileage is probably better with the honda. i average 18 mpg with ours.
It looks like his RL isn't lifted, but yes tires will make a very big difference. He wouldn't of been able to do most of that on stock tires. Also driving style and being able to pick lines\ appropriate throttle etc... all play big factors on a trial.
so were u using the VTM4 lock button on the dash or did you just rely on the automatic 4wd shift in the ridgeline ?
What exhaust set up did the ridgeline have???
i want to get a lift kit for mine and put swampers on it cant wait!!
what kind of tires are on the ridgeline?
have you replaced the tires?
@gtvapsamtik Do you really need more than that? Besides, in the truck world torque is much more important. The Ridgeline engine produces torque at low rpms. You still can't compare it to a V8, but it's not as bad as you might think. Plus, the Ridgeline is a light vehicle when compared to most trucks.
Your Ridgeline did pretty well...I mean it did everything the Liberty did, and the Liberty seems to be designed more as an off road machine
Ridgeline Rules!
Mud really likes to hide up in the subframe after doing this kind of stuff. It's a real PITA to clean the underside of Ridgeline lol
Did you have the Ridgelines rear diff locked up through the muddy spots?
That Ridgeline sounds sweet
It does sound amazing, suprisingly similar to my wifes Hyundai Sonata 3.3 V6 with a muffler delete and intake.
ahhh The Great sound of a Houda I could Fap to it.
Just think if it had a little more aggressive tire on the ridgeline.Ilove my 2008 ridgeline super tight no rattles no squeaks 130000 miles.
pretty impressive for a non-off-roader
Where's that brush guard from
The only thing that worries me about the ridgeline is the oil filter location, it's completely exposed! anything could hit it.
what state is this park in? i tried reading the license plate but found no luck
where do u guys go 4x4ing have honda ridgeline too
I am curious if the Honda's VTM was engaged.
@GSRGOPEDRIDER247 I drive a tacoma 4x4, and it's much more a truck than the ridgeline is. Even honda says the ridgeline is on a car-platform.

Ps I DONT OWN THE RIDGE IN THE VID. OURS MENTIONED IS A COMPLETELY SEPARATE RIDGLINE
is the park still open?
Tires on this truck?
impressive
Does the ridge line feel under powered on regular roads? Like slow acceleration and trouble on interstate and so on? I kind of want one
IronZombie definitely not. I got one with 217000kms and she still boots man. my buddy with his f150 (same yr with less kms) says the Honda feels way more peppy. More throttle response, quicker..
I have to agree. I'm always surprised by the pick up of the 3.5.
Small engine, but always pleanty getup and go. Consistently even with age, 200,000mile old age.
It’s got VTEC! It goes 0-60 in 4 seconds
@@TheJorgern 3.5L v6 isnt small to a 7.0 v8 i guess so
Unfortunately we were there to help Lee get ready for tough truck, I didnt have a camera with me, it was weird to see one out there.
I totally want a ridgeline but now that the ford f150 ecoboost is out and has better gas mileage (in the city), I'm kinda torn between the two.
Looks like the driver forgot to turn off VSA!!!!!
i read that they are a fwd 4x4 vehicle making them probably the best off roading 4x4 under 38 inch tires
xTHE PROSCHx yea its fwd, 4WD. it uses the rear when it senses slippage.
@@m.m14433 no this one has an vtm-4 locker and the new one has a all wheel drive system it's not like this system in the CRV...
Woweeeeee
definitely a nice video tho.
no, it really doesn't. it sounds like a V6 with exhaust.
hey anybody wanna tell me why my ridgeline cant do that???? do tires make a big difference?
i have the stock tires, is your ridgeline raised?
fucktechnology69 of course tires make a difference. tires vary on grip. you get A/T or M/T tires for off road.
@fucktechnology69 nice username XD
@gtvapsamtik 40 HP more than the Ford SportTrac.
хонда может. Природа как в россии
Я там на цивике проеду, оусайдеры, на тропинках тестирую !!!...
Ford or a Honda...... Plz
@sgrobot16 tacoma for sure ridgeline's frame is gonna break so fast once you do some wheeling its not even funny
Цивик6 правления универсал
anything a ridgeline can do an f-150 would still show it up
Но может последних 2 препятствия не возьму из-за клиренса
LOL

AlbertaBeefy well, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. 😉
Plus Twin Turbo Roush V6 F-150’s are making about the same as a V8 and they also have quicker accel and better gas mileage

Porque los americanos no pueden escribir que se entienda 🌕 jaja que pedo
I think my Chevy Avalanche will do better than the Ridgeleine going off road.
get some real off road cars.
