The Honda Ridgeline is one of the most interesting vehicles Honda’s ever designed. It’s styling appeals to few, but it’s usefulness may sway you to fall in love with this unusual “truck.” I’ve owned many vehicles in my life and must say I like the Ridgeline the most. It’s great for lugging kayaks, boats, tools and more while doing it all with comfort and spaciousness. Enjoy this video while I explain why this just might be the vehicle you didn’t know you needed! Авто/Мото
Not a real truck? What is a real truck, Ridgeline can go off road, mud , sand, snow, can also carry the whole sheets of plywood inside the bed can also tow 5000 lbs and drive super comfortable, my brother and I used to own a Toyota Tacoma and now we’re a proud owners of a Honda Ridgeline ,,
💯 percent agree!
I've owned 2; a 2008 and now a 2021. It's the best midsize truck on the market. I do a lot of fishing as well (open water towing a 16' deep V boat and ice fishing) and it's perfect for all of my gear and tows really well. Comfortable, reliable and amazing in the snow!
Couldn't agree more!
Which one is better
@@andrewrussell360 2021 is better, more power and love the 9 speed transmission with the sport mode and paddle shifters for towing. Drives so nice! But I loved that '08 too!
@@ramjam4618 thank you 👍
I have a 2008 Ridgeline RTL and absolutely love it! 148k miles and all I've done is oil changes, tires, and just replaced all the brake rotors/pads. I've driven it to some pretty remote locations off-road, I put taller tires on it and a leveling kit that lifted the front 1.5" and that helps it a lot. Really great truck!
Don’t neglect replacing the timing belt, it’s time.
Great video sir, I purchased a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, with 134,000 miles and I Im really impressed with it. I’m really loving it. It drives like new.The trunk is also one of my favorite parts about this truck. It’s very spacious, comfortable, reliable and it’s a Honda!! Take care.
Congrats on your purchase!!
Unconditional love, a dog is much more than property. I've never owned a truck. I have a 1995 Honda odyssey ex with close to 400,000 miles that I use as a truck
Well if you pull the trigger on a truck, cant go wrong with the ridge!
💯 nailed it…I used to think these were pos….then I got in one and checked it out….changed my mind completely
190k 08 model. I have hauled coal, wood, hay, sheep, plywood, gravel and fish and camp every summer in it. Still has an ice cold ac and starts right up. Great vehicle.
Nice! Have you recently changed the timing belt?
@@VentureTube yes, at 165k
I've been looking for a 2nd vehicle for an overlanding set-up from a Lexus GX470 to a new Bronco, but thanks to you a Gen 1 Ridgeline just may be what I need. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Glad I could help!
When I experienced some life changes last year one of them was the truck I drove. I had always been curious about them but an opportunity to own one came up I couldn't say no and I'm sure glad I didn't it's been very versatile and fit every need I have
I agree the 4 wheel drive system is stellar for a non monster truck ... I was showing off in front of some of my relatives and got stuck in a wet Creek bed in all-wheel drive switched it to four wheel drive lock and drove right out it was beautiful 2011 Ridgeline. The best thing about these trucks though is the ride... I had back problems from my other trucks because I do a lot of driving for work...a lot of my back problems left after a few months of driving my Ridgeline.
I've been using the Sprint Booster in my 06 and it helps with the gas mileage by finding the gears faster, its not drastic but it helps. Also it boost the performance and rides smoother.
I’ve heard good things about it.
What mpg do you get?
I got mine in Dec 2005, still have take to a mechanic yet, never gave me a single issue. Great video!!!!
Good to hear! How many miles does yours have?
2007 here. Towed a 3500 RV trailer across the US East to West Coast twice no issues. 276K miles before selling for a new vehicle. Should of kept it...
I put my 07 to the ultimate test yesterday. never getting rid of this thing. this thing literally will go anywhere
I have 2 of them a 2008 and a 2020, hauls my Kayaks, canoes, and scooters! the 08 is going strong at 155k and 2 repairs!
Which one do you like better?
This is an awesome video Man. I too am a working man that's above average size. You are exactly right I Love My Ridgeline. I have had three Honda Ridgelines and each one has been awesome. I am a Honda fanatic anyway and I used to tell everyone I really wanted a truck but I would get one when Honda made one. Anyone who doesn't like the Ridgeline is someone who has never had one. The first Generation is my favorite and my 2012 Ridgeline has 282000 miles on it and I am never going to get rid of it. I bought it new and have had zero issues. The Ridgeline really does grow on you. I agree with you all the features you mentioned are great especially the in bed trunk.
I bought mine 5 months ago. My first truck ever. I bought it because in my Civic was difficult to go to hidden beaches or secret spots without lot of crowds. And I have a 15 boy with autism that isn’t very careful with sand and everything and with the bed I throw everything there, clean the feet and ready to go. And…still got a trunk like a car.
Thats a great idea!
Awesome video! Just purchased a 2007 Ridgeline and I love it. Used to have a 2018Jeep which was nice but I didn’t want to keep making payments on it and I sold it and bought the Ridgeline. Just subbed to your channel and keep on living the dream 🤙🏽
Love my '07 Ridgeline!
It’s a Swiss Army knife
@@VentureTube The Swiss Army Knife of trucks, I like it 👌🏽
Enjoyed that. Those new Ridgelines look sweet but I may just pick up the older one if I can find a clean low mileage.
Honestly I like the look of the older models much more than the newer ones. Looks more “trucky” to me.
Cool AM wheels. I’m looking for a used Ridgeline and ran across your video. Great content. Thanks for the perspective.
I got one and is awesome. My is 2011 and it got 157,234 miles .. is the best medium truck ever .
I agree!!
Just bought an 08 rtl with 103k. Already loving it and all the storage
Congrats!
I have a 2011 and it really does amazing in the rain and snow. I've been sideways on the highway In Michigan in slush and managed to recover some how. Gotta hand it to them. Only thinking that would make it a better vehicle would be to make it electric. One motor in the front and two in the back. Plenty of room for batteries. Might lower mine a little as well and widen it a tad. Thank you for the quality content. Wish you and your family th best.🙏
An electric Honda Ridgeline....brother you just blew my mind lol! Thats a dang good idea. All the best!
I got an 07' rts, man yours looks in really great shape!
It really is! Thanks for watching!
Love this truck, hope to have one one day.
Nice. I have a 2014 SE just turned 150k love it!
I love the way this 1st gen ridgeline look. Way better then the newer ones. I hope and pray I'll get one soon.
@ 9:01 (my favorite quote and selling point for me) about to buy one now because it describes me and my (soon to be) "n.a.r.t." 😊
I love your videos man! I just became an owner of a 2013! I have completely fallen in love with it!! I’m 6’2” 240 and it’s definitely more spacious than the F-150s I’ve had in the past. I’m also a tournament bass fisherman and I call pull my Nitro anywhere without worry! I’m going to start doing some modifications real soon. I’m going to start by lifting it a bit and adding some all terrains. My buddies give me a hard time about it but I’m sold on them for sure. Thank again brother for the video’s!
Awesome!! They are the Swiss army knives of trucks!
I bought one of the very first, an RTL, in March of 2005 (billed as a 2006 model). I drove it for 10 years and 312,000 miles and it was still a great truck when I let it go. In fact, the place I was trading for a 2015 model bought it from me. I’ve driven nothing but Ridgelines since they started making them, now in a 2021. Retired now, I was in the timber business and my Ridgelines never failed to take me where I needed to go and get me back out safely. Frankly, any truck without a trunk doesn’t interest me.
Perfect description of a best truck I owned . Im still driving my 2006 Ridgeline with 204.000 mil. Before that I had a 2004 and 2008 Ford F150's. that I liked as well but not as much I enjoy driving my Ridgeline. It didnt require much maintenance other then brakes , but this year in 2023 I decided and changed all suspension , struts and brakes front and back. Last thing I need to do is to replace leaky power steering hose.
I have 2 first gen ridgelines and love them. Great video!
I wanted a mid sized truck didn’t ever need a full size. This truck does everything. And it’s a Honda they run forever.
You got that truck looking tight
Thanks good Chad lol
Looking forward to seeing what the new Rideline Trailsport will have as capabilities and features. I hope they will keep up the durability of the truck.
Trailsport? I know nothing of it. I’ll have to look it up now
@@VentureTube They already have the pilot trailsport so there are vids on it being tested. Just a little more clearance, skid plates, 360 cameras and heavier duty traction control system.
Bet you got a sick exhaust setup on that thing!
Yes sir! You should hear it since I deleted everything!
I bought a 2012 Ridgeline RTL with 105k miles. I sold my full sized pickup because it would not fit inside the garage of a house that we bought. (3" too long) I love my Ridgeline, but it seems to have lost a ground with the driver door switch. It doesn't know when the door is open or shut. But, I will fix that and keep this truck!
Nice presentation Tony. FYI, the best Ridgelines are from 2010 to 2014. They’re built better, are almost maintenance free, designed better with a car feel. Two of my friends have Ridgelines and that will be my next truck in the future. I have swam in the waters of Sam Houston State Park back in the day but, I won’t do it now. Playing it safe. I just subscribed to your channel and greetings from League City.
In what ways are they built better? Just curious
completely disagree.. The 2009-14 were made in Alabama, where they need pictures to show them how to build things.. Most Ridgelines with 300K plus miles are 2006-2008. The instrument cluster in the 09-14 is smaller and not easy to read temp and fuel gauge.
@@peterdaniel66
Yep, I believe my 2006 was built in Canada
Your video is great. I have that same...hmmm do I really want to go there but in the world of 65k trucks , for what I do, a used Ridgeline seems like a smart purchase.
Right on
They are great trucks ! I have 2006 RTL with 140 k it still looks fantastic. The best vehicle I have ever owned . Thought about
getting a new one but I really like the first generation and the new ones have not really improved anything that much. Have done
some things to keep truck updated like Led headlights and new tail lights and some others but this truck is a do it all vehicle.
The best part it rides on the highway great . I looked under my truck the other day and there is zero rust it looks like it is 4 years old.
Had it in snow thick beach sand hills dirt roads. hill roads ect. it performs flawlessly . All I can say if you run across one of these
older models in good shape get it you won't be disappointed.
💯
I just bought an 07 RTL 140k miles in great condition and I absolutely love the truck. So glad God blessed me with such an awesome vehicle!
Until the Tesla Cybertruck, this was the only unibody construction pickup made - it’s unlike any other truck. This is why both will handle better than any truck. Trucks beds are not part of the body and are not safe at all. It’s one solid frame between the body and the bed! Good purchase!
I do like the cyber truck. Still a little concerned going all electric though…
Try this. Push unlock then push and hold the unlock and watch all the windows go down until you let go. You have to use the key in the lock to make them all go up. It's great for getting the hot air out in the summer
Lots of people are rediscovering the first Gen ridgeline and I'm all over it, I got an 06 with 180k and I love it
One note about the newest 21 Ridgeline is the gas mileage is closer to 20 in the city and it has more power but most of the mpg savings is just Variable cylinder management and auto start stop so if you are not a fan of those features or have a lead foot you will see the same mileage as the first Gen
I got 21-22 on my 06' on i10 driving from Texas. All hwy driving
@@robertberin4872 I've gotten 24mpg before on the highway with the a/C off and keeping the rpms low even if I lost speed, but I get about 14-16mpg, 18 on a good week on my commute so highway mileage doesn't really matter much
@@tankmlee 5mpg makes a HUGE difference at $4.15/gal here in Cali.
@@robertberin4872 I have no idea what point you are trying to make...
Just bought a 2011 with 70k miles! I’m excited
What are some things you had to get fixed since you’ve owned it? And what was the most expensive? I’m about to purchase one tmr. 1st time truck owner 😎
So far just the cats and routine things like tires and brakes. Next is the timing belt. But other than that, it’s been solid!
I'm looking to get an used truck just to move things around and my cbr600f4 don't need that full sized bed but need a crewcab incase.. the tundra crewmax was my 1st choice but now with budget truck the ridgeline is becoming top runner.
Will fit a cbr600 just fine sir. Can’t go wrong with a Ridgeline!
I have a "used" 2006 RT with some dents. Running smooth and get random compliments.
The ridgeline is how he got those Milwaukee tools $$$$
Great video Mr.Tony. Love your exhaust system
Omg….🤦🏿♂️. Don’t let him influence you….
If you read this get it serviced every 100.000 miles very important
What roof rack did you buy for it? I’d like to but that one you have. It looks great
I have the links in description. It’s a Yakima rack.
2012 150 k and counting no issues except maintnance best truck /car i ever owned
Mine is still going strong at almost 200k!
I have an 06 with 210k and still going strong
Good to hear because mine is about to hit 190k!
Could you do a video on your lightbar install in the middle of the grill. That looks really nice!
Yessir I will!
Can you please make this video
Can you post links for light bar and grill? Beautiful Ridgeline 💪🏼
I miss the storage space I had in my Ridgeline. Rust got to it so I had to get rid of it.
Thank you for the video
Your welcome!
I love my 2020 Ridgeline and one of the reasons I bought it was because of the trunk and the storage with the back seats up. I do mostly highway driving and have gotten up to 27 mpg.
Wow 27 isn’t bad at all! What are you averaging in the city?
@@VentureTube I don’t do much city driving but on my shorter drives and doing a little stop and go it’s more around 20 to 23
When you went to Louisiana with your RAM 2500 friend and when your Ridgeline kept up fine and your friend's RAM didn't, did you have your Ridgeline's VTM-4 Lock button on or did you just drive through in the regular drive gear?
Nope just drove it!
I think the only thing its missing is low range gears but its a sweet little truck none the less.
Gearing doesn’t bother me too much. Nice trade off for highway cruising.
Hi what kind of roof rack do you have on the truck it looks much better then the original one
Where did you get that the roof rack on your truck thank you
Love the grill. Is that custom?
nice video. i have a 2007 rtl with 110k on it. not the best gas mileage but still love it. only problem was a couple of months ago when the ignition cylinder got messed up and crapped out in the driveway of a friend’s house 25 miles away. had to get an auto locksmith. talk about rip off but what can you do? came here looking for something about the slider door on the console up front. latch must be broken but haven’t figured out how to access it. anyone know that fix?
yeah they are gas thirsty for sure! I can't help you on the slider door. First time I've heard that problem.
Where did you get the red Honda emblem for the steering wheel from?! 😎
eBay I believe. Just posted a new video with all the links in description
What is the roof rack you have on this truck?
Hi, what size tires do you have on there? I’m looking to get 17” rims and either the nitro grappler or BF Goodrich T/A KO2 tires but cannot tell if it will fit without a lift kit. Is your truck lifted?
I’m not sure if his truck is lifted, but if you want tires bigger than stock than taking off the front mud guards is necessary to prevent rubbing. I have 265/65/17 BFG ko2 tires on 17” KMC bully rims and I ended up getting a 2” lift because it would rub on sharper turns of the steering wheel. Ground clearance is better with bigger tires and a lift also
Where did you get the mesh grill?
I have the same wheels on my 06!!
Sweet! They Sorta look like some of the stock rims they are putting on some of the new ridgelines.
What size tires do you have on your Ridgeline?
Good video
Love my G1 125 k running strong ,yours is looking good as well love the wheels on it ! trunk space is awesome isn't it ?

@@omarcaban9917 yes sir!
Nice truck! I have an 2010. Where did you get that roof rack or name brand? Thanks!
Its Yakima Bars with the Q towers for a Ridgeline
The designer that made the Avalanche was the lead designer of the Gen 1 Ridgeline. So the Gen1 Ridgeline takes it's cues from the Chevy Avalanche.
What kinda rims and tires are they?
Honda’s doing just fine, although the 1st gen had better stock approach/departure angles and ground clearance.
What roof rack are that ?
What is your tire size on the Ridgeline
It gets about the same miles per gallon as a 4WD 22RE Toyota pickup. I've had two of them and my 2007 Honda Ridgeline gets the same gas mileage. The only thing it doesn't have is the ground clearance that my Toys had. I put my kayaks on the roof too.
Have you ever had a valve adjustment?
a ridgeline will embarrass a regular 4wd truck in snow, facts.
No doubt
Mine just did amazing in 10 inches . Out performed a new Subaru in snow mode ( whatever that means).
Can you do a video of your exhaust?
Absolutely!
I have a 2009 honda ridgeline for my first vehicle any suggestions for a bed cover
I really like my truxedo. It’s lightweight looks great and is fairly waterproof. Downside is it’s not lockable.
I love my 2008 Ridgeline! What rims do you have on it? I have 213k on mine.
They are Black Rhinos
@@VentureTube rim size ?? And tires sizes please ?

Yakima Round bars with Q tower attachment’s.
Just here to say thanks.
Can you please tell me tires size??? And rim size ?? I need the 3 number example 265/70/R17 ?
at 04:01 you can see the tires size, 245/70/17 (30.5"), unsure on the exact offset/size of the rim.
