- Earwax removal through irrigation and curettage is performed to extract a blockage caused by packed cerumen that was causing a degree of hearing loss. We think wearing earplugs may have contributed to the impacted earwax deep in this patient's ear. We provide views of the wax inside the ear so viewers can see what the impacted wax looks like inside the ear canal.

This guy cracks me up.
Aww I have hearing aids and I totally can relate to this guy. I need to clean every once a while but I don't really have too much time to do that so I just use hydrogen peroxide and drop it into my ears. It will bubble and then will wash the wax out. And I clean hearing aids with unused toothbrushes. I don't have a small hearing aid, it covers all of the ear.
That sounds like a good regimen to keep from getting wax build-up.

Have you always added peroxide to the water?? I bet Ted feels so much better now, that was quite a chunk of earwax. Does earhair contribute any to the buildup of earwax, meaning that the wax gets stuck in the hair and accumulates?
The ear hairs are only at the very opening of the canal. They play very little role in cerumen impactions. We never see impactions that come all the way out to the hairs. We try to always use the hydrogen peroxide.

Why will anyone allow their ear to fill up with so much wax that prevent them from hearing properly. I am 55 years old and the slightest iitch i get in my ear i clean it out.
