As Colombian, I think they did a great job. First, there are a lot of women in their ranks (if you see other guerrillas), and they suffer a lot, due to they are enlisted (not necessary by force, but cause there is no option, because poverty, isolation and there is any option to progress), at a young age, they have to suffer not only the same training as any male, but also they have to serve sexually their superiors, they have to do abortions or be killed if they refuse. So, they got their mind far twisted than a male insurgent, and you can see that in combat or terrorist attacks. If you talk with Colombian soldiers ( I had to due to my job), they will tell you that women are the most sadistic and dangerous insurgent in FARC ranges (also FARC, is the most dangerous guerrilla in America).Moreover, during the combat in season 3 we can see that she was a "Pisa suave", that is an elite unit of the FARC, that are trained for stealth mission, they are trained to survive in the jungle at a young age, naked (cause clothes and shoes are noisy), no food, no water, only explosives and a gun called "Mata policias" or police killer, that shoots projectiles that break through Kevlar (as we see in the anime). The rate of mortality is very high, but the survivors are the deadliest killers in FARC ranges. Finally, she lives in Venezuela, the only place where an ex-FARC (because, nobody wants to go to Cuba), could try a normal life. I think that they did a great job about the background of Roberta, especially the disappointed about revolutionist Ideals and how they start to traffic drugs to generate profits.

Its absolutely crazy that Roberta actually lost no Limbs in the Manga. She was that powerful. She was so powerful she had to be nerfed in the anime. If she wasn't nerfed, everybody would be done for. She's literally an invincible Super Soldier that has killed thousands of people and has no emotion in doing so.
Not only that, Roberta outsmarted Revy and yea almost killed her too. That's enough to put her in the Round table of Menaces.

I watched her movie and read the manga. I really HATED that they had to nerf her in the animation because it made her LESS TERRIFYING. Which most anime nowadays is severely lacking what with the isekai genre giving us nothing but female characters that are nothing but harem arm candy pieces or death flag collectors for plot purposes. Revy, Chinglish, Roberta and Balalaika alone got enough Black Air Force Energy.
Ngl you aren't wrong, and also I wish when they make "strong female" characters in western media they wrote them like that. If you can only write characters who are flat and only exist to promote your political beliefs, then don't write them at all and instead learn from others who did a better job than you.

Lowkey was waiting of you to mention at the end that all of those injuries that she suffered in anime are basically not canon as she suffered nothing neither in manga nor in novel. She literally dunked on all of these guys and came out with only minor injuries. She was that much of a meanace that anime literally had to nerf her ass due to how scary she was.
Honestly, this kind of reminds me of a female Yuuji from the Grisaia series, with the biggest difference being Grisaia is a slightly more realistic universe, and Yuuji probably would've been slowed down at least a bit from being sniped and blasted with the claymore, but only a bit, don't know if he'll ever get put on trial, I sort of doubt it since that series is so niche that this comment will barely even be seen, let alone understood, but he was also on that Roberta timing, especially at the end of the series and in the prequel, and the big part is that with him being the main character of his own series, he's basically Roberta if you also saw at least a bit more of everything she did BEFORE she became a maid. Though, he'd be extra hard to cover as well, since all his feats are spread across multiple games, and the anime adaptation literally doesn't even cover half of it even though it adapts each of them separately, since the budget for it was clearly a limiting factor. Plus the Grisaia series has so much shit in it, I'm pretty sure guidelines/demonetization would hit Cj pretty hard for just half of what happens to the main character, nevermind all the supporting cast.

@@AkitakUzu Agreed, unfortunately it's extremely underrated, the anime is good but can't really hold a candle to all the depth that the series has across the whole trilogy and all the various routes/timelines, with the true cannon being an amalgamation of everything together.
If the anime were a higher quality/longer, I think it would've gotten more attention, but as is, I think it's too far out of CJ's realm to be on his radar.
Although, you never know. Maybe he just has it deep in the vault and may attempt it some time down the line in a few years. But there's a lot better known characters/series he'd have to get through for it to be worth it for him financially I think, and new menaces to society are being made every day.
