This was a great reaction as always. John Candy was truly a legend and will always hold a special place in my heart. He reminds me of my dad in so many ways, brash and not delicate but he always grows on people because he's gregarious and easy with jokes. John Hughes, what more needs to be said.
Absolutely long shot that you guys ain't seen it but Cool Runnings is another fantastic John Candy performance. A personally underrated film he starred in was 'Who's Harry Crumb?' Where he plays the title role. Love the work you guys put out, look forward to the next one!
"Only the Lonely" is a really great example of one of his few roles that is more dramatic and less comedy. And he was really good in that as well. I've only seen a couple of movies he was ever in that I didn't care for, and those were movies where he only had small uncredited cameo appearances.
The actor playing Bug, Jay Underwood, was the first actor to play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in live-action in the Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie.
Nice, you guys are *finally* watching this! Been waiting for this to happen for like 6 movies now. Spaceballs was one thing, but if you havent seen it, you guys really should see The Great Outdoors (or Wagons East).
It's funny you made that reference to Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels when the mouse car rolled up because the clown is played by Mike Starr, their "victim" in Dumb & Dumber.
Uncle Bucks' girlfriend Annie is Amy Madigan, who played Kevin Costners, wife in Feild of Dreams, and Maizy is played by Gaby Hoffmann, who played Kevin Costners daughter in Feild of Dreams.
This film warms my heart. I remember seeing it when it came to TV as a Kid (a few years after the cinematic release). John Candy passing away was my first actor death that I was upset about back in the day. No more Barf reprisals in Space Balls for one.
Fun Fact, the actresses that played the youngest daughter and Uncle Buck’s girlfriend would star as Mother and daughter in a little film called Fields of Dreams. Both movies came out in theaters in 1989.
I'm so happy that you guys got to see Uncle Buck, one of many great films from the late Great John Candy. It's true, I have 8 VHS copies of this movie. It's my favourite. You gotta do a John Candy marathon! Summer Rental! Only the Lonely! The Great Outdoors!
I think this is John Candy's best performance, overall...and it is definitely my favorite movie of his. So happy to see you guys react to it...I enjoyed seeing you watch it a lot...thank you. 👍
Another John Candy film to check out: Summer Rental. It also has Rip Torn, Kerry Greene (The Goonies), a very young Joey Lawrence, and Richard Crenna (First Blood). For John Candy in a smaller role, check out Stripes. It stars Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. It also features Judge Reinhold, John Larroquette, and Sean Young.
I read an interview with John Candy's daughter once, she said that for Uncle Buck he basically played himself, and its how she remembers him, that always makes this movie pretty special for me, he was a BIG part of my childhood as i was obsessed with movies and he seemed to be in all of them
The horror cut trailer for Uncle Buck is definitely a thing. I found it very quickly. I'm glad you guys watched this movie. It's such a treat and a classic and you can see like the bones of what would eventually become home alone in there as well.
A fact about the scene regarding mac and john sitting at the table for that scene john put a sticky note on his forehead so that mac could remember his lines better
Awesome choice of movie one of those 80s movies i grew up with and one of John Hughes best hilarious and heartfelt and that end scene freeze frame is what me and my best friend describe as a John Candy moment that makes you miss him incredible actor and amazing reaction as always dudes!😊
FREAKING LOVED the Metallic Pea comment I'm 65yr old seen 38 states & all lower Canadian provinces by family camping ( didn't have a Truckstrr..old white Plymouth Station wagon pulled Coleman pop up camper) Laughed my Ass off when I saw NationalLampoon Vacation...was Dammed near all Vacations I had..Biggest LOL was in Yellowstone when I was 13..they had what they called Bear Jam..people stopped watching bears...my Dad threw food out windows wasn't Totally Great Outdoors moment..bear just ripped off side mirror 😂❤❤ LOVED the reaction ❤❤😅
Loved these growing up and loved the old great comedy actors, Chevy Chase, John Candy, Bill Murray, Steve Martin and so many more. I do happen to remember an other uncle buck... from a more recent film. I think it went something like "My name is Buck, and I'm here to .....", fairly different Bucks :)
I love this movie. It's a perfect vehicle for John Candy; Buck is a funny and awesome but simultaneously slightly tragic character. Oh, and Binging With Babish did the huge pancake.
Another great John Candy movie is Only the Lonely. It also stars Jim Belushi, Aly Sheedy, Anthony Quinn, and Maureen O'Hara who steals every scene she is in.
I don’t think John Candy got enough really good movies. He was in a lot of movies, but it seems like most of his best roles were bit parts like in Home Alone or Nat’l Lampoon’s Vacation. This is the best lead role he ever had, IMO. Planes, Trains and Automobiles is probably my second favorite.
this role was specifically written for John Candy it could never be anyone else, you guys would love "Armed and dangerous" an absolutely joker of a movie
Dudes, I will stay nice. I'm not a fan of lampoony comedy, but somehow this movie uses its like salt on a delicious meal. I am a sucker for heart warming comedies that don't celebrate the worst human qualities, but the best. Such a good film.
@ericb.4313 Another John Hughes movie called Dutch. It's not as good as Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, but it's probably my 2nd favorite Thanksgiving film. Also, Scent of a Woman all takes place over Thanksgiving weekend.
Just to point out for people who missed it. The last scene with Buck waving, he had a wedding ring on his finger. I think this shows his life turning around.
Honestly movies like this just make me realize how breakneck the pacing in a lot of contemporary movies feel. Like if this was remade I don't think we'd get a second's pause on the guy who got the toothpick stuck in his mouth or the establishing shots in the cafeteria, and those bits add so much charm and realism to this movie.
I agree, and I miss this. Not that every movie has to be like this, but I miss media that felt it had space to take its time. That’s one of the things I like about watching a lot of international movies; not every culture has the need to keep things moving the way just about everything is here.
John Candy's children said that this role was very close to who he was in real life.
My favorite John Candy movie. The last shot is heartbreaking.
I get the same feeling whilst watching planes, trains and automobiles last shot
Mine too
That's the one that popped in my head when I first heard he passed.
We all miss John Candy, rest in peace friend.
i like to think buck took care of his brother when he was younger so he use to looking after his brothers kids
This was a great reaction as always. John Candy was truly a legend and will always hold a special place in my heart. He reminds me of my dad in so many ways, brash and not delicate but he always grows on people because he's gregarious and easy with jokes. John Hughes, what more needs to be said.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS!
John Candy, Dan Akroyd and 80's summer lake camp vacation.
what could possibly go wrong?
I second this!
Bear… big bear….. big bear out there…
Absolutely long shot that you guys ain't seen it but Cool Runnings is another fantastic John Candy performance. A personally underrated film he starred in was 'Who's Harry Crumb?' Where he plays the title role. Love the work you guys put out, look forward to the next one!
i love "Who's Harry Crumb?". my brothers and i would re-watch it constantly when we were kids.
"Only the Lonely" is a really great example of one of his few roles that is more dramatic and less comedy. And he was really good in that as well. I've only seen a couple of movies he was ever in that I didn't care for, and those were movies where he only had small uncredited cameo appearances.
John Candy in Cool Runnings was amazing, a little more jaded/serious than in Uncle Buck but still hilarious.
I forgot about that one. He didn’t get enough great roles, IMO, but he wasn’t really with us long, unfortunately.
Funny enough, the clown is the hit man they kill with Ray poison in Dumb and Dumber after having made the reference about the car lol
I never picked that up. That's so cool to know now.
Ray? Who's dumb now lol 😂
Uhm, RAT!!!!!
You beat me to it! 🤓👍 😆
@@keithsimpson6563 🤦🏻♂️
That bowling alley was filmed in my hometown, sadly it's gone now
😞
This movie seems just PERFECT for you guys! Love your reactions!
Macaulay Culkin did so well in this movie it inspired John Hughes to make Home Alone just so he can cast Macaulay.
I just realized that was Laurie Metcalf playing the mom's friend
Yup. From The Norm. Show.
@@John_Locke_108…or, Roseanne, The Connors, Big Bang Theory.
There is a mock trailer of Uncle Buck if it was a horror movie! Check it out!
The actor playing Bug, Jay Underwood, was the first actor to play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in live-action in the Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie.
Another John candy movie most people don't remember is " whose Harry crumb "
Nice, you guys are *finally* watching this! Been waiting for this to happen for like 6 movies now.
Spaceballs was one thing, but if you havent seen it, you guys really should see The Great Outdoors (or Wagons East).
It's funny you made that reference to Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels when the mouse car rolled up because the clown is played by Mike Starr, their "victim" in Dumb & Dumber.
Exact mentality I’ve had as an Uncle, I find out something is wrong, I WILL get the power drill
RIP John Candy. Amazing human being.
have enjoyed so many new movies since subscribing to you guys.
Still one of my favorite movies of all time! R.I.P. John Candy 💖
Yes Dudes! I grew up with this movie ❤Tia needed her Uncle Buck. 😊
Uncle Buck is a masterpiece. No joke, I saw this in the theater 8 times when it came out. It never gets old. RIP John Candy.
The Great Outdoors and Summer Rental are another two enjoyable John Candy films
"Big bear! Big bear chase me!"
I'd add in Splash too. Though he's a supporting role
I enjoy "Who's Harry Crumb?" as well.
What a great film with good writing and casting. Watched it as a kid and still love it to this day. John Candy was so talented
The Great Outdoors and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles make up the big three of my favorite John Candy movies alongside Uncle Buck
By far my favorite movie i wanted uncle buck as my uncle when i was a kid 🤣🤣🤣
You can not go wrong with a John Candy film.
They always just seem to work and even now they are still funny in the right way.
I love the scene where he, "explaining" that he's not coming in and it's funny his way of response to her that's one sided shot
So many good movies to watch like Delirious, Armed & Dangerous, Only the Lonely, Nothing But Trouble, Great Outdoors, Summer Rental, Splash!
Fun Fact, the actresses that played the youngest daughter and Uncle Buck’s girlfriend would star as Mother and daughter in a little film called Fields of Dreams. Both movies came out in theaters in 1989.
The Great Outdoors is a classic belly laugher with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.
John Candy is one of the handfull of people who could immediately elevate whatever project he was in. Along with Robin Williams, and Andre the Giant.
Did you know Marcy in this movie is the same person in Roseanne ( its her sister ) and The big bang theory she's Sheldon Coopers mom.
Uncle Buck came out before Home Alone. I wonder if this movie inspired Home Alone to exist?
Summer Rental. A John Candy classic. Must react!
Great video guys, and also your almost to a 100k subscribers keep up the good work you two do a another Mel Brooks movie.
Easily the most lovable uncle in cinema history!
My great uncle is nicknamed after this movie
I think this is John Candy's best performance, overall...and it is definitely my favorite movie of his. So happy to see you guys react to it...I enjoyed seeing you watch it a lot...thank you. 👍
“Need to have my coffee” James Belushi in Mr Destiny! I love that movie
I always forget how much I love this movie until I rewatch it… it’s sooo good
I read an interview with John Candy's daughter once, she said that for Uncle Buck he basically played himself, and its how she remembers him, that always makes this movie pretty special for me, he was a BIG part of my childhood as i was obsessed with movies and he seemed to be in all of them
Your videos are always worth waiting for! This one was no exception! Thank you for all you do!
That was awesome guys. I knew you guys would love this movie and I’m happy you did.
My Pa loves to watch this movie with us. The scene of him trying to use the urinal at the school makes him go absolutely hysterical every time. 😂
Nice RLM reference there guys!
The horror cut trailer for Uncle Buck is definitely a thing. I found it very quickly.
I'm glad you guys watched this movie. It's such a treat and a classic and you can see like the bones of what would eventually become home alone in there as well.
Gotta do Only the Lonely - imo John Candy’s best acting. Legend Maureen O’Hara plays his mom, it is amazingly good.
"Cool Runnings" (very loosely inspired by a true event) is another really good movie with John Candy in a major role.
This is my childhood movie and you guys are the best reactors. YUSSSSS!!!
i was waiting for this one from you guys for a long time: my favorite John Candy movie and one of the top 5 from my childhood!!! Thank you very much!!
I won tickets to see Uncle Buck when it was in cinemas. First time I went to a movie by myself. Bloody good film!
A fact about the scene regarding mac and john sitting at the table for that scene john put a sticky note on his forehead so that mac could remember his lines better
‘Buck alone’ is a wild ytp mashing this, home alone and planes trains and automobiles
Awesome choice of movie one of those 80s movies i grew up with and one of John Hughes best hilarious and heartfelt and that end scene freeze frame is what me and my best friend describe as a John Candy moment that makes you miss him incredible actor and amazing reaction as always dudes!😊
I love this film. If I remember correctly, it was this film that directly led to Home Alone being filmed.
Please react to Splash! It is a great 80s comedy with John Candy, Eugene levy, and Tom Hanks. Y’all would love it!
Can you please do a film called adventures in babysitting (1987) you'll love it guy's
Agreed, as well as 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead' (1991).
It took you guys way too long to watch this movie. The world needs another John Hughes.
The first 30 seconds are pure nice dude gold 😂😂
John Candy's best performance and the movie that makes me miss him every time i watch it.
Also, Proto Kevin before Home Alone haha
Somebody actually did make a horror trailer for Uncle Buck, its called: Uncle Buck Horror Trailer Redux (2008) xD

You should check out "The Great outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd
that movie is awful
Dudes, I will stay nice. I'm not a fan of lampoony comedy, but somehow this movie uses its like salt on a delicious meal. I am a sucker for heart warming comedies that don't celebrate the worst human qualities, but the best. Such a good film.
Didn't expect a nod to RLM in this video but yesss Macaulay Culkin's appearances on there have been great!
John Hughes -- a pioneer of the Edgar Wright "shoot a comedy using horror techniques" school? You decide
One of the best movies I've ever seen!! ♥ It's been a fav since it came out!
Macaulay Culkin was so advanced for his age XD
I feel like this family is typically those kind of persons who hates smiling and cheerful people.
I love this movie so much this wanna these that never gets old evertime you watch it.
You guys really need to do a"Planes, Trains & Automobiles" reaction.
It's John Candy's best lead role.
It's even better than this.
I would say with Thanksgiving 2 months away, they can rewatch it then because it's the only decent Thanksgiving film I can think of.
@ericb.4313 Another John Hughes movie called Dutch. It's not as good as Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, but it's probably my 2nd favorite Thanksgiving film.

Oh yes, the Mess Around scene kills me
Great film. Last part always gives me a lump in the throat. 😢😊

My parents and I always say unbreakable line when we drop something especially if it’s glass
Supposedly the last frame is on Candy's grave marker
John Candy good actors! I almost 4 years old when he die! I 20 years ago so many list film and i see!
My wife and I love this movie it's hilarious 😂
This is the movie that made McCauley Culkin famous.
He is hilarious in Who’s Harry Crumb, my favourite John Candy movie 😂
I used the very same toothbrush threat on my kids when they were younger thanks to this, worked too!
Just discovered your channel, great reaction😂 to one of my fave John Candy movies!
It's fun to try and picture how Marcy (Laurie Metcalf) went on to be Sheldon's mom.
Everyone needs to watch uncle buck is so good john candy was great
Home alone was inspired by the doggy door scene in this movie that john Hughes came up with
Honestly movies like this just make me realize how breakneck the pacing in a lot of contemporary movies feel.
