When the Sherrif asks if the mole was originally on the other side, it was a genuine 'did costuming screw up?' inquiery, but Mel Brooks liked the 'I have a MOLE?' response so much that he decided that the roaming mole would be an ongoing thing.

I have this one on VHS, recorded off HBO (so without the cuts). Love this one, my fave of all the Mel Brooks movies. I think it's got enough Swashbuckling to be a solid action film (Carrey Elwes doesn't hurt that!) and the 4th wall breaks are juuuust subtle enough to not take you out of the story, while still being hilarious.

You should check out the movie Redline from 2009. The sound design was awesome with each characters motifs being brought towards the front of the soundtrack depending on who is winning the race. They also utilized silence well.

Time to get Merry with the Men because this is an extremely funny movie, so here are some fun facts - This isn’t the first time that Mel Brooks worked on a Robin Hood project when he worked on satirical spin on Robin Hood called “When Things Were Rotton”, & Mel Brooks wrote all of the original songs - Robin Hood is played by Cary Elwes but when Mel Brooks called him for the role Cary thought he was being pranked, but he was prefect in my opinion & like he said “unlike other Robin Hood’s I can speak with an English” was such a jab - Patrick Stewart wasn’t the first choice for King Richard was originally going to be played by Sean Connery since he has played that character before, but this time he would crossdress along with wanting a 1 million salary so he could donate to charities - When the Abbot (played by Dick Van Patten) was walking down then got annoyed by a man that said “Hey Abbot” is a reference to Abbott & Costello - Dom DeLuise may have been the mafia inspired Don Giovanni, but did you know his son David DeLuise was also in the movie as one of the villagers
The 2018 movie Robin in my opinion was really a cool new way of introducing the story Robin Hood. It was a bummer that it apparently didn’t do very well.

- Dom DeLuise may have been the mafia inspired Don Giovanni, but did you know his son David DeLuise was also in the movie as one of the villagers
The 2018 movie Robin in my opinion was really a cool new way of introducing the story Robin Hood. It was a bummer that it apparently didn’t do very well.
I think you guys should react to the life of Brian. It would fit right in this lign-up. And, it can technically count as a christmas-movie, so perfect to watch in december.

This movie almost, ALMOST justifies the existence of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Almost. Even Alan Rickman couldn't save that film, and he sure tried.

I saw this in theatres when i was 8 and laughed my ass off at Chappelle's character then a few years saw Half Baked in theatre.

I’ve actually met Cary Elwes and he is such a nice and funny guy
