Police Unions and Police Associations...they need to be audited...that's the lobby...that's where the pressure to keep bad cops is...that's where their "legal funds" are...
I could only listen to so much of your bullshit narrative. It's clear you have no understanding of police procedures. The police department may have paid out but they did a calculation based on how much it would cost them to defend the case versus pay it off.
The call they received from a retired police officer was that two individuals - not two black men necessarily - 2 individuals made forcible entry into a home. The statement that it was two black individuals was as a form of identification and not racial bias. The mouth in the background was the one going off about how it was white cops against black people. Typical bullshit when you have individuals in custody suspected of committing a crime. Based on his training and experience as a police officer he was given proper credit for his observations.
You incorrectly inferred wrongdoing of Officer Valentina because she drew her weapon. Not knowing whether in fact a burglary was in progress or whether the subjects were armed, that is standard procedure. It is irrelevant whether the other officer pulled his weapon. You failed to note however that he had his hand on his weapon ready to pull it. That's an important distinction you failed to make. More importantly, Officer Valentina's actions were reasonable. She was professional the entire time and not abusive of either individual. She showed no racial bias whatsoever. Typical black man screaming racism just to get a pay day. By the way, I'm black. Look at my profile.
The officers did not conduct a Terry frisk. They were searching two believed burglary suspects. That was not an investigatory detention. It was a reasonable suspicion borderline probable cause detention. It would appear that although they had a lock box key the main door itself may have been stuck and require them to put their shoulder into it which is what the witness stated. How many burglars do you know come out and give you a bullshit story? It was fortunate that he had a realtor ID and matching business cards.
There was a time in my career when I was checking a particular location for possible burglary in progress which was right next to a post office. It was on a Saturday. An individual presented himself out the rear door and indicated that they were doing work on the weekend. Not seeing identification on the alleged postal worker my partner and I turned our attention to these two individuals who in fact were burglarizing the US Post Office. So while you infer and speculate and incorrectly State a Terry Stop you know nothing about police procedure. When you're on the street it is guilty until proven otherwise. Based on the circumstances of a report they forced entry into a residence, that's a crime in progress. That's not a Terry Stop. That's a crime in progress.
You indicated that the police officer went into the pockets of the subject which was against a Terry Stop. What you fail to mention was the subject was indicating that there was a key in a particular location and that he was needed to verify that they in fact had access to the lockbox. When asked for identification he stated it when he was in his right rear pocket. That gave the officer the authorization to go in and retrieve it. That's not a Terry Stop. That's a crime in progress stop.
The city paid out but that does not mean that was wrong doing on the part of the officers. You failed to state whether or not the officers received individual punishment for their actions. It would be appropriate if the officers had not followed police procedure that they would have received days off, which according to Civil Service policy requires the agency to publicize or make available that information under the Freedom of Information Act.
You've done nothing but give inaccurate information based on your bullshit understanding of police procedure and court cases.
I don't have a problem with Auditors when they do a fair audit Yours is a hit piece. Yours was biased from the beginning. You read some court case decision that did not apply in this instance. Unless you're a law student that has an in-depth knowledge of the 4th amendment and can tell me I'm wrong and how, I'm going to stick with 26 years a practical experience supplemented by in service training. It's not even your own footage.
@Kanikapila Ho'ohanai :: just the kind of response I expected.
JustAnotherGuy A severe problem these days is that cops are out here taking accusations of wrongdoing as the end all be all. Like you said, guilty until proven innocent. That is not only the wrong way to conduct yourself as an human being, but it ends up with settlements as we have seen countless times.
Now I expect you to disagree and curse at me as you have the video’s creator, and that’s fine.
Just know that assuming guilt is no way to treat another person, particularly when they are being cordial with you. What would be the harm in performing a terry frisk and then allowing the “suspects” to provide their own evidence to support their claims instead of cuffing and searching them?
JustAnotherGuy Also, the officers begin illegally searching the gentleman before he ever states where his license or business cards are. Not sure why anyone think it’s okay to search people beyond a terry frisk just because a tip was made that someone was possibly performing a B&E.
This female cop is a danger to the public and should be fired
Most of them are. I am 100% against police departments hiring women to serve as officers.
Definitely Not CIA Bear a bit extreme lol
@@LcZero Agree with their statement or not, the objective truth is that women are more susceptible to emotion and can potentially have a harder tome dealing with a high stress situation.
EDIT: Allow me to clear up something, several here have read this statement and assumed I'm a sexist/ misogynist/ bigot/ asshole man that thinks women can't handle emotion AND THAT IS NOT THE WAY I FEEL.
I feel women in general are more emotional than men, that is due to my own interactions with women and being married. I have never once thought women are less than men in anyway however. If you think I feel that way after me saying that then I don't care. You don't know me, you only think you do from a single comment made by me.
Jeduraiya Although that may be true, it would ultimately be a question of the constitutionality of implementing a rule like that; a blatant infringement of the equal rights amendment.
@@LcZero The ERA has yet to be ratified and is only a proposed amendment. For decades women were not allowed to join the military. I use this example in an attempt to point out that just because a woman isn't allowed to do something, it doesn't necessarily mean she is being denied her rights.
Look at it like this, there are male and female divisions of sports for a reason. Women are not inferior to men, please don't misunderstand me, however they are different from men. I believe that statement cannot be argued. Women are built differently physically and mentally, and if for an example women were allowed to integrate into male sports, there would be alot of women hurt from the larger and more muscular men.
Biologically moat men have the ability to compartmentalize emotions much better than most women. As a result of this, the government saw fit to not have women serve in the armed forces for the longest time not only due to this fact, but also the fact that the average woman would not be able to keep up physically with the average man.
On top of those two considerations, there is also the matter that the women are the reproducers of our race and are viewed as much more of an asset than us men.
With these points laid out, I feel the same logic can be applied to law enforcement. I do know there are some women that can handle th stress and may even be able to outperform a male counterpart, however with that said I also feel as a whole men have a greater potential to perform well with the job.
I see no difference in men and women as far as worth as a human being is concerned, but I do feel there are vasy differences between us biologically and emotionally.

I would prefer the officer make sure he had a key and see if he had a business card just to safety make sure he is what he says.
But then cops should go to that retired asshole and kick his ass for being a racist liar.
"They forced the door open... [with a key]"
Sue Mr. Brannigan for calling in a B&E without probable cause.
I cant imagine how much tyranny the retired cop caused over his career. Wow unreal.
The retired cop was redlining. He didn't want the black guy to buy the house.
Its fairly sure he won't now. Nor will most realtors bother to show that house to a black man after this. So he got what he wanted.
I'm surprised the home owner didnt sue the cops also, hard to sell a house when the prospective buyers are put in cuffs and detained.
for sure....
@@TheWabbit I actually wonder if the homeowner was selling the house to get the hell away from that retired cop as a bad neighbor!!! Good point you make though too!

This is what happens when you hire two year olds. Not one of them could see that the door 🚪 wasn’t damaged. The fact that the door was not damaged in any way would have been a clue to an adult.
♥️♥️♥️👩🏽🦳
The female officer Fkd up by not asking for his real estate ID first…. Her ignorance cost the city. Not to mention how quick she was to jump to conclusion when it was OBVIOUS they didnt break in, but used the lock box and the key to gain access to the house. The officers are obviously prejudice as is common in Missouri.
The other thing is that many Realtors don't have a "realtor id." They have a business card...just like many professions don't have a special ID. But he likely had a mls report in the house and probably had the number of the listing agent somewhere.
It should be the police officer who should pay the settlement not the city.. people!

Well as we see while watching one or more officers enter and could be considered to commit crimes while doing investigation of why realtor and buyer were held. This should result in criminal and civil charges against all officers and dept ,in hundreds of thousands more in compensation.
Well at least he learned this was a bad neighborhood before buying the house.

this is what racists want. for you to say "fuck that...im not buying this house."
Idc what color your skin. This ex cop would be all in your business, supervising your home and using code enforcement to make your life hell. Dodged a bullet by not buying....
That Retired Cop who called the cops sounds like he was a Racist Cop too. How many black people has he arrested illegally during his time? 🤔🤔. Makes you wonder..
Exactly
From the dialogue, retired cop was giving a description. As far as the approach of the officers once they say "realtor", give him a chance to show his evidence and then the investigation is over with. It is so stupid of the officers to handcuff and then illegally search him.
"I know it is not open house .... " - so was the neighbour in charge with selling the house and getting the lates updates from the seller ? because how would he know ? A realtor can also have a changing agreement when the seller. Like: NOW he can bring any interested person, or he settles that with a short phone call if the seller is still living in the home.
"Is it O.K. if we come tomorrow ? - I have a prospect" - sothe sellers will do the dishes and make the beds ;)
Since the realtor had a key you would assume the seller wasn't living there anymore (or the key was given so that the realtor could have access while the seller is at work).
It's scary how many he arrested that were innocent
I was about to comment something similar....
So, I am questioning the police entering the property without the consent of the present owner, they should have been contacted, first.
Up here in Canada, officers would attend, ask to see Mr Isham's Realtor card, call his office to confirm the appointment, and apologise. Mr. Isham would say no problem, great to see you guys are on the ball eh 😊
No reason to call the office. The guy could show you on his phone an email confirming the appointment day and time from the local showing service. You wouldn't need to call anyone.
The title is misleading. It should read, "The tax payers payout $150,000 for the cops' incompetence."
Scott Abercrombie: I wholeheartedly agree. If one single time these tyrant officers were personally held financially liable for their actions in such situations and lawsuits, then there might be a slight change.
It's funny how they find the city responsible for the cops incompetence. It's like punishing the teacher if the student fails the exam...
Scott Abercrombie agree!
Demand reform. It's your money.
It's sickening but so true..
But this is why this is going on countless times because they're not holding the individual officers accountable.

What you have to remember is that if you have 20 cops on the scene, you have the combined intelligence of a 5 year old.
And most of that intelligence is contained in the veteran officer that they have to radio call back at the station for instruction. In reality the police force seems to be a big club where a few bad apples are observed by a number of other members that have more sense but the irony of the situation is if you interfere with the bad conduct of the bad apples you may find yourself out of the club.

She is an idiot BUT the other cops eventhough he didn't draw his weapon his hand IS on the holster as well @3:45....
The other officers cant stop her without retribution because she is a woman.
This is why I say there aren't many "good" cops ...because if there were there wouldn't be any bad cops...the good ones would turn them in or force them out. But the prevalence of "bad" cops in the police community means, by default, other officers either look the other way or implicitly agree with the bad behavior...meaning they are not good cops.
She was recently arrested for getting drunk and fighting with her sister and causing property damage! Will probably get a raise vs fired with the way the police unions work!
There’s like a weird unwritten cop code that you don’t second guess your partner while on the scene. It’s stupid I know.
