I’m in love with these old stories, I can’t get enough of em’. I’ve always wanted to go to the Middle East, specially to Israel, to see and study these places. As a writer the stories of the Bible have greatly influenced me and my writing.

In addition to that, the Bible is written by real people with real names over a span of 1600-1700 years. And most of the time those people never knew of each other. So how can those people get together and formulate a plan? And they all talk about the same person...Jesus...whether literally or thru typology. The Bible is also very detailed when referring to places and local governmental leaders. The Bible is superior to mythology.

Even atheist historians agree that Jesus (Yeshua Hamashiach) was a real man who walked the earth, and He went to the Jews, letting them know He was their Messiah. None of the Bible came hundreds of years after Jesus. In fact the letters and gospels we have in the New Testament were written by Jesus’ disciples who were Jews. These gospels and letters were written only a few decades after Christ’s resurrection. This is all based off of manuscripts that we’ve found over the years. The Bible is the most studied book in history, yet it still has not been dismantled.

I have always believed since I was a child without any evidence, even though I did not understand what it meant or why God was calling me at an early age as a Catholic. Hundreds of years before Jesus was even born prophecies were recorded to tell of His coming. His life and journey to the cross and of His Powerful Resurrection. Jesus is the fulfillment of Scripture. He is the Word. He is the Light. He is the Way the Truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but through Him. Jesus has fulfilled every single prophetic word.
I love this! First, I proclaim Him as my Lord and Savior. But, while I want to live for the amazing eternal future, while still eager and uncertain of the near future, I would love to see "replays" of all of Jesus's life. Honestly, I could watch all of the Bible played as if it was recorded. I love what is written, but I want to know even more. Seeing these sites is amazing.

Indeed, more and more what was thought to be just Biblical "stories" regarding people, places, and events are being found to be absolutely factual, to the letter. Secular archaeologist and researchers who are not exactly believers in Biblical text, often use The Bible as a guide to search for sites and artifacts.

For example an accurate description of the pool of Siloam is not evidence or proof that Jesus cured a blind man happened in that place. It's a false and ridiculous claim, to assert that "historical documents are actually confirming the biblical story" because it happens to mention real characters and places. That is as unthought out as saying that because Superman and Spiderman comics and movies include real people and places that it must confirm Superman and Spiderman are also real. It's absurd to assume that sophomoric logic like that applies to Christianity and not every other popular novel of the times. In order to make stories more appealing or relatable to an audience, authors have often included real people and places in their fictional stores. This technique is still done to this day as explained above.

Look up William Lane Craig - he sought out to disprove the Book of Luke, and by the time he was done, finding evidence SUPPORTING his claims rather than AGAINST them, he was convinced that Luke was among the most accurate historians of all time. I’m not sure what direct connection the coin has with Exodus 30:13 and Matthew 21:12. Exodus was written in the 5th-6th century BC. That silver coin looks like it was from the late second century BC and Jesus tossing tables in the temple was around AD30. Commerce taking place in and around temples in the ancient world was common. In fact, temples were the places wealth was stored because the protection afforded by the fear of profaning the god(s) in that time. This is no more evidence that this biblical tale from Matthew 21:12 is true than it would be to say a man named Brian spent a shekel on a fake beard for his mum so that she could go watch the day’s stoning.

Real places, and real people, often feature in fictional stories. To think that this is then evidence of quite extraordinary supernatural claims, demonstrates nothing more than a strongly held confirmation bias.
@@NealeBaxter what he's arguing (I'm inferring) is not necessarily that these pieces of evidence prove the supernatural events of the Bible but do confirm the other events, places and people in the Bible. In university for example it's quite common to use the Bible as a reference point for historical studies of that area and the eras featured in the Bible.

Is there a point to this? Archeology has confirmed people and places from almost all ancient literature actually existed. From people mentioned in the first written story (Epic of Gilgamesh) to the stories of the Trojan Wars and sacking of Troy and the Icelandic Sagas of the Vikings journey to North America. Biblical stories are no different. Just because the places and some of the people existed( still exist), does not mean the book is not mythology. Mount Olympus is real, but never housed gods. Those that feel the need to have physical proof to their faith have missed the point of faith and belief. No amount of proof will ever dissuade the faithful just as no amount of proof will convert the faithless. Must take someone that despises religion to see how pointless "proof of biblical stories" is.

one lump of clay does not "confirm whole chapters of the bible" like this guy says (1:00). At best it shows that a name in the bible matches up with a name in use some time in history. Nothing more.
Granted the wording is a little off, evidence is present and continuously added to by archeology. And you are right the names match up, that's the whole point. The Bible is consistent with historical facts like names.

I have always believed since I was a child without any evidence, even though I did not understand what it meant or why God was calling me at an early age as a Catholic. For example an accurate description of the pool of Siloam is not evidence or proof that Jesus cured a blind man happened in that place. Exodus was written in the 5th-6th century BC. That silver coin looks like it was from the late second century BC and Jesus tossing tables in the temple was around AD30.

Is there a point to this? Archeology has confirmed people and places from almost all ancient literature actually existed. From people mentioned in the first written story (Epic of Gilgamesh) to the stories of the Trojan Wars and sacking of Troy and the Icelandic Sagas of the Vikings journey to North America. Biblical stories are no different. Just because the places and some of the people existed( still exist), does not mean the book is not mythology. Mount Olympus is real, but never housed gods. Those that feel the need to have physical proof to their faith have missed the point of faith and belief. No amount of proof will ever dissuade the faithful just as no amount of proof will convert the faithless. Must take someone that despises religion to see how pointless "proof of biblical stories" is.
